  1. In my opinion, a broken nose wouldn't be enough. And words can hurt a lot more than a punch. That's how some victims of bullying are driven to suicide. I'd hate to see that happen to the CMC.
  2. I'd think a pedophile would use that spell to draw the CMC to himself rather than give them to some grown-ass pony. In all seriousness, I was thinking more about the alicorns with that tidbit. I'm not sure how Celestia or Luna would feel about being with a pony that's an adult, but still 1000 years younger than them. Yeah, a homophobe would be able to do that. It's fucked up, but when you think about it, so is throwing two males or two females together just because they'd look cute.
  3. Somehow I think that ship would work, even if the spell wore off. Not exactly. The CMC only wanted to fix what they did because Big Mac and Cheerilee weren't acting normal. If it weren't for all the cringe-inducing baby talk and the staring, they would have let them stay in a forced ship.
  4. You find an amulet that gives you the power to make any two individuals fall in love. Whatever their age or sexual orientation was before is irrelevant. If there's a pony couple you ship, you can make it happen in an instant. And unlike the love poison the CMC used, this amulet does not turn them into baby-talking idiots needing to constantly stare into one another's eyes. They'll just develop romantic feelings and behave like any normal couple, but without ever understanding why. The thing is, if two ponies are seen together, and it feels totally random, it can cause tension. Every pony will start asking questions. Some will repeatedly try to talk sense into them so they break up. Others may sense there's magic involved and try to find the one responsible for screwing with their emotions. Would you proceed with the shipping, or would you give up that power knowing you can't get away with it?
  5. Yeah, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get a beating.
  6. That's funny considering how dependent her father's business is on SAA products. If she tried getting the Apples sued, Filthy Rich would disown her. Lol.
  7. The thing that annoys me about Tiara and Silver Spoon is everyone knows they like giving the CMC a hard time, yet they're almost never punished for it. The only time Tiara ever got her comeuppance was when Cheerilee took away her editing privileges for the school paper. If I were Bic Mac, I'd find those two at their school and threaten to beat the living shit out of them. Then I'd continue to hang around the school yard every day with Applejack for as long as it takes to make them too scared to go near Applebloom again.
  8. I'm curious to know how you'd get them to stop. In my experience, turning the other cheek doesn't do jack.
  9. You run into several dickheads like Gilda, Suri, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, the jocks that made fun of Rainbow Dash in Sonic Rainboom, and all the pegasi that laughed at Fluttershy in Hurricane Fluttershy. Would you have a hard time resisting the urge to beat them to a pulp? I probably would.
  10. Like the board game, a ponified version of Mr. Boddy is murdered in a mansion. And the Mane Six are the prime suspects because they were the only ones at the party whom the victim had royally pissed off. Obviously, they wouldn't have it in them to commit such a crime in the show. But for the purpose of this discussion, we'll say that the circumstances were so dire that they really had no way to avoid it. The "pony Mr. Boddy" had planned to blackmail each of them, and if they chose not to comply to his demands, or if they told anyone about what he'd threatened to do, their lives would have been utterly ruined. On top of that, Luna inexplicably "disappeared" on the night before the party, so there's no way she could have entered any of the Mane Six's dreams to expose this bastard before they could do him in. Clearly, this was not the kind of conflict any of them could just pull through with their friends. One of them is guilty beyond any doubt. So if you had to take a guess, which of the six do you think would be the most likely to have done it? Also, where, and with what? These are the nine rooms where it could have happened: Kitchen, Ballroom, Conservatory, Dining Room, Billiard Room, Library, Lounge, Hall, Study And these are the possible weapons: Candlestick, Dagger, Leadpipe, Rope, Wrench, Crossbow (as a proxy for the Revolver)
  11. Either, or. I was actually thinking about a magical brush, except if they did that, kids would probably be disappointed that the toys don't have some built-in gimmick to recreate those powers. And I think Hasbro would much rather keep their toys cheap. The comb is an item associated with the toys. Basically, if the Transformers can switch between vehicle and robot forms, as toys and as characters in the cartoons, I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to want all the ponies in FIM to be seen frequently brushing. I'm surprised they didn't make any interesting toy accessories out of the elements. Having them light up and project cutie mark images would have given the line-up more value.
  12. As good as FIM is, its main purpose for Hasbro has always been to sell toys. And every pony in their main line of toys featured a comb for their long manes and tails. Let's say they wanted Lauren Faust and other producers to make that a huge part of the show. All the ponies' manes and tails are longer than their bodies, and they're all over the place. The episodes that have been produced so far would generally be the same, except there HAS to be a comb worked into the plot somehow. Some people begin to question why it's necessary, and Hasbro's response is that it's for the same reason transforming is necessary for the Autobots and Decepticons. It's "part of who they are." Would you still consider yourself a brony, or even be able to recommend the show, if this was how it worked?
  13. To be fair, animals in real life are just as individualistic. Pinkie would still be hyper and overly friendly, Fluttershy would still be timid, etc.
  14. Yes, they still look the same. The pegasi can still fly, but wouldn't really feel accustomed to it. Unless you trained them.
  15. Let's say you found every pony in the show (including Zecora) on some hidden ranch in the middle of nowhere. You immediately recognize each of them, except none of them have retained their personalities or magic. They're more or less like real horses now. The person who owns the ranch is offering to let you take one of them home, and he even gives you a few pointers on how to take care of them. Which one would it be?
