Suddenly, Selene takes a brief, glazed expression, her face going blank for a few moments before returning to normal.

 

"... How do you pull the trigger if you don't have any fingers? Or, well, any method of fine manipulation, for that matter."

She stares at the weapons, specifically the knife... She seems interested in that, at least a bit.

 

"... Ahem. Uh..."

She pauses again, looking at the tall, strange thing in front of her... Like a pony, but too big to be a pony... Maybe he's one of those horses from the north that she heard about?...

With a serious look, she makes eye contact with Hotshot, furrowing her brow a bit at you.

You don't... like us, do you?...

"... Well, uh, sorry Scarlett. I thought something was actually wrong..."

"Nein,nein, these are not from your parts. This is the best weaponry my millitary branch has to offer. Better than anything your equestrian army has I presume, why would've we been hired then." he smirks, "you got 3 pistols, 2 SMGs, one automatic rifle, one sniper rifle, grenades for different purposes, a few mines, one heavy MG, combat knives, my favorite;" he grabs a weapon that was floating in front of him,"The Stg44, assault rifle, first of its kind. Combining the rate of fire of an SMG with the range and accuracy of a rifle, 7.92mm, 30 per magazine." he says pulling the loading mechanism on the weapon then moving to the side gesturing towards his bag that was still on the floor,"as well as an Einstossflammenwerfer 46 in there... a flamethrower. We were told to be prepared for anything, ya?"

Suddenly, Selene takes a brief, glazed expression, her face going blank for a few moments before returning to normal.

Selene scurries out of the way of his steps, running towards the "quiet pony", Selen pretty much being a purple and yellow blur of startled fishpony. She hops onto Scarlett's back, immediately blending in as she camouflages herself into the red and purple mare's fur, along with the surrounding Ancient metals.

I stopped a few meters behind the little thing, knowing full well she might have found something dangerous on-board.

 

 

"Now keep it down, she may have actually found something."

Suddenly, Selene wheels around, briskly trotting through the ship, taking a few turns, before seemingly changing her mind and turning again, before eventually arriving at the sleeping quarters. She walks in, circles around... and immediately stops at a sleeping Hotshot, hissing quietly.

"It's coming from here."

"Apparently you did. Just tell me if you start growing a horn would you?" I said, just before taking off after the vashti.

You find her not so far off down the hall, stalking around. Her body is rather hunched, revealing her shoulderblades as she hisses idly, constantly looking to one side, then to another, licking her fangs every so often. She seems to be hunting for this "new voice" she heard...

"What is that thing!?"

Selene suddenly whips around, jumping before hissing and chittering at you, clouds of dust poofing up in strange ways as she keeps on doing the angry cat thing.

"Selene, what's wrong?"

"Shut up!... Somebody's here... I can hear them, I don't like it... nobody new should be here, why are they so loud?..."

She growls quietly, hunching down and stalking down the corridor.

Suddenly, Selene rolls off of Scarlett's back, hissing with a slightly purple tone of skin. Her pupils are, very unusually, contracted into predatory, vertical slits. She stands like a threatened cat, tail sticking up into the air as she stalks down the hallway, hissing all the while.

Don't bother quoting me. I check every notification I get.

"Oh don't worry, I won't do anything without you two by my side."

 

I got up and began to leave my room, thinking about the gateroom. All of a sudden, I was walking into the gateroom. Bloody magic. Take me back! 

 

I was back in my room and I then stepped out into the corridor hub. I began to make my way to engineering.

Immediately upon arriving at said engineering room, you find Selene curled up in the middle of the doorway, snoring peacefully. The cool grey of her skin might have blended in with one of the Equestrian ships, or with gravel and stone on a beach, but on the Destiny, the bronzes and silvers of Ancient materials cause her to stand out like a sore hoof... or, in your case, a sore horn.

@@Harmony.exe, To say Specter was at a slight loss for words would be rather accurate. Flabbergasted being a more appropriate choice term. Health and Safety risks involved with sleeping in here are numerous. Having to do something about this, Specter hovered close to the Land Fish, as he had taken to describing her in his head, ear and spoke stern but softly. "Excuse me. I don't really think you should be sleeping down here. It's a little bit dangerous. For a number of reasons. If you wouldn't mind moving to a bedroom or the somewhere more acceptable for sleeping, I'd appreciate it."

The Land Fish pauses, regarding you with a sleepy blink, groggily getting up onto its feet, walking outside in a swaggering, carefree manner... and immediately flopping down in front of the doorway, curling up in the same comfy ball as it was earlier.

You notice the strange fish-creature from earlier, walking into the engineering room... and then lying down, yawning and curling up into a cool-gray ball of flesh. The verminous little meatbag has fallen asleep, in such a delicate area no less! Most robots would be outraged, I think.

"Selene!" I shouted before grabbing her in my magic and disbanding the hug. I brought her close to me and had her face me. "Are you all right?"

Selene blinks and shakes her head, not to say 'no', but just to shake.

"Ablblblblblblblblblblbl. I'm... fine. Oof... C'mon, why'd you have to move out of the way like that? I was just gonna hug you... really aggressively and fun-like, so it's even better than a normal hug!~"

Selene just rubs the little bump where she hit the wall, getting back up.

