"Why yes, this is the registration desk. This..." The mare behind the desk hadn't quite looked up yet, busy printing very delicate information onto a list via quill. When she finally did, she fell silent, staring at the mare across from her for a moment. She had seen no fair share of strange things working at the desk at Bangcolt - all of the registration staff members had- but she had to admit this one was new, even for her. Still, nothing too odd, she thought, as she cleared her throat, reforming her composure.

"...This is where fighters sign in, in order to be entered into the tournament. If you're not registering, you may go through those doors, and immeadietly exit into the city." She pointed a hoof to the door a little off to the side and behind her, beyond her desk. "If you are, then that means you'll be here with me. Write down your name on this list..." Using her magic, she drew up the appropriate sheet of paper, and laid it out on the desk in front of the mare. "And there-afterwards, you'll receive a special dog tag, signifying that you're one of Bangcolt's tournament contestants. Special benefits come with this as well; fighters receive free housing in the form of the fighters quarters, located nearest here. You'll also be able to dine or use any other one of the public facilities free of charge, unless otherwise stated. One of the benefits given for your courage in choosing to fight in the arena, and the money you'll be generating on fighting for this fair city."

She smiled. "Anything else that I can help you with, before you continue?"

Luna''s ears perked up as she slept, at the distinct sound of a window being broken into. Her window, judging by the direction and volume of the noise. Along with a voice, and one that sounded familiar, she figured that somepony had just attempted to enter her room, and was now inside, with her. For that pony's sake, Luna thought, she hoped that they were familiar.

"...So you've entered into the room of one of the royal sisters." Luna stood up, facing where she had last heard the voice extend from. The solid navy blue curtains draped around her bed prevented her from seeing outward, but she had a pretty good indication they were still out there. "An action which appeared to be no trouble to you." Her eyes closed, as she began to draw magic in, preparing for one of any number of intense combative spells that she had learned throughout the centuries. "The question is now, however, what will you do, now that you've found one?" Her tone dropped an octave, carrying a dangerous heir to it. "And now that they've found you?"

Over at the table, Temperance caught sight of the stallion Copper Strikes waving at her, and waved back. The condescending tone couldn't be missed. Twilight certainly caught it, as she raised a single eyebrow at the filly's actions. Not to mention the fact that there was a filly in the competition, anyways. But she kept silent. She'd seen more than enough to know that appearances weren't anything to go by. And thinking otherwise could be dangerous.

"Well... that's certainly interesting." She tilted her head slightly, then returned to looking at Copper Strikes. "Glad to know we have competitors of all shapes and sizes, here."

As Temperance finished waving at the stallion, another one passed by her. She watched as he casually popped a piece of jerky into his mouth, and waited until he finished before deciding to speak to him. "You should really try the pastries! They're delicious!" Her tone was bright and chipper, just like her smile. But under the surface, there seemed to be something surging. An overwhelming tone of superiority, and condescension...

Just thought i'd mention, mare is a bit of a strange term to use around Temperance. From the perspective of someone viewing her in the RP, she's actually about the same size and body build as one of the CMC members. And a bit of an overgrown child herself, in behavior and mannerisms.

"Applejack..." Twilight paused, before giving a heavy sigh; she knew that once Applejack got like this, there was no convincing her otherwise. "...So. Copper Strikes. You got here before us, which means you must've been around already. Any other interesting contestants that you've seen, thus far?"

Temperance had still been at the snack table playing around with her flames, when she caught Fluttershy passing by some distance away from her. The flames disappeared, as she looked over in flat interest. She didn't approach.

"So that's... "kindness." " She looked over at the mare, at least a head higher than her, and the dismissive stare intensified. "...I'm not impressed."

So, we've been talking it over with Guts, and he's been reporting that you're not all that bad at RP'ing. Great, actually. Given the circumstances, and the rather long wait (which we're sorry for) that you were willing to go through, I see no issue with letting you into Bangcolt's RP. Welcome; you've made it.

So what do you all think would be a good point for Luster to enter this story so as not too interrupt what anypony else is doing? 

Works for me. And, not too much is going on right now. If you want, though, you can always have her show up at the registration desk to get signed in with the receptionist, and we'll take it from there.

