Well, when it comes to the Dakar and similar rally raids, Yamaha is pretty much the dominant force in quads. With maybe one or two exception, Yamaha usually fills out the top-five.

Motorbikes, though, has usually been the territory of KTM and, recently, Honda, though the likes of Yamaha, Sherco, and Husqvarna have been knocking on the door. But yeah; agreed. The rider can very much make the difference at times.

So long as Yamaha is a dominant force at all, that is enough to make me happy.

KTM has taken alot of science from Yamaha, actually, whereas Honda is a definite opposer. Husqyvarna, though, is entering new territory. Used to be that Husqys were heavy, non-race quad/bikes, built for trails and such mostly. I'm glad to know that they've expanded their territory and have been competing in races. My mother's Zero Turn mower is a Husqvarna (though, the engine is a Brigg...

(Though, the engine is a Briggs and Stratton, of course).
