  1. Working on painting the base for my Rainbow Dash model. It's coming along pretty good so far. I should be able to post pictures of the whole thing by tomorrow night. I will be out of town tomorrow day and was out all day today so I didn't get as much done as I wanted yet.

  2. We could make one for you if you wanted. Although, I think it would have to be through the commission forums? They are about the size of a sheet of paper so roughly 8x11. If you are interested in one let me know and I'll try starting a commission thread for these.
  3. I haven't made a Rainbow Dash plaque but I am working on a 3D model of her. Here is a link to my current progress pic of it. What do you think? http://mlpforums.com/topic/87411-wip-part-two-of/
  4. yeah, I decided to make a model like because you don't see them anywhere. and I wanted to see how fun it would be to make one and so far it's a lot of fun. I had put my progress pic into another thread when I should have put it in here. I apologize so here is the link to the other thread with an updated image of this piece. http://mlpforums.com/topic/87411-wip-part-two-of/ Hope you enjoy.
  5. Hmmmmmmmm.............IDK. :comeatus: How do you think it would look if I added a cloud to the side? Thank you very much. I most certainly will.
  6. Wow. I think they are both gorgeous pieces. Very well done.
  7. Here is another WIP pic. Just need to accentuate the wings on this side then the other side is all that's needed to be painted. Ok, both sides have been painted now. All that's left is the base. I am so excited. Putting the base on here will make it look rediculously awesome. Anyone want to take any guesses as to what the base will be?
  8. Sooooo, can't go do our cleaning jobs today because the truck won't start due to the cold weather. I find that awesome and crappy at the same time.

  9. OOOHHH, carving. That's another thing I would like to learn. Using chisels and knives. But, the wife says I can't just quite yet. She says I still need my fingers. LOL. Someone I talked to about it before suggested starting with using soap since it's much softer and easier to use. You could probably try that and see how it goes.
  10. Yeah, unfortunately the paint did turn out a little dark. It looks pretty good in natural light though. I can't wait for this to be done. My very first 3D, built by hand thing. I'm so excited. I will be starting to design and build the base tonight and my wife is going to paint the details. Tonight is going to be so much fun.
  11. Decided to put the base paint on tonight instead of waiting till Friday night. Just put a couple coats of blue on it and that's about it. Sorry it's not more than that. My wife will do the detailed work: the stripes, eyes, hair (all being painted), etc. and while she's doing that I will build a base for her to stand on. What will the base look like? Not tellin' ya. BUT, it will make this look that much more awesome.....................................I hope. LOL. Here it is:
  12. Once I get used to etching/engraving I want to learn wood burning and implement the two elements.
  13. Who else uses wood? I've been trying to find others but am having great difficulty.
  14. Working on etching some jewelry boxes tonight for Friday night's art gallery. We are being vendors and the theme is "Love" so, unfortunately, they aren't pony related but I gotta do it to try and pay some bills.

  15. I actually finished this about a week ago, I just forgot to show everyone. So this door plaque has a reversible sign on the bottom. Obviously, this one says "C'mon In", the other side says "Sleeping". It's about 13" tall (including the chain) and about 7.5"-8" wide. This was cut out using a scroll saw and a dremel for the etchings, then hand sanded and hand painted.
  16. I worked this afternoon cleaning a house with my wife, then went grocery shopping, now I will going to work doing resets in a store at 7pm and working overnight. Tomorrow, I'm going to be very moody.

  17. Lol, i thought the same thing after cutting the piece out. I thought "Huh, that might work". LOL. It was tough doing the small part of the wing. My fingers have to be pretty close to the saw blade.
  18. Thanks, neither can I. ended up working overnights again this week so I won't be able to get it painted until this weekend.
  19. Very tired. Worked overnights last week and have a couple of days this week as well. Body isn't used it.

  20. Here is my latest project (first time doing this so I will work out the kinks later on) of a 3D Rainbow Dash. I had done a couple of etchings and wanted to try to acually (somewhat) make a 3D model as best as I could with what few tools I have available. So here is a pic of this wonderful characters progress. I am hoping to start the painting some time this week. Let me know what you guys think about her so far. She stands about 16" tall and is roughly 20" long. I tried to insert a pic of all the pieces but my computer didn't want to upload the image so, sorry for that. But this is what it looks like so far. It is made from a 2x12 and 1x10's (I just cut the tail and legs from this board).
  21. OMG thank you for this honor. I didn't expect my etched plaque to be included in anything. This is so cool. I did a Fluttershy jewelry box too but I don't remember if I had submitted it on here or not. I will be doing more pony etching's soon. Right now I am working on a 3D RainbowDash. I'm hoping it turns out real nice.
  22. Thank you, check out our DA page, we have a few other commissions that we have done on there that I have yet to put on here. http://ryuneko-artzcom.deviantart.com/gallery/ Thank you, it was pretty fun to do. She turned out way better than I had expected. I am very glad you liked it. That is the reaction I wanted to get. Good to know the hard work payed off. Thank you, it took about 4-6 hours or so to do. It was my first time working on something so small so it probably took longer than it should have, but hey, I had a blast doing it. :comeatus: And it turned out adorable.
  23. Finished this beautiful piece last night. What do you think? It is about 5"Lx3.5"Wx2.5"H. Fluttershy snoogling with a rabbit engraved on top of the box and heart motif's on the sides. After engraving and sanding then I used a paint wash on it to darken the etched lines.
  24. Silverwisp, have you ever heard of anyone having there own style? Maybe they did it on purpose, maybe not. It's a really great drawing. Pelate did really well with the tail/main and the shading. It's a beautiful piece, but all I ever see from you is negative comments. It's very discouraging to me. Why don't you try a little encouragement first, you know, a few good comments, then make suggestions on what could be changed to make it a little better or whatever.
  25. That's really good. I've yet to try and draw a pony free hand.
