  1. My home town is Philly and I don't live there anymore for a reason. I enjoy my current city because of the basics. Low crime, lower taxes and cost of living, good schools for the kids, and Orlando is only about a 75 minute drive.

It's boring compared to Philadelphia, but that is why they invented planes.

  2. @Dattebayo I hate the term too. Same with what the furries use.

To answer your question, cloppers could fall under a few categories, but I do not think that there is a philac term for them that easily fits. The same for furries. All I know is that zoophile mentality is a lot different than the Bronies that create and view the x-rated images. Putting it simply, wanting to put to moves on Fido isn't in the same ballpark as looking at a cartoon pony. It's not even the same bloody sport.

  3. The team that runs the Social Media accounts for companies are almost always part if the marketing, customer service, or PR department. If this becomes a trend, it could mean MANY things. Maybe they are looking to market better to the adult fandom. Maybe they want to better gauge reactions to the finale and the upcoming movie/side series.

  4. Yep, this is a weird topic. I also have to admit that some of the Pony avatars have reactions that almost fit the post.

Anyway. I have an IT degree, but a Minor in Psychology.  I bring that up, because the psychology of sexual fetishes appears to have been a vogue subject since someone here mentioned studying deviant fetishes as well. The s*** I learned in that class, and how common it is, shocked the living hell out of me at the time. Anyway, while zoophilia, schediaphilia, plushophilia, yiffing, and clopping, and petplay may have shared similarities and could conceivably be grouped in a sexual fantasy version of a taxonomic nomenclature, there are worlds of difference behind the motivation and desires that separate them.

If I posted the studies showing how many men fantasize about raping women during sex, many of you would lose all faith in our species. Same for the number of women who have ravishment fantasies and dreams.

I also voted 'wrong' ... because zoophilia is just plain disgusting. The rest of the ones mentioned in this thread as linked to zoophilia are odd, but understandable and mostly innocent.

I wish I could undo that course. I so wish I could have just Minored in Business.

  5. No.

I don't have an issue with them throwing in a well made OC of a popular Brony who is active in the community as a background Easter egg, or like they did this season for Make A Wish, but those should be rare.

And even as I type this I'm having doubts. But I would not want an OC centric story. Laws no, M-O-O-N spells bad concept.

  6. I agree with Tara Strong on this one. It's nice to have villains. You can make her sympathetic in a sense, but not reform her. I love the Mother Changeling song because it straddles the line between her role as a Queen and responsible for her subjects (children) and other antagonistic tropes.

Maybe reform some of her children, but not her.

  7. It could also have a positive effect on the state of the fandom in general. Anyway, I don't really have an opinion about this to be honest. I don't see this impacting the FiM directly if the main show continues to be a funnel for merchandise sales. I believe that there are different development teams on this, so quality should continue. My 13 year old rolled her eyes, but my 14 year old is hoping for a more anime influenced design style.

A animated show about humans in college doesn't sound like it would appeal to me, but then again, who the heck knows. My animation tastes are all over the damn place. BUT, If this turns out to be of the same quality of Monster High and Bratz, I doubt I would watch for long.

  8. I may have a love for the classics (Pac Man, Q*Bert, Tron, etc) ... there was one game that I wasted the most quarters in with all my friends at my side.

This is my all time favorite, just from the camaraderie, anticipation, and yes even the arguments of pizza theft.

  9. 1. Santa Claus

    2. "No, Kriminalrat Färber. I have found nothing."

    3. I'm all in

These are all examples of various types of innocent, or even noble lies. The whole black and while concept of lying of any form being immoral is ridiculous.

  10. Fandom burnout happens. For me there are times of the year that I have to naturally scale back hobbies and interests, so that helps to keep me from feeling like I need to take a break to deal with over saturation.

MLP may actually be different down the line for several reasons. Right now it's is a new interest for me and I have years of content to absorb. It's also one that my kids enjoy and actively lobbied for me to take a look at the show and fan content, so being something I share with my daughters may stave off any doldrums.

  11. A Podcast I listen to, This Week In Law, routinely has legal guests that advocated for significant punitive damages should an individual successfully challenge a DMCA takedown under Fair Use laws. Also, additional Safe Harbor protections for ISP's and hosting companies. They have them now, but they are vague and have been interpreted multiple ways.

Not sure I believe that there is an easy solution. Companies do have a right to protect their Intellectual Property, and on the other hand, removing Fair Use material is a violation of free exchange of ideas. This, patent trolling, and net neutrality are the biggest 'tech' issues that lawmakers have to grapple with in the coming years.

Either way, I hope that this user gets his content back online.
