private Crystal Requiem: The Rise of King Sombra
Icy Void replied to EcstaticWind's topic in Everfree Roleplays
"Yeah, I know what you mean. At my house in the Everfree Forest the only company I ever really have is my sister, though I do have one friend who comes around sometimes. And even though I've never actually seen the sunset from Ponyville, I can say that it has a unique feel to it when seen from the Everfree." Midnight said, getting more comfortable, at least with this pony. "Anyway, what do you think of our mission? I get the feeling that the princesses feel more threatened by this surge of dark magic than they're letting on, otherwise they wouldn't send such a diverse and combat ready group of ponies for guard detail, and clearly they fear some serious magical conflict otherwise I don't see the reason for going through the trouble of contacting me." Midnight asked, curious as to how Bright Eyes will respond. -

"So we're not just going after some magic book, we're going after the Litany of Magic, the real Litany of Magic! I've studied all sorts of magic, but the Litany has always been unreachable and far too dangerous. This may be the single greatest expedition of my life, so I say let's get going." Midnight said eagerly, too excited about the Litany to bother about being noticed as he adjusted one of his armor straps to tighten it. Midnight Sky had a suspicion that maybe his reason for being chosen for this large team was due to his large repository of magical lore, and since the Litany was the pinnacle of magic lore his knowledge and magical talent could come in useful. 'I just hope we don't have too many problems along the way, who knows what kind of damage this mystery pony could cause if he read a whole half of a Litany scroll if we're delayed.' Midnight thought. "Uh-huh, sure." Blizzard mumbled after the arrogant pony's remark to him. "I agree with Midnight, let's not waste time. We know where we're going so I say let's get going already!" Blizzard said after Red showed them where their destination was. Blizzard was personally eager to get going, it had been far too long since the last time he had traveled further than the Everfree Forest. Although it was something of a drawback to be traveling with such a large group, since large groups move slowly. Blizzard was however, content to stay with the group to make sure Midnight didn't have any problems with these other ponies, nopony will ever say that Blizzard Blitz left a friend to fend for themselves. -

Midnight sighed when he overheard the one ponies rather arrogant remark. He had the urge to mention that he spent a good two years of his life wandering the lands outside Equestria, one of which he spent in the frozen north, but seeing as he was wearing his old royal armor that was decorated with obsidian and gold but no less effective than any other armor set he figured that it would draw too much attention to himself. However keeping a low profile in this group was looking to be fairly simple, what with a guard pony, an arrogant pony, and a dragon, Midnight figured there are more interesting ponies in their group than the finely armored unicorn and his pegasus friend. He just hoped this group of assorted ponies..., and a dragon, could work together long enough to do what they were called here to do. "Well if you're here to join our little expedition, then I guess so, sir dragon." Midnight said to the dragon, thankful that the mother had not come. Blizzard could already tell he wasn't going to like this arrogant pony. She was too full of herself for her own good, and he hoped that she wasn't seriously going to stay with them for this expedition. "Oh yes, because we'd all be sooo helpless without you." Blizzard said sarcastically. If this pony was going to be part of this team, or as close to a team as they could be considered, then he sure hoped she got a reality check on her attitude. He was so wrapped up in his distaste for the arrogant pony that he barely reacted to seeing that a dragon had apparently also been enlisted in their group for this mission. -

Midnight Sky walked through the streets of Canterlot keeping a brisk pace as his friend Blizzard Blitz followed close behind. Earlier he had been helping his pegasus friend practice his flying when a letter had arrived. The message described how his assistance was requested on a mission to hunt down a magic tome in some far off place, and Midnight just couldn't refuse. Even though Blizzard hadn't been invited, he had followed Midnight to Canterlot claiming that he didn't want his friend to go on some long quest without a familiar face, and Midnight had agreed to let the pegasus come along. With the help of Blizzard, they eventually found the statue they were supposed to find, one that showed a famous Equestria unicorn mage named Starswirl the Bearded, and saw that several others were already there. "Looks like there's some tension revolving around that unicorn there. You sure we should trust these ponies?" Blizzard asked quietly as they got closer to the group. "I'm never sure, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. One of them looks to be from the guard, so it can't be all bad." Midnight replied, falling quiet now that they were within earshot of the group. "Soo, I assume you're all here for the same reason I am?" Midnight asked the group of ponies, Blizzard landing beside him and looking over the ponies critically. -

Well, he never was human, he's just from another pony country outside of Equestria, just to clarify. But thanks, now to post. -

