  1. Okay!

Here's my audition, hope you like it!

Just a warning, my mic's not amazing but I'll be getting a good one soon.

Oh god, your Righty was so Fluttershy, my heart imploded xD

A bit less shy. She's not Flutters-level shy, but she can't really function well around people she doesn't know.

I would like to hear more from you, for both Righty and Bucky.

    Is that okay with you?

  2. An episode just about her sounds a bit too risky. ;)

Personally, I'd like her to talk more, but she should stay a background pony.

Her appearance in The Last Roundup was perfect, the one in Rainbow Falls was good but it would have been better to hear her voice again:

Overall, I like when she interacts with the mane 6, but an episode just about her would be too sudden.

It could be about Derpy messing things up around town (inadvertently and adorably), and everyone gets mad at her.

She gets upset and runs away, so the main 6 realize that they were being harsh, and track her down ans apologize.

It won't be a super-awesome epic adventure arc. Just, like, normal everyday stuff.

    Bump!

    New post from Derpy!

Get outta here with the "nopony is perfect" stuff.

Derpy is perfection. Just look at that adowable fwaice and those soulful eyes

My favorite derp art(which is best art)

  3. I just wish that sites weren't either 100% porn or 100% anti. I wish there were more sites that you could easily navigate between the two. My ideal site would be a age required (that way if people lie you aren't at fault), everything free to discussion (except terrorism etc.), and if you aren't 18 you can't touch the filter settings.

But yes Datte Clopping... such a common thing I wonder why it's even treated as a problem.Though I suppose the Brony fandom itself is divided into like 4 groups when it comes to clopping: The cloppers, the live and let live group, the close their eyes and pretend it doesn't exist group, and the burn all cloppers at the stake group. (I have belonged to each group at one point.) Honestly for a fandom based around harmony and friends we sure do love ripping ourselves apart.

We do it because, deep down, we're all candy colored equines.

Unrelated: /Check the latest message of your PMs.

  4. I just want a place where I can talk about clop tastefully with out having to go to the "scary" side of the web. I mean I do participate in off site groups, but they never really expand because they are closed communities and I can't find new cloppers to talk with. Then your stuck talking with the same 5-10 people and it begins to not feel like a commune of members, but a small exclusive club. I just love new ideas/views/thoughts but I can never openly find them on this side of the web and I've tried going to the other sites to find new people, but all that happens is I find really really really creepy people that scare even me. That's why I wish this could get hammered out, so that I could openly talk about this stuff.

Sorry friend, but this will never be the site for that...ever.

Mods could state the "future flamewars" or the "someone will PROBABLY post something NSFW later" reasons, and other users might say that it's "just plain wrong".

Whatever the case, it's not gonna happen peacefully in this forum any time soon

/now that you said the word "clop", this thread is going down for sure :P

  5. I don't want a simple blanket-all rule saying what is allowed and what is not. That'd be impractical and silly.

I want a sort of guideline or at least prolonged conversation that basically helps removes all (or most) personal prejudices and and sensitivities from the moderation equation.

It's definitely not easy. But again. Most good things aren't

  6. There is no strict line in the sense that any one example could encapsulate every case. The rule is applied on a case-by-case basis, though some are clearer than others (or should be, as the case may be). In the spirit of Justice Stewart, we know it when we see it. More specifically, though, context is by and large our guide.

But tell me, what guidelines would be sufficient? What would they entail? You've dedicated a lot of energy to decrying the current system, but I have yet to see you propose a suitable alternative.

That was not what was going on here. We had multiple members dragging in warning histories -- some of which were not even their own -- not out of academic interest but because of personal qualms. It was becoming a tremendous mess and distraction.

Hence why I said "generally speaking," which is to say in most cases but not all. We are not obligated under every circumstance to PM a member regarding offensive content.

The other fail-safes, i.e., PMing a moderator or submitting a support ticket, are still at your disposal.

    1. That's what this thread is for. To reach Geth consensus.

-Edited for "niceness", upon OPs request. You get off the hook for trying to downplay my POV. This time.-

I would propose a sit down and an active discussion within moderator circles about what would be BNSFW and what wouldn't.

It may be "hard", but most beneficial things are.

It's been drilled into my head around here (directly and indirectly) to keep it PG-13.

    View it from.that stand point.

