  1. She's a pony and he's a bear. They both are among the most adorable and beloved characters in the world...but only one can win.
  2. There are few comedians that I can listen to over and over again. John Pinette is one of them. Get out of tha line!!!!!!!!
  3. I honestly don't know what to think of this film. So, the best visuals, like any Nolan film, are incredible and so much fun to look at. Going through the wormhole and...whatever Cooper went through toward the end, is exactly what I anticipated to see and more. Besides that, wow, my feelings toward this film are all over the place. Story-wise, I thought some things could have been left out. Everything to do with the farming just left me totally confused, and it seemed to be a little bit unimaginative, especially for a Nolan film. Some of the casting had me scratching my head too. Matthew Mcconaughey?! That just...no. I could see Christian Bale in a role like this, but not him. However, he does sell those emotional scenes pretty well. The part I was looking forward to mentioning the most, was the ending. Maybe it's just me, but that has got to be the most hokey, contrived ending to a sci-fi epic imaginable. I was actually kind of snickering, especially when he was in the hospital room and there's that whole warped baseball game and that house with the TV's and...oh my gosh! We are talking Lifetime Network levels here! But at the same time it felt like a dream, purely nonsensical and warped. Then at the last minute, I just felt confused again. This film is being jumbled all over the place, and I can't decide if in a good way or a bad way. Let me know your thoughts.
  4. I honestly don't think it's the amazing film that so many people have made it out to be. In fact, I wouldn't even put this is my top 20 favorite Disney films. The story is bland, all the characters are bland, even the music is bland! I can never emphasize enough how Elsa should have been a stronger character. If she was going to be the antagonist of the film, she should have been a straight-up villain. Why? It's a fairy tale! I know we have that whole villain reveal at the end, but he's not nearly interesting enough to be a great villain. The reason why I don't find Elsa interesting is that she doesn't feel like a complex character with complex and adult feelings, emotions, and motivations. She just feels like a teenage girl going through that teen girl phase of wanting to be herself but is afraid to show her true self to her peers. That's my #1 biggest problem with the movie, the writers portray Elsa's character in a way that only the young female audience can relate to. I wouldn't mind so much if they made her a more adult-like character. I would have found her more interesting if she had more anger inside her. Instead of just pushing Anna away from her, Elsa should have felt something against her, and wanted to take vengeance over her. When some teen girls feel like their special talents/gifts (or in this case powers) are unwanted, they may feel like they are unwanted. That can cause a whole bunch of raw emotions to well up inside. Then she would have a reason to lash in anger and then become more of a villain. That would be SOOOOO much more interesting. As for Anna, I guess I like her OK, but she could have been stronger too. Many talk about the fact that she waited so long to try and get her sister out of her room, and she never made an attempt to just LEAVE THE CASTLE! She could have at least pried Elsa out of that room and forced her to do something outside. I also think she could have been a bit more feisty. I know she's kind of feisty and adventurous enough, but I wouldn't mind if they made her even more so. As for the male characters...not even interesting enough to talk about. My favorite character is Olaf the Snowman! I remember watching the trailers thinking that he would be my least favorite character, but he turned out to be very funny with some very funny lines. He's also the most interesting and dynamic character to me. He's goofy, but also helpful (or at least tries to be). He's a sidekick character, but also can be a leader in a way. He knows when to be silly, but also when to be serious. Why couldn't the other characters be dynamic like him?! So my overall rating is 38/100. If you think I'm missing something, please don't hesitate to tell me.
  5. I think I would like to see: The Mane 6 ending a great war with an epic battle and thus beginning a new era...The Friendship Era Plus, the six become the new rulers of Equestria.
  6. Some ideas I've come up with. Let me know what you think? 1) A young prince’s family and kingdom is destroyed by an evil, all-powerful sorcerer, and can only be defeated by joining as many allies across the land as possible. Heroism, friendship, romance, and adorable creatures abound! 2) A high school sophomore with Asperger’s syndrome joins a new school with an inspirational teacher and a very extroverted girl to help him make life-long friends. A box of tissues will be necessary. 3) A ten-year old rocket scientist (you heard that right) helps find a way for men to finally live on other planets. It’s a space odyssey like you’ve never imagined! 4) Mars: home planet of men. Venus: home planet of women. When a woman encounters a man for the first time in history, only hilarity and very interesting results can ensue. 5) A group of friends accidently find a tunnel to an underground city where only children live and roam around. So many questions to be answered! 6) It’s 2030, and Tyler, a virtual reality gaming addict, eventually can’t determine reality from virtual reality anymore. Get ready for quite a psychological thriller!