  16. Having the delusion of being mentally healthy is one thing, but being an ass is another. That's not a symptom. And my mother is just that. She's a complete ass, and I know that because I can't talk to her about anything. She always has to be right.
  17. It's really a matter of perspective. If someone with that condition hurt somebody you cared about, you'd probably see them as evil regardless if they didn't know what they were doing. On the other hand, the blame can also be passed onto persons or institutions responsible for their care if such an event happened, making them look like even bigger villains. I once read about a nursing home where a resident with dimentia attacked and killed a roommate. The staff could have done something to prevent it, but like most homes, they didn't give a shit, and their negligence cost the life of somebody's mother/grandmother. Personally, I'm glad to see there are schizophrenics who recognized they had a condition and took all the right measures to ensure they don't end up putting themselves or others at risk. We wouldn't have the knowledge we do about these cases without their experiences to learn from. It's the ones who have this narcissistic attitude about it that I have a problem with, because no amount of talking will convince them they have a problem and they refuse to seek help. If you gave them enough resources, they could practically be a Batman villain. So it ultimately depends on how Derpy is characterized. We don't know a whole lot about her, despite her one speaking cameo with Rainbow Dash or the part she had for the Equestria games. She seems like a nice pony. When you look at history though, the same could also be said about some of the worst serial killers. Anyway, I'm not a very happy guy, so….. maybe in a few months. Lol.
  18. It helps if you don't take things out of context. Here's what I actually said. "[…] sometimes, there are individuals that come along who, despite their cognitive disability, still do things that make the rest of their demographic look plain bad, like stalking, assault, rape, murder, etc." I'm not painting everyone in this group with the same brush. Any group you can think of will have bad examples, and like it or not, people with mental disorders is no exception. I'll have you know that my mother is a paranoid schizophrenic. She's put her own health at risk many times, mainly because she doesn't acknowledge she has a problem and refuses help when it's offered. And there have been instances when I was little where she attacked or scared other people. For this reason, I have a hard time getting along with her. But you know something? If I hadn't been there for her, she'd probably be dead by now. So if you think I'm putting you or anyone else down with similar conditions, you're mistaken. Second, this isn't about wanting to change a kids' show. It's merely talking about a hypothetical scenario. That's the whole point of forum discussions. We're not bound by the same parameters that the show's writers and producers have set for themselves. We have every right to exercise that freedom provided our thread content isn't against the rules, and this isn't. People have entertained the idea of having romantic relationships with ponies here. I think it's disturbing, but I'm not going to tell anyone not to make threads about it.
  19. There's been some debate on whether she is mentally challenged or not. Some would argue that her appearance and original voice from The Last Roundup aren't enough to make that judgement, and for all we know, she just has a clumsy personality. Others might say she is challenged, and that's a good thing because it makes her different and enforces the message that individuals like her should be accepted (and I agree). But sometimes, there are individuals that come along who, despite their cognitive disability, still do things that make the rest of their demographic look plain bad, like stalking, assault, rape, murder, etc. Now for the sake of argument, let's just forget that FIM is a kids' show. And let's say Derpy did in fact have some kind of mental disorder, and it was so severe, it caused her to do one or more of those things I listed. She might not mean to harm any pony, yet she still does. In this case, we'll say she victimized one of the Mane Six. Because ponies are scared to death of her, Twilight has no choice but to lock her away in a cell. And to make things even worse, no matter how much any pony tries to get through to her, Derpy doesn't understand that what she did was wrong. And she'll keep doing it as long as she's able to get near other ponies. Would you hate her guts, or would you feel sympathetic towards her?
  20. I would make Celestia a queen. Her being a princess always annoyed me because she looks and sounds way too mature for it. Sunset Shimmer would make occasional appearances, having just as many episodes as Trixie. Gilda would make more appearances. Other than that, I would just replace all the bad episodes with better ones.
  21. Just updated the OP, but I'm copying and pasting here. Firstly, the portal doesn't have to be some long transdimensional tube that takes minutes for you to cross. It could be as simple as opening a door to another room. Does it sound logical? Maybe not, but then neither does Pinkie Pie teleporting to catch up with Rainbow Dash in two episodes. That said, when you have a limitless source of magic, the possibilities for getting an internet connection from this world to Equestria are endless. Twilight can figure it out. Fluttershy gets along with carnivores in her world because she's already familiar with them. You're an alien. She's not going to know what to think when she hears your species eats meat, not to mention the fact we've committed atrocities against each other, and other animals, that make anything Chrysalis did look petty. Fluttershy isn't necessarily the one starting the mob. They're acting on their own paranoia. Not all ponies are understanding. Bridle Gossip has shown that they can be racist jerks (or in this case "specist" jerks), including Fluttershy. And thanks to those hired goons from Daring Don't, we know they can also be violent.
  22. They don't know that. They'd trust you as much as we'd trust a tiger or a bear that chose not to eat us.
  23. Lol. It's not totally implausible though. The ponies were almost as prejudiced with Zecora.
  24. Lol. I would just liken the threats to the fact you're an alien. They have a hard enough time with other animals trying to eat them in Equestria. The only difference with you is you're more vulnerable. But I'm sure Twilight would have a solution to the internet thing. If she can activate a portal that isn't meant to open for three moons with a magical book, she can probably figure out a way to use this portal to channel WiFi from your house. She probably wouldn't be as trusting of us when she learns we're the only species that killed for the pleasure of it.
