  1. I was working on my latest invention. An automatic stove-oven for the Cakes. The intricate details of making the first prototype from scratch meant that it would take a while to finish. I also had to make sure it was compatible with my Come to Life spell. My lab was filled with blueprints all over the walls, and components I was checking would work individually. I had a long winter to finish this, and not going out much suited me just fine with the cold outside. Though that also meant that I might have to go out to the scrap shop in the cold if I ran out of parts to melt down.

Sparky was upstairs dusting the ground floor. He frequently did this without being asked, and today was nothing new in his routine. Melted or scrapped prototypes littered the floor of the rooms. I liked to think up things at odd hours of the day, but I usually just moved on and didn't clean things up. I always thought I'd come back to it.....eventually. So the place was pretty much always a mess.

I heard knocks on the door. Who could it be at this late hour? I usually didn't get many visitors. I looked up from the blueprint. "Sparky would you get that? And close the door quickly once you let whoever it is in. We don't want the warm air escaping."

The electric heater in the center of the living room buzzed to life on it's own and floated closer to heat the door, getting ready to welcome the visitor. During the winter months the solar panels didn't collect enough light to have power during the night from the battery, so I used the river by town to turn a turbine to provide power. The automatic broom hummed to life too, getting ready to sweep any dirt or snow back outside.

Sparky stretched out his claw and opened the door, letting the visitor in. He scanned the visitor into the database. The automatic broom neatly cleaned up around him as the door closed on it's own behind him, then floated back to it's spot, motionless again. The heater floated closer to warm up the visitor and blew hot air in his face, then floated back to the center of the living room.

"Sparky! Who is it, and what do they want?" I called up to him from the basement. He turned to the visitor as if to mean answer the question.

  2. Some things I don't feel comfortable with:

    1. The history feels short to me. I'd like it to be 3 to 4 paragraphs, but can't think of anything else to add. Could people please read it and ask me things they feel should be included in her history?

    2. The personality seems wordy and disorganized. While it describes everything I want, it just feels very wall of text and jumbled around. I'm looking for help organizing it better so it flows and is more fun to read.

Anything else you might feel could be improved on, don't hesitate to mention it.

Maybe I should have put it this in the RP section. If it's in the wrong place, mods please move it.

  3. You're right, except the release from stone thing. She couldn't use her magic until the very end of the first movie, and at that point she had to leave already. In the second movie she still couldn't summon her magic on demand, and at that point she was a lot more integrated (Way too fast!) already so the moment was lost.

I don't even remember her ever having a spell like that, but I don't remember some details too well. I did miss about 1 or 2 episodes in season 1 and 2.

  4. I don't think there could have been a scene of Twilight attempting to communicate with that horse since it's a statue, unless you mean some other horse in particular. I think she figured out pretty quickly humony world horses can't talk when she met Fluttershy's animals.

I dunno if anybody remembers, but horses apparently do exist in Equestria. Somewhere. I don't remember the episode, but there was an episode where Twilight attempted to turn mice into horses to pull a carriage. It worked, for about one second and then they turned back into mice. The word "horse" was clearly used in that scene. They didn't seem to be sentient at all. O.o

As for Sunset, she was clearly versed enough in that world by the time she was introduced in the movie so we might never know.

  5. Yea, that game. I wouldn't, sorry. While I don't have anything against Animal Crossing, I just wouldn't play it.

Give me a pony game with as much mod support as Furcadia or Second life, allow dungeon crawling, add NPCs with quests, and that's my ideal pony MMO game. Offline, just give me a story with dungeon crawl.

Oh, and it has to allow creating your own player skills, cause some Unicorn magic wouldn't feel right otherwise.

  6. If done correctly they could make a pony game that's like a life simulation. What was that one game which the most recent game had the subtitle New Leaf?

It would probably be all social life simulation like that with no combat or anything. My ideal pony game would be a dungeon crawler. Go into dungeons and collect loot. Use your special talent to fight. Even Legends of Equestria doesn't do that. From what I've read it's 100% social. They need to allow player created content, like Furcadia.

  7. I looked behind the proprietor. I'd heard about this place and did the research, but hadn't actually been here before. "Let's see here....." I pointed a hoof at the scrap behind him, doing calculations on how much I needed. My eyes were dancing all over the metal odds and ends with wires sticking out here and there. I could swear a bead of drool rolled out of my mouth. Disgusting!