Could I maybe use another of my OCs as well? If not then okay, but if yes then here's the application for him: Midnight Sky link in my sig. Midnight Sky is a pony born to royalty from a far away land who fled to Equestria with his sister to find a new life. He has since settled in the Everfree Forest and spends his time studying magic in all it's forms. While he isn't shy, Midnight is hesitant to talk to other ponies in fear he might have to discuss his life before coming to Equstria. -

private Crystal Requiem: The Rise of King Sombra
Icy Void replied to EcstaticWind's topic in Everfree Roleplays
"Well, I'm sorry for my awkwardness too. I don't exactly spend a lot of time with other ponies, as you can probably tell. And I do visit Ponyville on occasion, usually for supplies I can't gather in the Everfree Forest, but also to get some interaction with other ponies besides my sister. But for the most part I stay in the Everfree Forest." Midnight said to Bright, though he hadn't meant to say so much. It just felt good to talk casually with another pony, normally when he talks with another pony they treat him as some sort of outsider, granted that is exactly what Midnight is. -

Well I'm willing to join in. I'll be using Blizzard Blitz, the link is in my sig. As for a brief description... Blizzard Blitz is a competitive flier who loves flying as high as possible, and while he is initially suspicious of strangers he makes a loyal friend. While he usually has control over his emotions, sometimes his anger can vent out violently -

Midnight nearly jumped when he heard a voice address him, and he looked at the pony who had just introduced himself as Bright Eyes. 'Looks like this pony is about as awkward with others as I am. Might as well talk with him.' Midnight thought before responding. "Well hi, Bright Eyes. Nice to... meet you. My name is Midnight Sky." he replied awkwardly. 'Great job Midnight, now we can play the awkward conversation game. I guess it could be worse, I could be talking with our grouchy mercenary instead.' Midnight thought silently. -

Midnight Sky trudged along through the snow, keeping apart from most of the others. While he at least trusted that most of them were amiable, he wasn't all too comfortable with the idea of getting to know them, at least not yet. As they walked Midnight saw that the night guard pony and one of the research team ponies were deep in conversation, as the night guard seemed to be maintaining a ball of fire between them. Further ahead he could see Poppy and agent Fields talking briefly, which wasn't a surprise. Part of him wanted to go and talk with the others in their little group, seeing as they would probably have to work together once they got to their destination. On the other hoof, it wouldn't do much good to make friends with them when some of them might not make it out of this mission alive. 'Ah, what the hay. My sister has always said I should be more social, I guess now's as good a time as any. If things really are as dangerous as it seems, then I guess it's better to die with friends than mere associates.' Midnight thought as he pulled the fur cloak tighter around his armor. It didn't do much to conceal his royal armor, due to his helmet, but it helped. Looking around at the others, he decided the night guard and other pony looked friendly enough, though he hoped he didn't interrupt them. Midnight Sky began working his way towards the two ponies, but as he got closer he lost his nerve and just hovered nearby, too nervous to approach them. 'Maybe I shouldn't. They might ask about my past, or wonder why I wear such fine armor. Perhaps I should just continue on in silence like I have been, but then I won't even be able to say I tried to at least be friendly. I think I'll just stay at this distance, if they notice me and call me over then I'll talk with them, if not then I'll walk alone. Yes, that will work.' he thought as he glanced over at the guard pony and the other pony. -
planning Intrested in an adventure RP?
Icy Void replied to The Elusive Cinder's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
This looks like it could be fun, I even have a new OC who would be perfect for this. So I would certainly like to join once/if this happens. Besides, the other rps I'm in are going pretty slow or have died. -

Could I join in this too, this sounds perfect for my OC Midnight Sky(link in sig). Also would it be okay if maybe I use my other OC Sunshine Rays(also in sig) in it, but not as one of the six main ponies, she can act as an assistant side character since that's what she does with Midnight anyway. -

private Crystal Requiem: The Rise of King Sombra
Icy Void replied to EcstaticWind's topic in Everfree Roleplays
Midnight had been about ready to hate captain Dare, but the pegasus's apology had caught him off guard. And he didn't show it, but he was grateful for the fur coat, even though he didn't need it since his armor was made with winter survival in mind, the fur covered the armor nicely and made him feel less conspicuous. 'Well, that was strange. It seems that this trip may not be as bad as I feared. These research team ponies don't seem all too serious, which may be a problem, but at least they're not all grim and serious like agent Fields and his assistant.' Midnight thought as he retreated back to the edge of his group of companions. 'Hmm, now that we all seem to be here, I wonder when we'll head out. We still have no idea who or what that surge of dark magic came from, and it is a possible threat.' Midnight though as he did another check of all his gear. -