  7. This is from the Nostalgia Critic's infamous review of "The Lion King"... "So, what problems do I have with the story that actually seems almost adult (in that it's from one of the most famous adult plays). Well, lets get to my biggest problem of the film: the message. Actually, the message I really like and I think it's a very adult message. I especially like it when he talks to Rafiki about it...It's really clever, and I'm totally behind it. What I'm NOT behind is that when he does go back to face his fears, his fears start to win. Everything he was taught before is suddenly working against him. Nobody even gets behind him, nobody's standing up for him. That is, until it turns out he didn't commit the crime that he thought he did. So, I guess the moral of the story is: never take responsibility for what you've done because nobody will be behind you, unless it turns out you didn't really do it? How is this confronting his past? It's a past that never happened, so it doesn't matter. Even when he thought he didn't happen, the movie didn't support him. Almost as if the film was saying if he did accidentally kill his father, he deserves to die! Nobody's on his side until [scar] comes out and says "Ha ha, it wasn't me." I'm sorry, but that's a serious flaw. And if you think it's something that my overanalyzing adult mind thought of, I was thinking of this as a kid too. This film didn't teach me to come forward with my mistakes and to take the responsibility for it. It taught me to convince people that I didn't do the mistake, because that way I'll have a happy ending. So, good intentions get totally botched. What else don't I like? Well, the songs. I know, but I'm sorry I don't like these songs. Well, I take it back: "Be Prepared" is awesome! "Circle of Life" is eh, good, but I think because of Hans Zimmer's orchestrations. "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", hate it! "I Just Can't Wait To Be King", hate it! "Hakuna Matata" holy **** balls, I hate this song! I hated it when it first came out. I was boggled by the fact that everybody was actually singing this. It's annoying! While I was constantly humming "Be Prepared" at school, the other kids were constantly singing "Hakuna Matata". On top of that, big shock, I think Matthew Broderick is pretty bland. Jonathan Taylor Thomas is a little bit too, but to be fair he's a kid and he really does sell those crying scenes. The villain while good is a little too simplistic. I don't know, he seems so smart and intelligent, but then when he takes over he seems like a little child. That just sucks out all the dignity and likeability that you have for a villain. It's like if Maleficent after she got her way started going, "na na na na na." There's also details like: how did the water come flowing back after Simba took over; why did the weather get better, why is it suddenly green? But, that's Disney logic. I can't complain much about it." So what do I agree with and what not? While the songs can be a bit contrived at times, they are still a lot of fun to listen to and sing along with. Though I'll admit I always thought "Hakuna Matata" was a little bit too much for my taste. While I'll admit the message is a tad bit flawed, it doesn't get in the way of the story as a whole. I'll admit Matthew Broderick is super bland as Adult Simba. I actually really like Scar! His childish personality goes well with his lust for power, and overall with his devious character. Let me know what you think.
  8. Quite honestly, I found it very underwhelming. There are some good stuff in it, but the majority I found to be very boring with just tons of filler. They really should have made MJ one three hour film, instead of a two parter.
  9. Personally, I would like him to sound like Merlin from Disney's "Sword in the Stone". He has a rather high pitched and comical tone. Also, Gandalf or Saruman-like would work well too.
  10. Who knows a really good fanfic about the history and legends about Equestria, such as creation of the world, how magic came to Equestria, where Rainbow magic came from, etc? Also, a timeline would be a nice bonus.
  11. What kind of MLP mini-games would you want in MLP 52...that are FUN TO PLAY!!!
  12. Anyone know what some of the best fan-made MLP RPGs are out there. I've heard of a few, but I would really like to know from you guys which ones are the most original and creative. Reason I ask is because I've had an idea for an RPG that could be really fun and epic. Still working out the story though.
