  1. @Dynamo Pad @Arid_Blitz Something about being in a certain place at a convenient time seems pretty rare these days. Case in point, Copper was ALREADY at the city thanks to a mission he was tasked to do earlier from a civilian there. Having been already paid, and seeing that there were no other missions to do, he decided to take a break, going to the train station to meet up with Dynamo. Once there, he took off the hoodie and looked around, finding Melio and Canteen. He smirked and walked over to the two. "Hi," he said to them. "I take it you're waiting for somepony?"
  2. @Arid_Blitz @Dynamo Pad Copper watched the fight with some intent, seeing that both sides were close to equally matched. He maintained his serious expression throughout the fight, until he felt something again. He looked off somewhere, feeling that strange magical power up again. What is going on? Who was causing it? It couldn't have been Jade, could it?
  3. @Dynamo Pad Copper could not help but smile brightly at the fact that he was complimented by his old friend. "Thank you so much, Dynamo," he said. "I'm so glad you think of me that way." Then he raised an eyebrow at the mention of the Monado arts. "Oh, so that's what they were called, huh?" he asked, then laughed. "Well, I may or may not have taken a page from your book of gamer magic and learned my own Monado arts." He grinned. Then he blinked and covered the gem(He did not take it from Dynamo) so that nobody could see it. "Do what you must," he whispered. "I suggest using it only when necessary, though I do have a slight feeling that it's a fake."
  4. @Arid_Blitz @Dynamo Pad @Literally Snails Copper sighed with some content and bowed respectfully at Defiant and Canteen, keeping his eyes at them to show respect to them. Then he casually made his way off the arena, picking up his Sonic pole and cloak in the process. After putting his cloak on he went to Dynamo and wrapped him in a hug. "How did I do, buddy?" he asked.
  5. @Arid_Blitz Copper looked at Topaz for a moment before looking back at Defiant. He sighed, then casually walked over to his opponent. He had a strong feeling that this pony wouldn't have any reaction time, so once he came close enough, he aimed a half-hearted and weak axe kick to Defiant's head, and if successful, he would casually head back to where he was originally at when Defiant first passed out.
  6. "I admire your determination," Copper said to Defiant as he stood up fully. What little energy he regained was enough, along with some of the energy he had left, for one final strike. It didn't have to be overly hard or fancy, it just needed to work. "Your willpower is impressive, however you have lost this battle. You have little to no energy to continue fighting. You're only standing out of sheer determination. Just give up. There are some fights you cannot take full control of. I had just told you my strategy to beat you, and you chose to ignore the flashing red light that I have all but given you. Look at you now, battered, tired, and barely able to stand. If you continue this fight, I will only need one punch to knock you out, despite how injured I am." After that sentence, he realized he almost stepped on one of the obstacles from the previous fight. "...Huh, I forgot these were here," he said, then looked over at Defiant's general area to see if there were any obstacles in his way.
  7. @Arid_Blitz Unfortunately, Copper caught the left hoof, and there was no screaming from him now. He instead had a smirk on his face as his green aura changed into a red aura. "Nice try," he said. After Defiant dropped like a rock Copper bounced away for a bit, and was heard heavily panting, coughing up a bit of blood. This fight took more out of him than he realized, but now he had to wait for it to be officially done.
  8. @Arid_Blitz "Grahhh!" he yelled out, knocked away from the kick to his side and the gash. Sadly the side wasn't injured enough to make much of a difference, but the gash was a different story. A bit of blood came out of the gash as he fell to the ground again, and this time he was a little slow to get up. Then he saw his yellow aura starting to fade. "Nonononono, not now not now!" he shouted, then he started yelling at the top of his lungs, trying to keep the aura intact.
  9. @Arid_Blitz "Grr..." he growled, taking the kick and flopping to the ground before getting up. He looked fine, but there was an ever so slight shake of his body. "Maybe not... for long," he replied, "but it will be enough time... to finish you!" He cracked a smile again. This was more fun than he anticipated. He hoped it kept up for a bit more.
  10. @Arid_Blitz "Gah!" Copper growled out as he was hit by the punch, intensified by the Sonic Boom. It didn't hurt as much as it did if it was 70% damage reduction, but this was the big time now. He needed to stay up in order to win, and going all out on defense was the best thing to do. And he was surprised Defiant completely ignored the fact that he had basically revealed his strategy. He thought that he would change up his strategy.
