Lightning Roller

Lightning looks at lyme, "I'll be fine." He lets out a half-hearted laugh, "I took a giant snowball to the face and fell to ponyville IN it, I think I can handle a blow to the head." He laughs again. He looks to both blaze and lyme, "As for that zebra's shack, I have no clue where it's at." He looks at blaze, "Do you by chance know where its at?"

Lightning looks at the two stallions, "Checking on the tree sounds like a good start, perhaps we could stop by that zebra's shack on the way there." He looks to the others for assurance, "I mean... she might know something seeing as she is living in the middle of it." He leans to one side and attempts to push himself onto his hooves, the ice pack falls off in the process. "Man.. I should really think before I take off.." He successfully gets up, grabs the ice pack, and makes his way back to his chair, his half spilt drink waits for him on the table. "What do you guys think?"

Lightning looked up to lyme, "Well it looks like the gang is all here..." He said half groggily as he attempted to stand up. He succeeds in getting himself into a sitting position on the floor and motions to blaze, "Over here man! Come grab a seat and try not to scare anypony else on your way over here." He lets out a half-hearted laugh and re-adjusts the ice pack as he waits for blaze to join them.

Lightning nearly jumps out of his chair when the armor clad pony burst into sugarcube corner, causing him to spill some of his hot coffee onto his lap. "YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!" He takes into the air without thinking and smacks his head into the ceiling, falling back to the floor with an audible THUD. Lightning lays on the ground, his saddlebags off to one side, rubbing his head. "Uuuugghhhh.... note to self... don't have coffee when your expecting a former guard member...." He continues to lay on the floor letting out audible groans. "Does somepony have an ice pack?" He asks openly. "No problem! I've got one in the freezer, be right back!" The pink mare bounces out of sight and returns moments later holding an ice pack wrapped in a dish towel, "Here! this should fix you right up!" She giggles before bouncing back behind the counter, waiting for the next customer. "Thanks..." He says groggily, Lightning takes the ice pack and sets it on top of his head and relaxes on the floor as the cooling pack numbed his aching head.

Lightning looks up from the brew that he had been swirling with his hoof and watches the green stallion from last night approach and introduce himself. Lightning returns the stallions smile, "Nice to meet you Lyme, my name is Lightning Roller. It would seem that we are just missing blaze for now." lightning takes a sip of his coffee and continues, "I expect that he'll be here shortly, in the mean time, your welcome to join me." he motions his hoof to the open chairs at the table.

Lightning speeds through the sky, the light glistening off of his coat as he makes his way to sugarcube corner. Today is bound to be interesting.. He thought as he flew over town square, gliding down to land beside a nearby gazebo. He straightens his mane out before trotting across town to sugarcube corner, making his way inside. He goes over to the counter, "Can I get a small cup of mint chocolate coffee?" The mare behind the counter laughs, "Sure!" She giggles, "How would you like it?" Lightning looks a bit puzzled at the bubbly mare and replies, "I'll take it black with five sugars please." The mare smiles, "Ok! That'll be two bits." Lightning returns her smile and reaches into his saddlebag, pulling out two bits and setting them on the counter. The mare takes the bits and goes to make his coffee, He rolls his wings a bit and yawns, still sleepy from the night before. The mare returns a minute later, "Here you go! Enjoy!" Lightning takes the cup, "Thanks, and I will." He offers a smile in return and makes his way over to a table in the back by a window, taking a seat and enjoying his brew.

(OOC - We shall assume that everyone has gotten some rest and we shall place the time of day at roughly 8 a.m.) "Ugh..." Lightning wearily opens his eyes and is greeted by the bright morning light, "Man last night was rough..." He scratches the back of his head, partially shutting his eyes and makes his way over to the curtains, drawing them almost closed to tone down the glare that was blinding him. "Maybe I should've taken it easy on the cinnamon whiskey.." He laughs to himself and goes over to straighten up his mess of a bed. He sets about his morning ritual, brushing his teeth, taking a nice hot shower, etc.. and makes his way downstairs, feeling refreshed. He makes his way into the kitchen, making up a small breakfast of oat cereal and orange juice while enjoying some mindless television. I wonder if anyone is already waiting at sugarcube corner... He takes care of his dishes and grabs his saddle bags on the way out, locking his door before trotting into cloudsdale to ask for the day off at work. He makes his way over to the weather factory and as he approaches the doors, he notices one of his co-workers. "Hey Sunny Rays!" The Yellow mare looks over to him, "Hey Lightning!" She says in reply, smiling as she sees him. "Listen, I've got some business to take care of in ponyville. Mind if I take the day off?" He gives her a half-hearted pleading look, "Oh come on... Don't give me that look.." She laughs at lightning, "Pretty please?" He partially sticks out his lower lip, "Oh fine.... But you'll owe me one ok? and I expect to use it soon." Lightning laughs as sunny gives in, "Thanks sunny, and don't worry, I'll make it up to you!" He runs and takes to the skies, making his way casually to ponyville.