"Carry the 2......right....mhm.....and do I need this here......yes sir." I turned to the older stallion and went back to standing in front of him. His Mark looked like a wire with frayed ends. Perfect for a scrap dealer. "I'll take all of it." I declared happily with a wide smile.

"The entire contents of the junkyard? I do have other customers who need this stuff too you know." He pointed to a mare behind me who I hadn't even noticed come up.

"Uh, hi there." I greeted her absentmindedly, quickly doing calculations in my head again. "In that case I'll take half. I'll come back for whatever she doesn't buy later, if I remember."

"That's better." Said the proprietor. "How will you be paying?" I gasped, completely forgetting that my royalty bits from the patents I had still hadn't arrived.

"My bits haven't come in yet." I hung my head for a second. "Uh, can you send a bill to Bolt Solutions Manehattan Branch? My parents will pay for it, then I'll pay them back when my mail gets sorted out."

"Yesum. I'll have half the scrapyard delivered to wherever you like, free of charge." He went to the back, called out to his coworker and started barking orders, then got back. I could hear cranes in the large junkyard behind him as he pulled out a bill form. "Just sign here." I picked up the pen with my magic and signed it. He looked at the signature and couldn't make it out. "Thank you kindly. Pleasure doing business with you....uh...." He looked at me for a name.

"Lektra. Lektra Bolt. I live on the town outskirts in the hut with the solar panels. Gives me peace to work in, with nopony disturbing me." I realized I hadn't given my address, so I just added it in there. With that done, I turned to the other mare.

"Hi. Are you here to by junk too?" I asked her with a smile. Sparky rolled back over from scanning the junk being loaded by the cranes to stand next to me.

  8. (I think we need an OOC thread and to clearly state who's participating)

I felt a cold claw slap me across the face. "OW! Sparky, why'd you do that?!" I asked him as I rolled over on my back. He pointed to the clock. It was 9 in the morning. "I never wake up this early. Are you out of your circuits?" He moved over to the calendar as my gaze followed him with one eye. He then pointed to the date that had a red X on it. I gasped and rolled out of bed, falling on my rump. "Why didn't you tell me today was parts day?"

"I was trying to." He finally said something with his boring mechanical voice.

"We had better get to the market for our weekly scrap purchase before there's nothing useful left." I put on my tool belt and magnifying goggles then turned to him. "Sparky, wing pack mode please." We'd done this plenty of times while out traveling and it was a routine by now. Unfortunately this was actually our third day in Ponyville, so it wasn't exactly a routine in THIS town. Of course I almost overslept.

In a flash of light Sparky changed to a winged saddlepack and strapped himself to my back. We flew out the door as I locked it with my magic. My mail still wasn't being sent here properly, so I was expecting a whole lot of mail any day now. Until that day though, my new mailbox was empty. We zoomed out to the market, flying over the populace and past a couple of surprised Pegasi.

"Is that Unicorn with wings, or a Pegasus with a horn?" One mare asked a stallion.

"Probably a new princess." Replied the stallion to her.

"I dunno, those wings looked too sparkly and metallic." Chimed in yet another mare.

They flew further as I chuckled at their confusion. I seemed to turn heads without really doing anything or meaning to. They'd probably figure it out eventually. We landed at the scrap shop as Sparky turned back into a robot. No line? What, was I the only inventor in the whole town? Or was I just early? "What can I do for you, miss?" Asked the white stallion proprietor.

  9. Flutters would understand it's what we need to do to feed the population.

Well ponies are vegetarians, so they can't really do a factory farm episode unless they talk about what ponies do to keep the bigger species from going carnivore on the pony race. The closest they might do is eggs cause I think ponies still need eggs for cake and stuff.

That stuff going on IRL makes me sad also, but really it's either that or we let the animals go wild and hunt them. This is just a more humane form of hunting to feed the population. Or that's how I justify it to help me sleep at night. I still think it's nuts.

I saw this fan gif animation about Twilight remembering she ate bacon as a hum-ony when she's back home and being sad about the animals. Not that she was actually shown eating much, but she *could* have tried some bacon offscreen.