"Well..." She stopped, thinking hard to herself. "Most typically, myths and conspiracies are just that; myths and conspiracies. They may be based on an ounce or two of truth, but most often, the stories are based on something simple, then blown way out of proportion. But, if you say you've somehow adopted this form..." She tilted her head to the side. "Then I suppose its real. Whether the legend is accurate or not, it's pretty obvious that your abilities are; i'd take that for what it is."

In MLP, being able to move the sun and moon doesn't necessarily translate into either fighting prowess or power; it's magic.

 

It's energy. And just like everything that involves reactions to energy, or energy exchanges, these things can be judged, and judged well; whether it's MLP magic, or ki, or reiatsu, cosmic energy...

And in this event, I say MLP magic, which is distinguishable from other magic in that the users actually take the energy from their own bodies in use for these spells. No wands, no potions, they don't pull it from the air; they are the direct conduits for their own magical processes, meaning any energy that is used for spells can be attributed to them. Twilight picks up an Ursa, or freezes an army, she's actually picking up an Ursa, or freezing an army, with her own energy. And in the case of the celestial sisters, the same thing applies. Just on a much larger scale.

Celestia and Luna were both defeated / likely overpowered by plants.  PLANTS.  Does that mean that said plants were nearly as powerful as Tirek?

PLANTS as strong as Tirek? No. That's pretty ridiculous. But, by the same token, PLANTS as strong as Celestia and Luna, when we've seen what even the most bare minimum unicorns are capable of? What Twilight knew in season one being under Celestia's tuttelage, at the school that she personally founded. We saw Applejack slice through a vine much thicker than the one that grabbed Celestia; are we assuming that she's somehow weaker than Applejack? This one scene in particular not only doesn't make sense when you take it at face value, it actually proves my point; judging Celestia by lowball feats like the one above isn't an accurate way to judge her. You have to use her most consistent feats. Which is raising the sun and moon for a thousand years.

 That was pure destructive power; no physics-ignoring, rule-breaking magic involved.

Fun fact: despite a high majority of fights between all of these planet busters (and serious fights, I might add) occuring on Earth itself, the Earth itself in DBZ has only been destroyed a total of... once. (twice, if you count super). Other than that, it's mostly been just islands or mountain ranges being blown to shreds, which in itself ignores the law of proper energy exchange rates (where is the rest of it going?). And you could come up with an excuse to how it's compact energy, or they're holding back to try to conserve the planet (which goes against a high majority of the villains characters, but you could), but then you'd be on my level. Purely combative/ destructive feats are not always how you judge a characters abilities, nor is it always the best.

Besides (again): Who says Twi was going all out? 

Sort of irrelevant here, and pretty much contradicts everything about Twilight's Kingdom for various reasons, but a relevant image:

Of all of the times Twilight has put on a "i'm going to be holding back now" face... this is not one of them.

Moving the sun/moon isn't that great of a feat when you break it down.

Hell, even master Roshi destroyed the moon.

 In comparison to other works of fiction like Marvel or DC, it's nothing. For Dragonball Z, comfortably god tier. Relative scaling.

They already float in space 

 

Floating around in space doesn't suddenly make everything weightless, and means nothing when you're actually hauling the sun around using your own energy. To do so, Celestia needs to have as much energy to move the sun as it would take to actually move the sun's energy; Newton's third law, and all.

the sun couldn't possibly be the size of ours.

Planets are: Twilight owns a telescope, which would be pretty pointless if there was nothing up there but points in the sky. The stars are: Discord went to go have a party up there for quite some time, which, see above. So's the moon: Perspective from the moon in the show and comics show that it's the same size relative to our earth. And of course, I have evidence for all of this, available on request, but I also have a message from a writer stating that the sun is the same size as ours,  so...

 Moving something the size of a billion Earths would effectively make Celestia invincible, and the show doesn't reflect that at all. 

 

Writer's aren't really all that interested in examining pony physics or power scaling, it seems; doesn't mean we get to ignore the most relevant and consistent feats. If anything, that mean she should stick to those harder, since they happen to be some of the few things the writer's won't alter on a whim. Celestia moves the sun, Luna moves the moon; there's no argument there.