Lightning walks out of the backstage door and goes over to the bar, grabbing his work clothes and half hazardly throwing them on before walking outside and taking flight towards cloudsdale. Man this cool night air feels so good right now... he makes his way back up to cloudsdale with a pleased look on his face, letting the wind brush across his face as he speeds towards his house. I wonder what tomorrow will hold... hopefully it wont be too dangerous.. He laughs thinking about it, Did I really just think that?... He does a barrel roll and shakes his head as his home comes into view. He lands lightly and unlocks his door, throwing his work clothes onto the rack and locks the door behind him, making his way up to his bed and throwing himself upon it, letting sleep envelop him as his body relaxes into a comfortable position.

Lightning nods at the green stallion, "Sugarcube corner tomorrow, I'll make sure that I'm there." He turns and looks at blaze, "You up for an adventure tomorrow?" and waits patiently for a response as he stretches his wings and legs, yawning again with a fatigued look on his face.

"Hmm....." Lightning looks at the stallion, "Well if they haven't already gotten to the tree, it must be protecting itself with the elements of harmony, but its definitely worth looking into..." Lightning yawns again, "After I get some sleep.." he laughs lightly looking at his watch, wow, its almost midnight... He looks to blaze and then the green stallion, "How about we meet back up tomorrow at sugarcube corner and make a plan there, I can't exactly see straight right now with how sleepy I am and that cinnamint brew is just adding to it."

Lightning looks at the green mare, then turns to look at blaze, "Well we cant exactly do nothing right?" Lightning yawns, "But man am I tired..." He stretches his wings and leads the green stallion over to a nearby chair, motioning for him to sit down, "Ok, so you said something is attacking the tree of harmony?" He gives blaze a concerned look, "Fill us in on everything that you saw."

Lightning Looks to blaze, "I don't know who this is... But he looks pretty shaken up man." He turns to look at the approaching stallion, "Are you ok? you look like you've seen a ghost." Lightning finishes off his drink and walks over to the stallion, offering his arm to help.

Lightning looks towards the door leading out of the backstage hallway, Well this has been one hell of a day.. As he watches the crowd through the door, he notices a green stallion pushing his way towards the door. He looks like he's seen a ghost.. Wonder what's got him so scared.. Lightning casually takes a sip of his drink and stretches his wings as he follows blaze.

Lightning follows blaze back to the dressing room and waits outside the door, taking a sip of his drink, relishing in the mixture of mint and cinnamon. Nothing else quite like it.. He laughs thinking about it, Hope he likes it too. Lightning stretches his wings and yawns a bit, looking at his watch, Wow... its only 9:30? why am I tired?... He passes the second drink to blaze as he walks out of the dressing room.

Lightning floats back down to the ground, head hanging slightly, Well maybe it just wasn't my time... He glides back over to the bar, "Can I get two cinnamint whiskeys on ice?" Lightning pulls out some bits and pays for the drinks, May as well go congratulate blaze on an amazing show... He makes his way through the crowd towards the stage and goes around back to find blaze, "Awesome show man!" He offers his wing for a wing five, "I'm glad I got to see your show, it definitely made the night." He laughs lightly and offers blaze one of the drinks, "Its one of my favorites, give it a try."

As you approach the cave, a piercing screech emanates from the cave entrance as two VERY large cool blue eyes lock onto you and a rather large set of pincers comes into view from out of the darkness. The ground reverberates with resounding thuds as the creature moves inside the opening. (Perhaps you shouldn't keep this information to yourself?.... after all, these things ARE attempting to go after the tree of harmony...) Lightning has been sitting at the bar enjoying his cinnamon whiskey while he watches the show, "Dear celestia of equestrian.... how in the world did he manage to get Luna to sing here?" His jaw drops, but non the less, he bobs his head along with the beat. He really does have some fantastic music... thinks lightning to himself. As the second song comes to and end, lightning finishes off his glass and flips it upside down to show that he has had enough to drink. As the third song begins and blaze calls for a volunteer, Lightning thinks Well this is as good of a time as any to get my name out there... Aww screw it... He laughs to himself before hovering up towards the ceiling, pulling a loop and calling out, "How about giving me a shot?!"

