Well basically, much of the scientific community and those who put their faith in it, and for that matter US society at large, have lately been pushing the notion that a person's gender is not defined by his or her body. That is, if a man decides he identifies more as a woman, many of these people will recognize that and acknowledge him as a her. to choose what gender they would be identified as on their death certificate (although it may have been some other document). Basically, observation of someone's physical body is no longer considered sufficient to determine that person's gender. Yet people still unswervingly believe what scientists claim to have proven about the history of the universe, based solely on observations of the present.

to determine their gender, but observation of the present is regarded as sufficient to prove what happened thousands, millions, or even billions of years ago. And that irks me.