Who from Dragon Ball/Z do you think fully powered Tirek is comparable to? I would personally not put him past Piccolo Daimao/King Piccolo from DB. I don't see him being even Raditz tier.

Comparable how? If you mean in a fight:

>Strong enough to scare the crap out of beings who casually move the sun and moon

>Strong enough to absorb the power of a being who also scares the crap out of beings who casually move the sun and moon

>Strong enough to go toe to toe with someone who absorbed both of those beings magical power, while still having their own (possibly equally as strong abilities) and another (also potentially as strong) being's magical power inside of them.

So, considering you didn't include Super, Tirek wipes the list of DBZ villains, by himself.

When Applejack walked over, Twilight had smiled, but it dropped a little, at her friends rude entrance. She cleared her throat, tilting her head in Copper's direction to bring her attention to him.

"Applejack, this is Copper Strikes. He's going to be one of the contestants here at the Canterlot Tournament." She turned to Copper Strikes. "Copper Strikes, this is my friend, Applejack. Honest to a fault, dependable. And quite nice. Usually." She shot her friend another dangerous look, still the slightest bit miffed at her opening.

Twilight blinked, considering the proposition. Magic had always been her forte, but unbeknowst to seemingly everyone, fighthing wasn't, not really. What seemed like dozens of hard battles against impossible under her belt was really mostly just luck, and the help of her friends. But then, she had come here to change that. And to see if the training from the other princesses had actually paid off.

"Sure. I don't mind." She nodded in agreement, showing off her best princess-y smile. "I'll make a note of it; tomorrow, you'll be my first match. And i'll be yours."

Also, I didn't specify this, but when Copper uses his Kamehameha with his horn, his magic strength gets weakened, so he relies on his hooves to channel such power.

Matter of context. First being, she's confused, since it's not anything that she's ever heard about before. Second, excitement, since it means she gets to learn something new. Field testing! (She's sort of a total loser like that.)

On the one hoof, this wasn't anything she'd ever read about in any textbook, ever; not even the textbooks at the back of the Canterlot library contained information on "A Legendary Super Pony". On the other hoof, this wasn't anything she'd ever read about, ever; not even the textbooks in Canterlot's library had any information on this subject. Which meant a new learning opportunity for her, and one that she couldn't wait to find out about.

"I guess so. Well, I suppose i'll be seeing you and your special form in a match very soon, right?"

"A box containing a small portion of most of the magic in Equestria, which we received after defeating Tirek, by unlocking the true extent of our..." She paused, pretty sure she had jumped a segue, and was probably throwing him off entirely. "It's... sort of complicated." She shot him a sheepish smile. "I mean, no offense to you, but most of the stuff me and my friends do sound like things that you would hear at a bar party, or in some long-winded novel. So all I can do is assure you that they're real, and that we're proud to do them. No matter how crazy they may sound."

Twilight looked over in the direction of the receptionist's hoof, and blinked twice, just to check. Yep; earth pony. Though, technically, there wasn't any strange cosmic universal rules that prevented earth ponies from having alicorn like abilities... last she checked, anyways. She walked over, breaking into a wave to catch his attention.

"Hi, i'm Princess Twilight Sparkle. Though you probably knew that already." She sheepishly scratched her head, reminding herself to scrub the introductions. Not like she wasn't known, anyways. "What you probably didn't know is that i'm also entered into this competition, like you." She held out a single hoof. "Nice to meet you."

Temperance had grown bored, and so had decided to amuse herself at the snack table. Even as she watched the newest alicorn and the pony she had just talked to exchange words, her staff was out, floating in the air about her. Soft purple flames drifted from it, forming a variety of shapes. A five headed dragon, then a one-winged angel, then an alicorn, unlike any ever seen in Equestria...

Well isn't that kind of general RP a rule between players? No killing without permission? For arena we got Celestia and didn't a couple characters already die and get revived by her? Or was that like, near death and not full death?

 

Sure Mask, but it would have to be something she doesn't already have and can't make herself.

Technically, they did; Celestia at least can heal pretty much any injury, and even pull your soul back from the other side, provided it was just freshly placed there (though obviously, that's rare, depends on if she's there, and she doesn't like doing it). Though, it's still technically possible to die, provided no one's around to help you when you're injured. And medical professions are only on rush call inside the arena...

