Spent all night playing Fallout 4. Now it's high noon and I feel like I have a hangover. Guess that wasn't the brightest idea to kick my sleep schedule like that.
-
Last evening I've sent a work application, and they called this morning to invite me for a chat. What a nice professional confidence boost I daresay. At least the market knows I'm worth my pay, even if my current management fails to show that.
-
*sigh* I need a new job, and fast. Weird how quickly my view on the current one has changed, from okay-ish to a stressful dead end.

there do seem to be polish companies there (like this one) so perhaps if you start a review and it doesn't have the company listed, it creates the entry?
-
Ah, I see. No, it's not a UK site - it has different international subsites (but not for .pl it seems) but only one database. Here is the indian subsite for example

Pen and ink is such a b**check of a drawing medium. But I'm drawn (pun intended) to it, and invested in the supplies, so I won't just toss it all to trash. At least I managed to do one request today, even if it's not the first on the list.
-
I'm in a good mood. This is highly suspicious.
-
Tending to a lighthouse in the middle of nowhere would be a perfect job for me. Such a shame they're all remotely controlled or even fully automatic these days...
-
Finished the second request from my queue, the ink is drying and I'll post it in the evening. Who knows, maybe I'll finish another one before the Weekend ends.
-
Now playing: "last kiss" by Pearl Jam. For some reason it puts me in the driving mood. Fast driving I may add.

One if the few upsides of a stressful work day us that when I come home and fire up the stereo with Evanescence playing, it sounds the best. Like me feeling down made the music better. Not complaining though, seeing them live made me like their songs all the more.

They were in Poland for the first time ever last month, had to buy the ticket. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by the drummer, of all people. Doing stunts while playing and all that. Amy was basically running all over the scene the whole time, with a few slow piano songs in between. And the bass switched instruments with guitar for one song, that was cool.

Third hour straight of drawing requests and all I have is a tiny pile of crumpled paper with rejected sketches... Just great.

Oh don't worry about me doing something rash. Im all too aware of just how much of a mess would it do to my family, which makes an effective guilt trap. Plus, who would take care of my tortoise? And there's no way I ever let go of my beloved car. Even though I've had "s" thoughts for years, nothing's going to happen, I assure you. Once work calms down (and I hope it will eventually), things will get back to normal.

I wife I had a real job, like a carpenter or something, instead of being a corporate excel pusher. Parents were wrong, office jobs aren't the best ones. Nor necessarily.
-
I know how it feels to have work get the better of you sometimes. I don't think I could ever manage an office job though.. I'd need something to mix up the day, not just sit in one place for 8 hours. It's why I left my IT job as soon as I could. But then some people are the exact opposite. They can't stand the idea of being outside their cushy office or having to deal with people on the floor.
Would you ever consider changing vocations or getting training in something else you enjoy? Is it feasible?
-
Heh, I for once can't stand the clients. Okay, people in general but, same difference. I'm okay with doing stuff in excel the whole time if the atmosphere is okay, and my superiors are on the "we need to find and punish the guilty" side of management.
I like managing contracts with the public health care payer, but it's hard to land a job where you do only that. While I could probably get some paid courses to gain extra skills, it would take months and some serious sums to become sufficiently versed to become employable in the new field.
All in all, it's more about people in the job rather than the job itself that gets to me.

When you want to draw but somehow end up playing "one more quest" in Fallout 4 till it's time to turn the lights off... It's not even funny.
-
Uh huh, the whole Warsaw will choke with traffic and signal loss because a certain individual is coming to town tomorrow. Gotta love it when we host international conferences...

I was driving a brand new VW Tiguan today. 200 HP, automatic gearbox, full gadgetry. Surprisingly enough, I didn't really like the "modern car experience" and much more prefer my 16 years old Lancia.
-
I'm European and had a manual all my years, so no wonder I don't like it when the car just keeps rolling forward on automatic. And the way it feels when driving... I felt so disconnected from the road, like it was a video game or a training machine with screens for windows. And those assistants for everything, like I wasn't trusted to drive on my own and needed a slew of computerised helping hands.
-
I miss the days when I had several roleplays to reply to every day. And enough time to post my replies on the same day.

@Raven Rawne I see, I am only in one now, and I enjoy it.

Ugh... gotta make up my mind which way I want to go with my art style... I'm going all over the place with different concepts, each piece a mix of different things, which obvously doesn't help. Funny, when you look at canon ponies, they seem so easy to draw...
-
When I look at art like this, I can't help but wonder why would I ever want to try anything than pen and ink for my own drawings...

I'm more into stylised drawings myself, rather than hyper realistic ones, but it goes to show how versatile this medium is. And if I decide to add color later on, it will be that much easier with solid lineart skill. I can buy a bunch of markers right now if I wanted to go color to be honest, but I choose to get good in what I do now first.

Just came back from the concert. Dead tired but happy I went.
-
Uh huh, Evanescence concert tomorrow. Can't say whether I'm more nervous or excited though.
-
I think I need another 1x1 RP in my life. But then, I don't really have a plot idea. Yet.
-
I tried using a rapidograph, a brush pen, and technical pen instead of the usual dip pens for own and ink art. Now I know why everyone uses Micron tech pens...
-
Just came up with an idea to, hopefully, improve my ink drawings. But I need to finish the pending requests first...
-
Uh huh, so this is one of those "I don't care about being alive, wouldn't mind a change in this department" days. Not really fun but, whatever.
-
I may or may not reply to roleplays this weekend. Problems at work. Same with art requests, I guess.

Same ere, my last supervisor was a real treat, no one done much to really grind it into him cause they'd be in his bad books and we need him for many things. This is the world of work and it's gloriously testing of you as a person, I found it best to just put my head down and take the bs, work hard and you'll be fine. My last supervisor took the pee out of everyone and usually in a way that made no one happy about it.
-
Yeah... I had a reeeeeaally dumb boss in my last work, but my immediate manager kept her in check and off people's backs. In here, my immediate is just as clueless about real work we do as the director who's doing the Spanish Inquisition every time she sees something she didn't know. Ofc she says she should be informed. Should is like, her fave word.
-
Totally understand you brother, but they're their to do a job like everyone else, bosses, managers, supervisors etc are typically bad jobs for the people in them. So naturally they'll become douches with time due to the amount of shit they probably had to put up with in the past when being a "cool and chill" leading figure. For me, I was just happy to have a job and pay, that got me through a lot of the bad times.