When you attempt to approach, you notice that Selene seems to have had ideas revolving around bringing the hug to you. Of course, as she leaps to glomp you, the ship lurches forward with her in mid-air, knocking her off-target and sending her crashing into a wall.

I felt a small shock ripple though the nearby area of the ship, and a rather large thud. I gently nudged Selene, saying "Talk about a bad pilot. Maybe I would have done better after all."

 

 

"Oh no. Totally. We thought we were all going to die, so we had a party and ate all the food and drank all the water. Don't be surprised if there is piss everywhere either."

Selene snickers, turning a brief yellow-green. The little vashti sways her tail around, being perched on Scarlett's back quite comfortably, riding the larger pony as she waits for the perfect chance to strike~. However, you don't have any real issues carrying her, as I may have mentioned earlier. She's quite light.

I opened up the Destiny's communications to the shuttle again and said "Hey, are you guys on your way back yet? Once we're out of this star's electromagnetic field, Destiny will most likely jump back into it's Faster than Life state." I paused for a moment. "Just hurry up."

"Faster than life? Is that gonna kill us? Or maybe we'll just have to wait a long time to catch up with the ship..."

Selene takes a few moments, wracking her brain as she tries to think of the implications of such a thing. Suffice to say, she's apparently not having much luck with processing that...

"What the-- you think I'm lying?!" Solar growled, her scowl returning to stare Flame down, "I'll show you who's lying!"

 

She swooped down and grabbed his head in her hooves, then nearly slammed it onto the control console near the intercom.

"Mom, Selene! One of you say a thing!"

"What do you mean a fashion sense? Theyre stars. It's not exactly in their nature to wear clothes."

 

I say down on the ceiling beside her and a quiet alarm sounded in my ears as well as most likely in my suit. I knew what it meant "Well. It appears that I have survived yet another year. Welcome year 116."

"Yay! Happy birthday, Scarlett!~"

Selene giggles and hugs you in celebration, turning an excited goldenrod in response to this momentous occasion. It's not like you'll all just find another way to be doomed to death aboard this ship or anything... I mean, really...

I flopped back a moment, absolutely astounded by the question pronounce by the little 'fish pone' as I had begun calling her in my head. What did stars taste like?  I performed a quick gravity spell and landed next to her on the ceiling. "If you were to ignore the fact that stars such as this are so hot, it's safe to say your tongue would be very, and I repeat, very; badly burnt. Stars such as this are at a stage in which they are mostly hydrogen and helium, which are both colourless and tasteless gases. So, to put it simply, this star would be completely tasteless."

Her little head-nubs flop like confused pony ears, as she takes a moment to process all of that unfiltered, thick, fresh-from-the-tap SCIENCE.

"Uh... okay then. So, stars have no taste...

Does that mean that they're really rude and don't have a fashion sense?~"

Selene's eyebrows crawl up her forehead as she adopts a cheeky expression.

"I swear to God if you start calling Destiny 'Nom Nom' or 'Star Gobbler' I will go and find alternate versions of you to come over and bitch slap you both. Anyway, get your adorable asses into the shuttle and get back here! We've got no time to lose, I think we have about 20 minutes before we jump so it's going to be very close. "

"I wonder if stars would taste good if they weren't so hot?"

Selene rolls off of you and clambers up the wall and onto the roof, yawning quietly as she walks around in a vertical circle a few times, seemingly waiting for everyone else to come back on the shuttle.

Solar snarled at Lightning, Flame and Sapphire's comments for her to calm down. "I have every perfect reason to be salty right now, thank you very much. The whole reason I didn't do much back on that ship was because nopony ever gave me anything to do!"

 

 

 

She blinked and looked up at Specter, who told her to come to the cockpit of the shuttle. With another indignant snort to her arguers, she trudged after the robot to the front of the ship.

 

"What is it?" She grunted.

You immediately hear Selene as she hops onto Scarlett's back and shouts into the microphone.

"HEY LADY! WE'RE NOT DEAD!~... You should probably get everyone over there to turn around and come back onto the ship, cuz it turns out that we were actually supposed to go into the sun."

I stared outside at the fiery abyss. "The lava is deeper in the star. If we flew through that we would get stuck."

 

As suddenly as it had started, the event ended as we emerged from the star. After a few moments of drifting, the whole ship shook as the engined came back online and started to push the ship forwards.

 

"To engineering!"

You see little more than a cartoonish blur as Selene sprints down the hall, heading over to engineering. Damn, she's a speedy little thing!... Maybe that could be useful later on, for sending messages around if you don't have access to the radio system or the ship's communication arrays.

Not really.

 

Think. If the shields are being powered by the same type and amount of energy that are trying to get past them, the equal forces keep the shield stable.

 

Basic science. Energy conservation.

Well, good thing you're here to handle the science, so that I can be lazy~

"Yea, we need to do that!" I said before going to stand directly in front the window. I jumped up and leant on the railing, looking at the star we were flying through. To do this yet not feel anything of heat or gravitational forces, it's astounding. How did they do it?!

Selene watches you quietly, looking out at the inside of the star as well.

"Wow... it's like... a cave, but made out of fire and lava and stuff..."

She just continues staring quietly, the lights coming back on in the background while you two marvel at the scene before you.