As you enter the hole in the bookshelf, a staircase descends before you. Crystals inlaid to the wall light the way downwards. As you journey down, you can see a few mosaics inlaid into the wall. The first you come across depicts the creatures you saw before surrounding what looks like glowing wood, the next mosaic appears about 30 feet later and this one depicts these unknown creatures consuming the wood in a frenzy. The third appears about equidistant from the last two, it depicts these creatures surrounding the tree of harmony and starswirl casting a spell on a piece of wood. The fourth is damaged, but you can make out starswirl throwing the wood into a cave and the creatures following it. The fifth and final one you see before the stairs turn to rough dirt and rock depicts starswirl sealing the cave with a boulder covered in writing. As you venture down the tunnel a cave opens before you. On the far side of the cave is a large opening partially covered by a rather large boulder covered in ancient equestrian text, beyond the opening is seemingly endless darkness and the same cicada sound can be heard emanating from within. As you look around the cave, there seems to be quite a few of those unnatural rocks lying around the cave and you catch a few pairs of cool blue eyes looking at you before they vanish.

OOC- As you venture around the castle, aside from the gnaw and scratch marks on the trees and the occasional moss-covered rock, nothing appears to be out of the ordinary. The cave to the tree of harmony is wide open, and as you approach it, you can see a cluster of rocks moving at the caves opening. It appears that whatever these creatures are, they want inside of the cave, but they appear unable to do so. Its almost as if an invisible shield is stopping them from entering. If you choose to take a closer look at the creatures, they have an exoskeleton, appear to look almost like a giant ant crossed with a rock, their pincers are about 5 inches long, they have 6 legs and cool blue pupil-less eyes. One turns to look at you and then the creatures drop to appear as nothing more than rocks. If you so choose to explore the castle, nothing seems to be amiss. most of the rooms appears to be intact, but as you enter the library, you notice that a fairly large hole is in one of the bookshelves, books are scattered on the floor and a passageway appears to be behind the shelf.

OOC- As you make your way towards the castle of the two sisters, the signs of disturbance increase, the gnawing on the trees appears more often and there seems to be more moss covered rocks, skittering can be heard in the distance and an occasional buzzing sound similar to a cicada. As the castle comes into view, a faint trail of rocks appears to lead inside of the castle. Things seem to be off here....

OOC- As you make your way through the forest, you can notice what looks like movement out of the corner of your eye. when you turn to look at it, all you see are grey rocks about the size of a loaf of bread. There appears to be scratches and rough bite marks on a tree every now and then, as well as what looks to be the remnants of a timberwolf. (mainly leaves and rocks, most if not all of the wood seems to be gone.) Things in the forest seem oddly quitter than usual and the air of the forest feels heavy.

OOC- As you make your way around ponyville, you hear whispers and rumors of timberwolf sightings becoming more common, they have been non-aggressive and seem like they are running from something. Lightning looks to Crank, "I've been thinking about a saddlebag mounted snowball cannon, think you could pull it off?" He laughs, "I'd love to see the look on sunrises' face when that fresh powder is flying right at him." Lightning looks over to Blaze, "Looks like the crowd is making their way in, need any help getting ready?"

Lightning takes a sip of his drink, a small glass of cinnamon whiskey, and lets out a refreshed "Ahh" as the warmth embraced him, his expression pleased, and looks to the green stallion, "The name's Lightning, Lightning Roller. And you are?..." He raises an eyebrow at the stallion.

Lightning laughs as he wing-fives Blaze, "Well pick out your drink Gear..." He stops and looks perplexed for a moment, "That doesn't quite roll off the tongue right, mind if I call just call you Crank?" He looks over to the stallion for an answer, "In any case, I think its great timing meeting someone like yourself, I do have a co-worker I need to get some revenge on." He winks at Crank and turns to look at the pony who asked to join, "By all means, take your best shot miss...." Lightning stops mid-sentence as he looks at the stallion, "Woops.." He begins to chuckle, "I think your glasses are affecting your vision Blaze, that doesn't look like a mare to me." He bursts out laughing, looking over to blaze to see his reaction.