Midnight winced at Aegis Dare's remark as if he had been hit. "Trust me, if I had armor that was less... shiny, I would have gladly worn that instead. And I would have to request that you refrain from calling me 'prince', I doubt such a course of action would benefit our mission." Midnight said tightly, seething that this pony who he'd never met before was already scarily close to his past. While Midnight recognized that his leaving home initially was childish, things had turned out for the better and he didn't want one of his greatest failures too be so publicly known. His sister in Equestria and his siblings back home except for his eldest brother all knew why he left, and that was enough. 'If this pony drags this out, then we'll see where he ends up if he needs my help. Even if I am being childish, I left that life in the past, I'd prefer that it stay there.' Midnight thought angrily. -

'Well this aught to be fun. A nice long walk through a snowy wasteland accompanied by a group of ponies who seem hardly capable of operating as a team. Oh how this reminds me of the days I spent traveling through this same wasteland on my way to Equestria, except then the only other pony I had to worry about was my sister. I guess it also helps that this time there isn't a blizzard to get lost in, somehow I doubt our group would do so well in keeping together.' Midnight thought as he followed Snowy Fields onward. At this point he was glad for his armor, it may be flashy but it was made to be usable in any weather, granted Midnight could still feel the cold working it's way through ever so slowly. He just hoped that the group made it to their destination without any mishaps. -
private Crystal Requiem: The Rise of King Sombra
Icy Void replied to EcstaticWind's topic in Everfree Roleplays
Midnight was interested in the research division ponies, they were an interesting mix of ponies, but he had a feeling he'd have plenty of time to get to know them. He hesitated a moment, debating whether to introduce himself now, or wait until the others have. In the end Midnight decided to just introduce himself and get it over with. "Well, my name is Midnight Sky, but more than that is my own business." he said quickly before retreating back to the edge of the group. 'Here's to hoping that nopony gets suspicious about me not wanting to mention anything beyond my name.' -
"All right Aron, got a good lunch for us. A sandwich for me and a nice fruit bowl for you." Midnight said, setting the food down. He sat down and began eating his sandwich when he heard a loud screeching noise. Shortly later, a pokemon that Midnight recognized as Skarmory dove from the sky and grabbed Aron's fruit bowl. The Problem was that Aron didn't let go and so Skarmory also carried Aron away. "Aron!" Midnight yelled as he jumped up from his seat. 'Great, just great. Now instead of lunch I have to chase down a Skarmory, all because Aron doesn't know when to give in.' Midnight Sky thought as he began running after the Skarmory that had carried Aron off.

private Crystal Requiem: The Rise of King Sombra
Icy Void replied to EcstaticWind's topic in Everfree Roleplays
While the others argued about loyalty, Midnight made a clear point to stay out of it and moved to the edge of the group. He was beginning to wonder how they could succeed as a team, when they're already prepared to kill each other when they only just got here! 'I hope this doesn't become a problem. We'll need all our strength if this source of dark magic really is a threat, and we won't if we are fighting each other the whole time. Hopefully these warrior ponies will calm down soon, I'd rather not have to intervene.' Midnight thought as he watched the others argue. -
I don't necessarily dislike my name, but if I could change it I would make it something like Peter, one because there aren't many Peters(at least where I live), and two because some people somehow got the idea that that was my name and they just could not seem to figure out how to call me by my real name.

ooc Crystal Requiem: The Rise of King Sombra OOC
Icy Void replied to EcstaticWind's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
I'm not sure if I will or not yet so I'll just explain it. Basically what he does is he takes one object that resembles another object and using his magic imagines that they are both the same object so that what he does to one happens to the other through the established magical connection between the two objects. It's use is limited though because while the telekinesis part is as hard as normal on the repllica, he has to maintain the connection similarly to maintaining a force field. And this connection is harder to maintain the more different the two objects are in size, weight, composition, appearance, etc. Plus the more different the objects are, the harder it is and the longer it takes to establish the connection in the first place. This in total really just makes it easier to manipulate enormous and/or fast moving objects that can't really be effected by the normal telekinesis of all unicorns. Think of it as using a miniature replica to focus and strengthen his magic onto the target. And it can only be used for moving things, not destroying them, and it can't be used on living creatures. Any more confusion please ask. (I'll also add this to the character sheet so that others don't ask the same question in the future) -

Sure, Midnight Sky's main weapon will be his magic(as in using his telekinesis to us rocks and stuff as weapons) but he also has with him a semi-collapsible spear(some of the shaft collapses so that he can store it easier) and as a last defense he has a knife.
