Merry Christmas for the rest of you, here in Finland we celebrate 24th instead of 25th, so I already had my fill yesterday. I don't know it for 100% confirmed truth why we do celebrate it 24th and not 25th, but I remember hearing or reading somewhere that it's basically because we Finns are stubborn.
Basically, back in the day, before Christianity forced itself upon our people, we had our own winter celebration in the 24th, Christianity didn't like this, painted it as Satanic and so on, as they do, but we kept celebrating it, even those who were turned christian did, so after a while, the church just gave up and moved Christmas on the day instead to replace it rather than trying to keep entirely killing it.
It also turns out that one traditional Christmas movie has been taken off air now, so rest in peace Joulupukki ja noitarumpu (Santa Claus and the witch-drum), traumatizing children since 1996
