  1. Most people who are depressed don't go on killing sprees.
  2. Being bubbly and adorable is likely how she deals with depression. Short of her actually explaining her problems, the best we can do is observe the circumstances, make assessments, and ultimately speculate. I just hate seeing her upset.
  3. I meant she's not insane in the sense everyone tries to see her as: vicious and bloodthirsty. Madness has many forms, and, more importantly, many sizes. One small slice is enough to make things seem "different". Depression is actually worse; the void of the mind is more terrifying than any gorefest.
  4. Pinkamena is not crazy. She's hurt. When she thought everypony abandoned her, she fell into a brutal despair that resulted in her trying to "make new friends". Rather than an insane inspiration, it was morose desperation in an attempt to ignore her own depression. Her memorable eye-twitch was from stress; she had no desire to harm anypony or fly into a rage. Like many of us, she just wanted to not be alone. Final note: "Cupcakes" is just a single fanfic that made a mountain out of dust. It has no bearing on Pinkie's actual personality.
  5. Fictional cladistics is just a fun hobby.
  6. There's something people tend to not notice about dinosaurs: they're animals, not monsters. Fluttershy would love the chance to make new friends, especially when they can help keep everypony safe against actual monstrosities.
  7. The Heart is the phylactery of the empire; it guarantees its continued existence. Through dark magic, he it made his as well; a "storage unit" of the soul. As cheesy as it sounds, love really is the best defense against "evil" (for lack of a better term). Cadence's powers center on that powerful emotion... but there's always a limit. She reached it.
  8. A former student who wanted more than he had, and fell into madness. Probably. Still, the fact his magical aura is almost identical to that of "alicorn magic", as demonstrated by Celestia, has to be more than coincidence. We'll just have to wait and see.
  9. Twilight didn't actually travel back in time; she just entered an astral state that showcased the past (which is why she couldn't interact with Celestia). Oh, sorry I forgot about her actual travel after she snuck into the library. Then again, one pony isn't that hard. An entire kingdom is unprecedented.
  10. Ironically, his easy defeat was due to his greatest advantage; the Crystal Heart. He basically turned it into a horcrux; that connection not only makes him essentially immortal, but would've been the major mechanic in his banishment of the empire. As long as it stays full of hope and happiness, the Heart will ensure the safety of the empire. If not...
  11. That would be better; carnivores have had enough trouble from humans.
  12. In this case, I'd prefer to be wrong. He scares the hell out of me.
  13. I'm not too fond of killing carnivores. Just a personal preference.
  14. Before he was first banished to the tundra, Sombra caused the Crystal Empire to disappear for one thousand years. A question arises: how? The most important clue is the memory of the Crystal Ponies; they felt as though not a day had passed since Sombra's reign (which they don't want to remember). Maybe they were right, in a sense... just like when Alduin was banished to the future by an Elder Scroll. If this is true, Sombra achieved the same feat as an Elder Scroll, by himself.
  15. Killing one would be bittersweet to me.
  16. 100-500 feet, on average. I feel the need to thank you. I'm always on the search for more extreme archosaurs, and your info is invaluable.
  17. I already acknowledged dragons beating dinosaurs, and I'll admit I don't know that much about Godzilla. Linnorms eat dragons on a regular basis, and an Ursa Major is still smaller than the largest varieties, especially dread linnorms and corprse tearers.
  18. Linnorms. Side notes: the false palate is fleshy (like in phytosaurs and earlier crocodilians), and Godzilla is just a mutated lizard. Also, looking at the dragon skeleton, the femur is unbent (unlike in dinosaurs) and is in what's known as the pillar-erect stance; exclusively crurotarsan.
  19. Visual analysis of dragons from all stories and continuities. The false palate (a crurotarsan adaption) is vital for preventing breath attacks from backfiring into the gullet. Every skeleton I've ever seen shows their ankle and hip structure to be definitively crurotarsan. The adaptions of hollow bones and beaks may seem to be avian, but one Triassic group of crocodile-relatives reveals this to be a convergent adaption: the ornithosuchians. Basically, crurotarsans that evolved to look and act just like dinosaurs. I'll admit, a dragon's rage is more lethal than an appetite, and Ursa Majors seem invulnerable... until the ultimate archosaur appears. Obviously not in MLP; that would be more than a bit much for children, and many adults, to be honest.
  20. Dinosaurs are also archosaurs; their relationship isn't direct. Dragons are crurotarsans, more closely related to crocodiles. Dinosaurs are ornithodires, with pterosaurs being their most immediate kin (aside from living birds). As for them being "lacking" in comparison to dragons, very little could be further from the truth. Given the choice between fighting a fire-breathing dragon and a pack of deinonychus, I'd take the choice that lets everyone in a five-mile radius know exactly where he is before he started stroking his vanity with death threats and wasteful grandeur. Dragons have a pathetic weakness; dinosaurs are just hungry.
  21. Fun fact: dragons and dinosaurs are related. Along with crocodiles, and a whole host of animals apparently no one has ever heard of (rauisuchians, silesaurs, the list goes on). The simple fact Hasbro is still making a show that's been vilified and ridiculed with such cruelty, yet still grows, is reason enough for hope. With at least five years of FIM waiting to be seen, dinosaurs would be far from the most unusual sight.
  22. According to focus groups, men don't like cute ponies. Look how that turned out.
  23. Like Earth, birds are everywhere in Equestria; anyone with even an inkling of natural history knows they're actually the last surviving members of Dinosauria. By that logic, their relatives may have once roamed the very lands now inhabited by ponies. Maybe some lucky explorer will find their fossils in the Badlands or just outside Appleloosa... is that too much of a stretch?
