  1. I have been having a really difficult time making any fanart recently, it's like that part of my brain has entirely stalled out. Anyway, done did a Trixie tonight. Any little requests, perhaps to help jog me back into things?
  2. Did black and white test prints of a few of the cards today to check sizing and proportions of things. Printed on heavy weight paper and laminated so they feel pretty high quality for prototypes. At this point, I'm 95% sure about what cards will be in the 108 card deck will be as well as their functions. Now its mostly just art and balancing a few bits out.
  3. Hi, some of you may know me already, but to those that don't I occasionally do various art bits for Poniverse and am a full-time university student in illustration and visual communication. I've been developing a table-top card game for awhile now and am nearly at a point in which I can test the game with outside peoples. The game is called "Tribute to the Overlord". This project has a few goals: To be a refined piece for my personal portfolio, Test myself in finishing such a comprehensive project, and get a tiny foothold in tabletop game development (I have other ideas I'd like to develop one day). "You and your demonic friends must appease your Overlord by offering tribute every day. You’re all sick of being on the bottom and agree to start collecting loot so that you can takeover the Overlord's position. Unfortunately, none of you can agree on who the next Overlord should be. Amass more loot then everyone else in order to overthrow the Overlord and take your rightful place on top. But getting greedy risks the rage of the current Overlord, who won’t go easy on any of you. So build your stash in secret, back-stab your friends and give as little as you can manage to the Overlord to stay out of trouble." Tribute to the Overlord is a bit of a deck building card game that pits players against each other and a common board enemy. There are 5 rounds; the situation and cards to deal with it change every turn. There are various strategies implemented to combat total RNG but the game should be able to be picked up and learned in half an hour or less. The game is targeted at player groups of about 4 or 5 but can physically be played with groups ranging from 2-6. Target age group is early 20's to early 30's but could be played comfortably ages 12+. The past few months I have been working on this on and off in between personal projects and working side jobs, school stuff and the occasional Poniverse thing. Most of the focus has been on the rules and gameplay up to this point. Now I'm dividing my time between game balancing and art. Now I'm looking for candidates to play-test this game and give feedback, help balance and find game loop-holes I may have missed. I'll be shipping out around 10 prototype copies of this game sometime in February (or thereabouts depending on how the next school semester fairs for me). These copies will be shipped out free to those living in the US. I currently will not be shipping elsewhere; but if you fill out the provided form you'll be sent updates on the game and be notified if I get an international thing going. I'm shipping these out for free in return for feedback, if you can't or don't plan on proving feedback or testing it for problems, don't bother signing up. If your interested in signing up to get a free alpha copy and helping this game become complete in it's design; please fill out this form here. Please note that this is NOT first come first serve, I'll be semi-selectively choosing candidates to test various bits. Also, as stated this is an ALPHA where the focus so far has been primarily on gameplay and functionality, the art is mostly wip or in a placeholder state right now. It is quite likely that it will be in a similar state when these copies are shipped as well. Meaning it may not be a pretty game, but it'll work. The Beta phase of the game is a ways off, but will have nearly completed art and enforce the necessary updates found in the alpha. If you agree to get updates on the form above then you may get sent a Beta copy. So don't worry if you arn't offered an Alpha. Some card design teasers. If you have follow-up questions, feel free to ask.
  4. Practice. Cliche but true. Your main 'flaw' right now is lack of confidence in your strokes. For comparison, this was my first time using my first tablet. All I made was a mess. So keep it up
  5. Initial name reaction says; Doodle Daisy, just DD or Daisy for short.
  6. An alternate version of lil' Pinkie Live streaming the wip of this now if you wanna see and learn my janky workflow.
  7. Execution felt a bit sub-par, but this was just getting an idea out of my head.
  8. Just been in a habit of sitting down with no plan when I put pen to screen lately. This is what happened.
  9. Doing a test livestream to make this junky sketch pretty. https://picarto.tv/lcrown Taking a break, but here's the state of the image.
  10. I tend to forget I made that image, it tends to get a smile out of me when I see it again. XD
  11. Haha, yeah, that just seems to happen when I draw ponies. Big Ol' manes
  12. I think were both getting ourselves confused by my janky hands and perspective problems XD I never really fixed the alignment and perspective on that leading hand, I think thats whats causing the confusion.
  13. I know some about bows as well. I based the holding style off the recurve I have, where the arrow sort of crosses over. Which puts the arrow sort of opposite the thumb Kind of like this: I THINK English bows you do the same thing, I might be wrong though. I know there are middle eastern bow styles (I think some Asian ones too) that have the arrow on the outside like your talking about. I'm by no means an expert or anything though, it's jsut something I was looking up a few years ago while I was shooting.
  14. Haha, I uh.. Oh! whats that distraction over there!?
  15. Thanks. In hindsight, I probably could have done a few things to make the motion more obvious, lines of action, some blur, etc. But I finished this up at like 4am XD But definitely glad you like the coloring, cause I hadn't planned to color it at all, for one, and cause I did some new stuff I hadn't really done before. So thanks! Yeah, the file size on this isn't very friendly, but glad you liked it, hope it was worth it's wait.
  16. Pinkie never gets hit by falling objects. Shes got a twitchy tail after all.
  17. Arting is hard to teach. I used to do art streams, considering doing them again. Maybe that will help. She touched stuff that didn't wanna be touched and it broked.

    Woops

Another image I never planned on coloring. Four hours longer then I'd planned to work on this and here we are.
  19. I wanted to draw a character in this pose some time back, I started it and it was just going really poorly. I guess I have a better general understanding now. It was Merida from Brave. That image never even had the luxury of being saved at all.
  20. It was a bit of a pain perspective wise, so thanks. disclaimer, shes yet to use a bow, I just made that bit up cause I wanted to.
  21. Moving of of clothing stuff for a bit and putting some practice on a sketching method I played with before but havn't used in a while. But again, ended up being a multi purpose study. I considered cleaning it up further, but I never planed to make it a finished piece (never planned to color it for that matter). But I got the practice I wanted and some extra practice too. I really like how the details and on the bow came out, especially the bottom bit. Also, thats gotta be the best ear I've ever done, AND I'm quite pleased with the folding on the shirt (clothing practice paying off I guess), skirt could use some work though. Also, both the hands are screwy. The fount on I got looking alright, just never bothered to fix the alignment of the thumb, back one never got any detailing and pretty much looks the same as when I first sketched it.
  22. It's a good thing you have a FASHION EXPERT here to guide you then, what would you wear without me.
  23. Oh yeah, I wouldn't wanna walk around with someone wearing that third outfit. But I don't know fashion.. sooo... what do I really know. (ironic confused horse) And holly shiz, I think your right about that backpack thing, I had myself convinced it was part of the jacket.
  24. Another (multi-purpose) clothing study (featuring Star Butterfly). Numbers list the order drawn. #1 was more of a warm-up then anything else. previous clothing study I did
  25. Talking about Star? Shes from Star vs the forces of evil.