    2. Hardly a distraction. At least not to me. It's more like...no, evidence is too strong a word.

    3. It definitely would be helpful.

Edit: beh. No need for that here.

  7. The difficulty with setting out strict guidelines for Borderline NSFW content is that such content does not always have a clear marker. People often have different standards of what is acceptable, borderline, or an outright violation of decency; thus I'm disinclined to believe a strict definition, if it were possible to render, would settle the matter beyond dispute. There would always be the potential for a case in which a final definition could not effectively cover, and a judgment would need to be made on the spot.

The best answer I can provide at present is this: Borderline NSFW comprises content which is made in poor taste and is inappropriate for general audiences. Someone might consider "Grammar Nazi" inappropriate, as it makes a comparison to a deplorable regime; on the other hand, general consensus -- and this where things get fuzzy -- is that the phrase is doesn't raise any offensive red flags in and of itself. If one were to start posting pictures of ponified Hitler, however, that would constitute inappropriate content. Posting photographs of corpses from concentration camps or mutilated animals would likely net a full NSFW warning.

In the end, though, we're caught between a rock and hard place. Someone might just find ponified Hitler funny and therefore not inappropriate. And posting lists of examples would invariably leave gaps for people question. ("Why is X subject considered borderline when Y is allowed?") Here we tread into the need for interpretation -- and though the current staff is far from perfect, its deliberations are rarely if ever made in undo haste.

And where is the line drawn for BNSFW picture of a "sexual" nature?

How does one decide what pushes the boundaries of taste in that?

I'm only going to say this once: everyone is free to discuss potential alternatives to the rules, but rehashing or challenging past warnings should be left to report tickets or PMs; furthermore, attacking each other is off-limits. Handle your personal grievances elsewhere, hopefully in a productive manner.

What better way to highlight a system that needs fixing, than by posting examples of times people got burned for ambiguous content?

People sharing these experiences will undoubtedly only further the argument of a clearer guideline.

    Not snarkyly.

Generally speaking, a member will receive a PM about such content, unless said content is considered outright NSFW or if the member in question has a history of ignoring the rules. We also have PMs and the support ticket system. These are the fail-safes designed to help prevent difficult cases from going unaddressed.

Fail safes that I, for example, did not receive.

No warning my post was removed, no stern talking to, just BAM. 250 warning points for a picture that was, even if you (generally) were the most sensitive man on Earth, is at most, PG-13 hand that's pushing it).

Further highlighting the inconsistencies that would be eased by some sort of reform.

    Respectfully.

  8. You left out some key details, such as the fact you posted the Nazi Rarity images with malicious intent and you left out the entirety of what you did in the Rarity Fan Club.

Yeahh, if you're going to side-step your own misdeeds to suit your own argument (which is a defense of yourself, btw) then I really can't say that your opinion matters much here. You left out so many things that there's no possible way you overlooked them.

Just thought I'd point that out, so later.

I posted what I did in the rarity fan club. I posted a single image of her as a zombie.

if your entire arguement is going to just resort to a character attack, then I'm done here. You have no argument, your opinion is more invalid than mine as all you want is some form of gratification. You don't care about the forums, and you left out a ton.

Good day sir, maybe once you grow up you can debate like an adult, untill then. Later.

I'm not gonna let this thread get shut down by some Mickey Mouse bullsh*t

Take it outside, the both of you

  9. I fully back a more clear BNSFW guideline.

I'm currently disputing a moderation over a a gif of Pinkie Pie shaking her butt.

Problem was, that it was an edited version of when Fluttershy was checking if she sat on Applejack in Bridle Gossip.

Edited as in, to look like Pinkie Pie.

No genitals. No nudity. Just show-quality pony butt.

I received the same punishment as if I would've posted pictures of skimpy-clad women making out. Ain't that some sh*t.

I'm orgasmically close to not trusting the forum in the hands of the people that protect it. The inconsistency of the punishments and punishable offences are too varied. Reporting doesn't work as well as mods would hope, as it only encourages backseat-moderation and for the oversensitive to flag posts they don't like. Some sap might even flag me for saying "orgasmically".

    I'm right, aren't I, mods?

So please. At least CONSIDER sitting down and hammering out a clearer BNSFW guideline, so the "justice system" (dunno what else to call it) doesn't have to rely on each person's tastes and sensitivities (whether during the reporting process or the actual moderation process).

As it is now, I'm hesitant to even post here anymore.
