Did Celestia have the Mayor evict the prior Librarian? Is there a poor homeless Pony wandering Equestria right now because of this?

This whole cannon vs. non-cannon thing is completely nebulous and arbitrary. This argument has been raging among Star Wars and Star Trek fans in forums, IRC, and conventions ever since the first piece of supplemental material was published decades ago. Hell, Disney just officially declared all Star Wars books no longer cannon. Guess what? Some fans are ignoring that. If an entire group of Bronies want to think something different about Nightmare Moon or Sombra than was is presented in the comics, then they are justified in that approach.
And yes, you can ignore something you don't like in cannon. Examples abound.

I ran across one of his videos in a suggested YouTube search. Reviews are not my thing, but the video I saw had more thoughtful analysis on MLP than some I've seen covering Emerson. Any fan community benefits from reviewers like this.
Hasbro typically works through a standard DMCA C&D process. Send a letter, copy the host, wait for compliance, if no compliance then request action from the host. Actually, it's a bit more fair and lenient than some others. What happened here sounds like Google/YouTube Automated ID system caught something it didn't like. It could be related to a hack. There is also a phishing scam that is similar to Dr. Wolf's story, so YouTube may have nothing to do with this.
Also, his videos are almost perfect text book examples of Fair Use in the US and Canada. It just takes and ungodly amount of time, energy, and money to fight this sort of thing legally.
And Google, if this is you, please re-read your slogan.

1. I agree with the position you make about Star Swirl vs. Discord
2. I only partially agree with the rest of your connecting and closing argument. Art belongs to the observer/viewer/reader and Authorial Intent can be disregarded at will more often than not. That applies to fans that ignore the comic continuity. That opinion is just as valid as those that consider both mediums cannon.
3. Yes there are exceptions to #2. If you say Huck Finn was a pro slavery story, then you are wrong.

I hate to admit it, but the Cafeteria Song did.

The episode were the cutie mark crusaders had twilight time I felt gave it away. I think Apple Blossom's CM will be something to do with science, like plant science, aka; apples or some science CM. Scootaloo's should be a scooter! Sweetie belle is going to be something with magic! =]
Just got an image pop in my head of and Apple with Pi on it.

I have to agree with IceBeerG. If you are not going to start with a character driven story (and it sounds like you are not) then it's hard to give any ideas with substance. Are to talking about a protagonist, a walk on, or are you thinking maybe a duoagonist that is featured along side other established characters?
A good rule of thumb is to create a character that allows for conflict. That means external and internal. The depth in which allow yourself you probe these conflicts depends on how it services the story.
Also, define motivations. What does the character want? Is there anything at stake if he or she fails?
Many beginners usually create an MC that is a basic avatar of the writer. Try not to do this. It's been said by greater authors that the writer needs to be in the background only.
Anyway, if you can be more specific about the type of story you want to tell (no plot details) I may be able to offer better advice that the generic concepts above.

I have family in Glenn Burnie so I'm keeping my options open. When does it normally sell out?

I can't define what Love is. I can define around it, and explain what it does. Defining love (or what it means to me) without symbolism, smarm, and metaphor is almost impossible. For me the love feel for different people is unique. It's own flavor in a way (SEE WHAT I MEAN).
Sigh.
You know what, I'm going to take the easy way out and paraphrase an old SCOTUS Justice, "I know it when I
seefeel it." Which is interesting considering what he was talking about.-_-

I see the historical Celestia and Luna part mythical God and part Realm Protector leaving each territory to be fairly governed by their own leadership.
Mane Six have been acting more like Realm Protectors due to the events in the show. I image Celestia being on edge in the time period between NMM being banished and her return, what with her mystical macguffin useless to her now.
Reconciling the other Alicorns with this hurts my head, which is probably why the writers leave it as unexplained as it is. They have a hard time creating a digestible explanation too. I can imagine McCarthy throwing something across the table at Polsky when brainstorming of ideas like this and just saying, "No!"

Ha. I can see Mayor Mare rallying against consolidation and failing, just like Brooklyn.

Pinkies Lament. Her character really needed a song like PL this season. If not for this, and the Maude Pie episode she really would have gone underdeveloped.
Also, where's Spikes Cloudsdale anthem?

Love this topic. From what we understand of the universe right now, there are limits. That is the key -- our current understanding. Each year we expand our knowledge and each new question answered births new theories. String Theory is one example of some crazy approaches to things that used to be taken for granted. Do I see humans ever achieving faster than light travel? Yes. Not through any conventional means, and not without unlocking a few secrets in quantum mechanics and dark energy. It also will NOT happen for a very long time. Do I think we will ever be able to explore all of space. NO. Space expands faster than light, so we can't even see past the observable universe. Also, I do believe that the universe will over expand, or collapse at some point (Great Rip, Great Crunch, or Big Freeze).
The question I have is this: when we achieve our greatest pinnacles of technology and knowledge, is existence fulfilled? Would Homo Sapiens even be our species?

In the US, just silly gender stereotyping, I guess. I also did not experience any hard racism that many people unfortunately have to deal with. The closest thing was that when I went with my father on a trip to Europe after I graduated High School, I experienced some passive aggressive anti-American sentiment. That was during the Clinton era, so I can imagine what things were like in the 2000's if you went abroad. Thinking about that trip also reminds me political discrimination and stereotyping is prevalent.

It's really hard to say exactly. My earlier memories playing games may actually be of Arcade games like Popeye, Tron, Donkey Kong, Q*bert, and Dragon's Lair. At the same time I used to play Atari VCS games like Frogger, River Raid, Pit Fall, and Beserk. There was also a series of games set in worlds based on various elements but I can't remember their names.

@TheMarkz0ne - Of course Epigenetics are real. It occurs in all eukaryotes during CD (I can't believe I can spell eukaryotes without looking it up, but used the wrong spelling for canon. Sigh). I actually used the term thinking of behavioral epigenetics, since gender identity was the topic, and the distinction between these were viable. You can't alter your DNA, but we now know that it isn't the end all anymore.
I don't get the second part though. Are you talking about using allele expression to augment human features, abilities, health, etc.?

No argument from me. I may disagree with your point of view, but I'm not one to marginalize. I realized that I may be have been insensitive to the original poster by making my first reply was a ridiculous one. I saw that this might actually be a serious topic so I wanted to address it that way for the benefit for the OP.
We cool.

Good point, and one that JD Salinger made when he was horrified that critics were over analyzing his works. Salinger honestly feared that the day would come when someone would not pick up a book and read just for the words and the story. In other words, he wanted us to read for the sake of reading, to lose yourself, and enjoy.
As much as I sat here and said, debate and analyze away, I realize that I watched two seasons of this show in one week without once trying to find hidden meanings, or missed opportunities. I watched for fun.
Also, I just realized I used both Shakespeare and Galileo to illustrate a deeper meaning in defense of a cartoon. I believe that is what they call laying it on a little thick.

Not sure I exactly agree with that. I mean, yes genetically the sex chromosomes are different, but individuals are more than a genetic starting point. We are formed by genetics that can't change, and others that can (epigenetics), by conditioning, and experiences, and applying the things that we come across on a daily basis, we define ourselves. I see no problem with identifying with another gender.
I genuinely feel for someone who feels like their are a prisoner in their own body.

As much as I like the female Antagonists.................we need male antagonists (Sombra and Discord.....are just...eh). We need somepony...............stronger and much more powerful, and most of all..................................................intelligent.
HINT: Watch the villain this Saturday, is more neutral evil than Chaotic/Lawful Evil.
Agreed. Are you expecting a more typical big bad with less ambiguity, or just someone amoral and indifferent, or both?
