  1. Finally home from work..... curse late-night shifts.

  2. It might be different where you live, but where I live (Hawaii) cost of living is ludicrously high. Like, so expensive that if you don't have a decent paying job it's still entirely possible to be homeless even if you have a job. Just saying that, depending on where you live, getting a job doesn't necessarily guarentee you being able to do much better. There will be a LOT of regional variations since in some places cost of living is ridiculously low, while in other's it's ludicrously high.
  3. Well people, if you plan on searching for any of these I hope you don't mind non-English songs because most of these bands are from Japan..... well, more like the East Asia region in general. These aren't in any particular order, it's literally just in the order that I think of them as I'm writing this post. 嵐 (Arashi) Bump of Chicken <- nice name ya got there, band. Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas <- and yes, in Japan there's a band that goes by that name. The Blue Hearts <- I know they disbanded before I was even 1 but I still love them. Yoshida Brothers <- ♫ One of these things is not like the others! ♫ Porno Graffiti <- I have no idea what these guys were thinking when they named their band, seriously. Fahrenheit SHINee The GAG Quartet <- aww man, they don't have a Wikipedia page. The Axis of Awesome Also, if I were allowed to take a more..... liberal.... interpretation of the word "bands", I guess you could say that you can include Vocaloid's (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin and Ren, Kamui Gakupo, KAITO, GUMI, Yan He, Luo Tianyi, those ones).
  4. I live in Hawaii and here, homelessness is a BIG issue. Hell, from what I understand cost of living is so high that if you don't have a decent paying job you could still very well wind up homeless even if you do have a job. It doesn't help that the city and county of Honolulu is taking a "hide the problem from the tourists and pretend it doesn't exist" approach towards homelessness rather than actually trying to solve the issue by passing a few laws that effectively criminalize homelessness. That said, that's an entirely different issue that I'm not sure is very related to the OP. So, getting back to the topic at hand, while under normal circumstances I would give to the homeless, whether or not I actually give depends on the person. Let's just say there are plenty of homeless here in Hawaii whom I don't want to be anywhere near for reasons of personal safety. That said, there are a LOT more homeless people who are just honest people trying to live another day. My mom works at a public elementary school where some of her students are homeless so she sees this literally every day that she works. So, rather than money I'd much rather give things like food. That said, I'd much prefer giving to a charity over giving directly to a person. Mainly because when you give to a charity chances are you're helping a LOT of people, but when you give to an individual you're only helping that one person (and even then, only for a short period of time). Course, I will acknowledge not all charity's are good charity's, but that's a discussion for another topic entirely.
  5. Well, first off, you don't want to see my art. Just trust me, I'm no good at drawing. My YouTube on the other hand, that I may eventually put somewhere. I'm probably going to get started on a pony-related channel soon. Dunno about my other one though. And finally, yes, I am fluent in Japanese. Although, it may be good to note that I know more English words than Japanese words, since I've lived in the US and all. Also, in casual conversation I tend towards using the Hiroshima dialect (which I apparently picked up from my grandparents) rather than standard Japanese, which slightly annoys some of my Japanese-speaking friends.
  6. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Twilight Sparkle How did you find MLP Forums?: Google. Yep, just randomly browsing the web for pony stuff and I saw this place and went "Hey, that looks interesting!" How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: One of my friends has a younger brother who was the last person I expected to be into MLP. One day I was told he was into MLP and thought "interesting, didn't expect that". The next day of school someone gave him a Pinky Pie T-shirt and right then and their he changed out of his old shirt and put on that Pinky Pie shirt, this was when I found out just how into MLP he was. Curious as to what the show was, and figuring it couldn't be what some people made it out to be since the last person in the world I thought would like it liked it, I watched the first few episodes. And then the next, and the next, next thing I knew I was done with seasons 1 and 2. So, hello there. I'll just go by the name Tsukuyomi for now, it's not the name I normally go by when I'm on the internet but it'll do for now, expecially since I don't want any of my RL friends realizing just how into MLP I am (some of them are..... less than supportive about that). Who am I? Just some 20-year-old Japanese-American dude living in Hawaii while going to college. In terms of hobby's, well personally I don't think I'm all that interesting but here it goes. Firstly, I play a lot of video games. Probably more than is good for me. My favorite genre would probably strategy games, like Civ V, or EUIV, or Planetary Annihilation, Age of Empire's 3, Battlestations: Miday, and so on. Ironic, considering half the time I'm not very good at strategy games. I play a wide variety of games though, from FPS's like Halo, to adventure games like Skyrim, and even the occasional game of mahjong (which I also suck at). I also like to watch a lot of anime. Well, not just anime, more Japanese TV in general. Everything from anime's like FMA, Shokugeki no Souma, Shugo Chara, and such, to drama's like Team Medical Dragon, Bloody Monday, Aibo, and such, and even variety shows such as Kiseki Taiken Unbelievable and Sekaiichi Uketai Jugyou. btw, you won't be finding subbed versions of those variety shows in manyplaces, being bilingual has it's perks. What else.... I also like writing! I tend to either RP or write my own original works. I've tried to get into the fan-fiction scene but kept feeling like I'm never portraying the characters in a write way so eventually just said "SCREW IT!" and stopped trying to write fanfics. I still write a lot of other stuff though. That said, my muse usually is short-lived, so what happens is I start feeling like writing one story, start writing it, and then my muse jumps off to another place. I also like music. J-Pop, K-Pop, C-Pop. Wow, that's all East Asian. I do also like other music though, including most of what goes up on the Eurovision Song Contest......... heh, interesting, I just realized that while I live in and was raised in Hawaii (part of the USA) and I'm not a big fan of music from the US. Other things.... oh! I also have a YouTube channel that I occasionally post stuff to! Well, actually I have several, but I have two main ones. One for pony stuff and another for, well, almost everything else. Mostly game LP's and such. In terms of video editing I'm entirely self-taught (which was an interesting experience to say the least) and am probably not the best at it, but I know enough to get the job done. I've been wanting to post pony-related videos, but recent time constraints have prevented me from posting much of anything to YouTube. I should really get to addressing that. I'm also trying to teach myself how to draw for some of the YouTube stuff I want to do, but since I can't draw even if my life depended on it that's going....... less than idealy. Whoa, this is getting long. Well, I'll leave it here for now. If you have any questions feel free to ask. よろしくお願いします!
