NO WHY WOULD YOU GIVE HIM GORGOROTH Also, grindcore isn't a good starting point. I'd recommend starting with heavier thrash, really. In other news, Technically screamo but they did a split with Pig Destroyer so it's ok.

Uh, you sure this isn't metalcore? It doesn't sound like the post-hardcore I listen to, lql. Also, you need to work on your voice. I know that the standard voice quivering is commonplace through out post-hardcore, but your screams sound weak at points. And that solo seemed really unnecessary. :T A lot of stuff could be improved here.

What are you talking about I can't even There is no pig squealing there. Grindcore is one of the best metal subgenres evah. @, delving deeper into black metal. Today I went with Make A Change... Kill Yourself, Darkthrone, and I relistened to some Mayhem because I like that stuff.

*growled. Huge difference between screamo vocals, and growling. Eh, I liked their first album more, ya know? The guitar playing seemed more lively, and the lyrics were WAY better. Though the vocals have improved. -

BUT PLAYING ABILITY IS SUBJECTIVE AND IF SOMETHING IS SUBJECTIVE THEN THERE IS NO DEFINABLE "BETTER". I mean, look at bands like Metallica. They are actually pretty shitty musicians, yet they influenced an entire genre with their playing style. Now if their technicality goes to send a message, that's a different story. Like, with Meshuggah. On Catch 33, a lot of it was just experimenting with "soundscapes" and almost drone-like patterns, in strange, technical time signatures. Compare that to an artist like Joe Satriani, which is basically musical masturbation, and the differences are evident. Or maybe I'm taking something too literal. :T Did you listen to LiveLoveA$AP yet?

Eh, they aren't as expressive as the other genres, though. Though grindcore's rating is totally biased because of how much I like it. Yet with black metal, there are tons of sub-subgenres, like atmospheric, depressive, post, blackgaze... which mean a lot more than say, deathcore. Artistic value > technical