Though, obviously, no killing characters without permission. That's entirely up to player discretion.

Interesting. Of course player characters can't be killed as far as I know, so how will that be handled?

Huh. I thought we mentioned that that particular rule only extends to arena matches. Oh well; it'll be a lot more trouble to do this non-lethally, but I think that she's up for the task.

We had a good match back in the day. Since when is she a hit pony?

The term "freelancer" in her profile is the key to note here; it covers everything from small time jobs, like ridding towns of infestations and random criminals, to... less than pleasant activities. Which is a nice way of saying that she's influenced more political elections than taxes, and that she's the pony that you go to when you want other ponies to disappear. Permanently.   All in secret, of course, though any reasonably shady pony in the underworld should at least know her name, and how to contact her if they want to get things done(mostly via contact of her employer, who sends stuff off to her, though drops ins are also acceptable, albeit poorly received.) . She's sort of a big thing down in that circle.

She's basically unicorn Shikamaru, with a little extra attitude thrown in. Oh; and a need to play for keeps.

I should probably mention this beforehand, so no surprises. 

Twilight's alicorn abilities in this canon are something she discovered recently, while training with the Royal Sisters. Though it's somewhat of a cheat, in that they're not technically alicorn abilities at all. What it is is, trough a specific breathing practice she learned, she's able to "alter" the flow of her internal magic, moving it to certain sections in order to boost  each tribe's attributes, which lie within her.

Upwards, towards the brain- Unicorn magical surge. Heightened magical abilities and enhanced magical senses

Outward, towards the wings- Pegasus magical surge. Increased flight speed, and heightened reactions

Downward, towards the limbs- Earth pony magical surge. Increased strength, striking force, and durability.

Now of course, the downside of such magic is pretty obvious; magical flow is supposed to be rendered equally, so pulling magic from one area pulls magic from another. Hence, while she's in the middle of "surging" her magic, whichever attributes she's not boosting are instead pulled from her, making her weaker in that area (Enhanced pegasus magic means she can't use magic as well, and can't take shots as easily, enhanced unicorn magic makes her slower and easier to damage, etc.) Also, it's something that she's just learned, so she's pretty garbage at it; she can only hold this form for five minutes or so at one time, in pegasus and EP mode; unicorn's around three, because of the extra magical output. To say nothing if she decides to stock two for one. She could completely burn out her own magical reserves, and be magicless for a while.

So, yeah... just a heads up, so y'all guys know.

By the way, @Hazard Time; if the countess needs someone of a "professional" note to "take care" of Raze, one of my OC's Sleight Mist is really good for this. She's really well known, and runs a spa inside the city; just hit her up, and recognize that she's not picky about her bits. Or taking care of business.

"Okay. Check, check, and..." Twilight Sparkle floated down into the castle from the sky, hefting a saddlebag full of lists that she had collected in preparation for this event. Maybe Celestia had been right, and she was being a bit too pedantic about this, but you could never be too careful, when it came to these sorts of things. She approached the table as soon as she saw it.

"Princess Twilight Sparkle, signing up for the special section." Lifting up the lists she had spent the last few hours writing, she proceeded to place them on the table, in a neatly organized fashion. "That's a list of all my current magical spells, enchantments, incantations, and otherwise, down to newly acquired alicorn powers. Alphabetized for the easiest convenience." She grinned, ever so proud of herself; it had taken no small amount of effort to draw up that list. And she hadn't even begun to drop into the practical applications...

Temperance had just been slipping one of the higher end chocolates from the table into her mouth, when she caught the sound of some pony calling her. Ma'am, he had said. Slowly, she turned around to face him.

"Actually, I am from around here. Born right here, in Equestria. It's just the other details that are sketchy. And quite frankly, that i'd probably have to remove you from this planet for, if you knew about them. But i'm feeling nice enough now, and you're not one of those jerks that were rude to me, so..." With her magic, she picked up one of the expensive chocolates she'd been scarfing down, and floated it over to him. "Have a chocolate. Life's too short to waste them, after all!"