  13. OVERALL - 85/100 STORY - 64/100 Touching, heart-wrenching, and great action. I think the ending could have been a bit different though. Instead of Madoka becoming just "a concept" with only Homura remembering her, she could have made a wish that witches and magical girls never existed and that all magical girls could be normal once again, even those who became witches. All five main characters would become friends once again, with the world as it should be. CHARACTER ENSEMBLE - 97/100! MADOKA - 66/100 Cute, caring, and loving like Fluttershy. Though I think she could have been a little stronger and more willing to fight. She kind of has the "Sailor Moon Syndrome" as I like to call it. SAYAKA - 80/100 Tough, feisty, stubborn, yet caring and well-intentioned like Rainbow Dash. Her courage is strong, yet her vulnerability is well fleshed out too. HOMURA - 67/100 Aww...Why couldn't I see more of the original Homura, the one who was very Fluttershy-like and very lovable? It was good to see Homura have a mysterious, deadpan side to her, but too much of it made her more of a dull character. Her moments shine whenever her vulnerability and love for Madoka is shown, then I related to her more. MAMI - 33/100 Darn it! Why couldn't I see more of her? She was killed off way too quickly. It's good to see one of the main characters die in sacrifice, but that was just way too quick. It would have been more powerful had she died later in the series. Other than that, she's kind, helpful, and good-spirited. KYOKO - 77/100 Haha, love this character. She's very well rounded showing her stubborn, snarky side as well as her broken side. She shines when she's ready to fight while putting her friends ahead of herself. ANIMATION/FIGHT SEQUENCES - 83/100 Imagine if the creators of Yellow Submarine were told they would be working on an anime series with creative fight sequences...this is probably what they would come up with. I only wish I could have seen a bit more. The only reason why I don't give this a higher score is because there's a lot more creative potential to be unleashed!
  14. Sounds like a FilmCow animated short. They made Charlie the Unicorn BTW. Fluttershy: Yeah. Woohoo.
  15. "Left Behind" in theaters. 19/100 Nicholas Cage wasn't Cagey at all, just pure blandness. It took an entire 25 minutes to get to the good stuff. There was nothing but boring character development at first. There was hardly any development anyway. The furniture in the background became more interesting! There are hardly any of the original plot points from the book. The Kirk Cameron version did a better job with that...THE KIRK CAMERON VERSION!!! The intense parts were pretty intense, I'll admit. Still, very forgettable. Most of the comedic parts failed miserably, except maybe a couple that had me chuckling. Overall, the message its trying to get across does so...OK, but not enough to have me go back and watch again. Overall...just a borefest. Just read the book.
  16. It's the story of Prince Charming...BEFORE he became charming.
  17. So what are your favorite YT memories, good and bad? "Its My Life" by Talk Talk was the first YT video I ever viewed back in about 2006. The most popular video I ever posted was of me wiggling my ears to the beat of "What Is Love" by Haddaway. The first YTP I ever viewed was about Cookie Monster going to the library. I searched for "Put Down The Duckie" from Sesame Street which was one of the things that defined my early childhood. My first moment of nostalgic joy via YT. I remember being very entertained by the infamous "Evolution of Dance" video. Today I find it just so-so.
  18. I hear so many awesome things about this classic. I never grew up with FF, so tell me which FF games were/are your favorites?
  19. I've had this idea for quite some time now. I'd like to know what you think, and what other ideas/improvements could be added upon... Fourteen-year old Prince Daniel is heir to the throne of the kingdom of Alphan (kingdom name needs work). The evil Raful (villain name needs work) has assassinated Daniel's father, the king, but Daniel escapes with a map and key to unlock a hidden kingdom, deep within the nearby forest. There Daniel discovers a magical kingdom of fairies called Gleama (kingdom name needs work) where he meets the King of the Fairies, his daughter Aurelius and his son Elijah. Daniel explains what has happened and asks for help. Aurelius and Elijah agree to aide Daniel to help recapture the throne from Rufan and his powerful forces. Along the way, Daniel meets his faithful, fairy tale companions: the skilled and agile Robin (Hood), the bubbly and joyful (Maid) Marian, the mischievous and smart-alecky Jack (and the Beanstalk), the broken yet beautiful Rapunzel, the hard-working and caring Cinderella, the fun-loving and daring Peter (Pan), the hilarious and narcoleptic Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and so many other colorful characters.
  20. Hmm, so this is part of the Season 5 premiere, huh? What could this mean?
  21. So Twilight Sparkle is SCI-TWI in the human world! What are you looking forward to seeing her do for future Equestria Girls installments?
