It depends on what age group the cartoon is aimed at I suppose. Something aimed at older children and teens should certainly be able to get away with mild swearing. Something like My Little Pony, which has two-year-olds watching it, not so much.

I'm guessing fake, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I don't think it's fair to dismiss the CMCs as side characters. Rather, Friendship is Magic has three overlapping narratives.

 

In one narrative (which well over half the show's episodes are devoted to), the Elements of Harmony are the main characters, and the CMCs are side characters.

 

In the second narrative, the CMCs are the main characters, and the Elements are side characters.

 

There is third narrative as well — the Apple family narrative, where episodes like Bloom and Gloom, and Apple Family Reunion, and Pinkie Apple Pie fit. Here Applejack and Apple Bloom, and to a lesser extent Big Mac and Granny Smith, are the main characters, and the rest of the Elements of Harmony, and the CMCs are side characters.

 

There are a handful of episodes that don't fit into any of these categories. A small number deal with the Rarity/Sweetie Belle relationship, or Rainbow Dash/Scootaloo. There's a couple that focus mostly on Spike. And there's Cutie Mark Chronicles, which is primarily part of the CMC narrative, but uses flashbacks to provide exposition for the primary narrative.

Having served Diamond Tiara her tea, Silver Spoon helped out her other customer, a green unicorn with a blue mane. "We've got Earl Grey, Lapsang Stallion, green tea. I've even got some herbal teas somewhere in one of these drawers. What kind of tea do you like?"

Silver Spoon was woken warm sunshine on her face. She rolled over and fell out of bed, landing on her flank. She yawned and untangled herself from the sheets and gazed out of the window. What the hay?! It's almost midday! She looked at her alarm clock that seemed to have stopped at 5 o'clock. She tapped at it. Useless piece of junk!

She threw it in the corner and it immediately started ringing. She ran over to it and stomped her hooves on it until it was silent, then swept the pieces into the bin.

It was the day of the Pet Fundraising Centre thingamuhji-- whatever it was. It was hard to think straight so soon after waking up. She trotted downstairs, grabbed an oat bar and hurried to the event, still chewing along the way.

When she arrived, she saw that Sweet Apple Acres had a stall. Maybe Granny Smith will be there? She told such interesting stories on Family Appreciation Day. Of course, I'll need to pretend to be bored. She trotted over to the stall to see what was going on there.

I'm sick of them constantly doing the same old crap every season, frankly, it's kind of old. And to be honest? I think they're going to get them this season.

Absolutely. Let them get their cutie marks and then the writers can move on from that storyline and do something else interesting with these three characters who have so much potential.

Apple Fritter is very underappreciated. She's the first Apple family member that Applejack introduces Twilight to, she helps out with not just one, but two Apple barn raisings, she's in Pinkie Pie's You Gotta Share, You Gotta Care song and dance routine, she helps plan Applejack's welcome back party in The Last Roundup, plus she's the one pony that Applejack chooses to help her with the catering at Cadence's wedding. And she's damn cute to boot.

I don't really have much of a preference between pen and pencil.

People might hate me for saying I would love to see Harry Potter done in ponies. Also Percy Jackson, Frozen, Tangled, and Mulan.

I'm actually doing a ponified Mulan. The first chapter is already written, but needs editing. Part way through writing the second. I'm hoping to publish the first chapter in July.

 

It will be set 1000 years before the events of Friendship is Magic, before Nightmare Moon, and before King Sombra, but after Tirek and Discord, and will deal with a minotaur invasion into the Crystal Empire and northern Equestria.

 

Because I can't see mares ever getting discriminated against in Equestria, the prejudice angle will be against unicorns, who earth ponies and pegasi deem to be not suitable for military service.

That something is happenening this season according to Lennard and McCarthy.

That could be anything though. It could be that Vinyl Scratch will finally speak. It could be that Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie finally kiss, with tongues.
