Oh no, I disabled my status notifications, because I have way too many friends. I was getting ~300 a day, almost all of which were status updates. So this was 20 notifications of quotes, mentions, that sort of thing.
The most I've had in a single day is 300-something. Most of them status updates. If somebody posts status updates all day long, I'll seldom look at more than the last three they posted.