  11. @Arid_Blitz Copper was actually surprised by the sight of the Sonic Boom. He knew of one other pony who could accomplish such a feat, and hers was more rainbow-ish. "Freaking yikes, that's nice." he said without looking at Defiant at the moment, and then he turned to face him, all emotion, all excitement, all of it gone. "Let's finish this," he said while assuming a battle stance.
  12. @Arid_Blitz Well, this was it. It was time for his true test of endurance. He shot his green aura out again, and this time he kept it out, signifying he was at full defense. "Before this I was at 70%. I'm not taking anymore chances if your kicks do as you say they do. COME AT ME!" He didn't sound like a mercenary anymore. He sounded like a martial artist now, and he was smiling to top it off. It looked like he was getting excited. "And maybe I could hit you up for a real test of speed after the tournament, to see who is truly faster."
  13. @Arid_Blitz When the drilling attack connected, it made Copper slide back a couple feet, leaving a bruise that covered the cut. It hurt, but not as much as one would expect. "I would not recommend that," Copper said as he looked dead in the eyes of Defiant after the onslaught, wiping the blood off of the cut from earlier. "I will say this about you; you are the fastest opponent I've ever faced, much faster than I could ever be. But there is one thing that I have over you... endurance. The moment I saw your speed yesterday was when I knew you had a heavy reliance on it, and you probably figured it out before I can finish this statement. I'm tiring you out by doing nothing but tanking the hits. I will say another thing, though. Your kicks are powerful enough to where I might have passed out if I reduced the damage by half instead of where it is now. With that said, I recommend you surrender."
  14. @Arid_Blitz Copper now couldn't keep up with the intense speed of the kicking, trying to balance himself with every step he took after each kick. However, he could hear the heavy breathing kicking in. It was a damn good thing he raised his damage reduction to 70%, otherwise he would have passed out before his plan was complete, and from what he could feel, he might have passed out with 50% damage reduction currently. He needed to hold on as best as he could. His real plan was working, the plan to make Defiant pass out by tanking as much of the hits as he could.
  15. @Arid_Blitz Copper growled a little from the uppercut that sent him back a few feet, and from seeing that Defiant figured out one of the things he's doing. "Well, you figured out one of my plans. That just leaves plan B." He sighed and brought out his green aura again for one second. "You're lucky I haven't used my blue power up, because you won't make it, and you don't want that, do you? You'd better knock me out right now."
  16. @Arid_Blitz @Literally Snails He knew he asked for it, but Copper still needed to wait it out, because he had some sort of feeling that Defiant still didn't use his full speed. For now, he had to tank the hits, but thankfully, just before the attack happened, he increased the damage reduction to about 70%. There was one problem, though. His speed when moving to attack and his reaction time were two completely different entities. He barely caught the first hoof thrown at him before aiming a hard right of his own to Defiant's face. If successful he would try to sweep his opponent and power kick him right out of the arena.
  17. @Arid_Blitz @Literally Snails The moment he saw the tiles he already knew what was coming, so he closed his eyes and just allowed it to happen, causing a big cloud of heavy dust come around him. When the dust settled, there were a few scrapes and a couple small cuts around his body, but that was it. He wasn't in much pain after that, and to top it off he didn't budge. Now he turned to face Defiant. "Can you stop messing around and actually fight?" he asked with zero emotion to him. "All I'm seeing is you being a show off. You may be fast on your hooves but you're real slow on the requirements to win. If you can't even land a proper punch, then I'll just give you a small taste of my true speed." Anyone could hear from his voice that he was dead serious. He was absolutely ANNOYED by the Pegasus.
  18. @Arid_Blitz Well this was unexpected, but then again, Defiant was a Pegasus after all. He just stood there, his hooves planted on the ground, as if he was a literal magnet to the earth below him. He kicked the polearm out of the arena, and then said to his opponent, "Just this once." He enveloped himself around a dark red aura this time. Now he was greatly increasing his speed and decreasing his defense. One second he was there, and then the next, right when Defiant was close enough to where no reaction time was possible, he just disappeared, leaving no target for Defiant except for the ground. He was now a couple feet away from the area he was in, switching back to his yellow aura. He had a feeling this would piss off Defiant, so he upped the damage reduction to 60%.
  19. @Arid_Blitz @Literally Snails "Hmph," Copper rolled his eyes and put away his Sonic Pole. He then closed his eyes and enveloped himself in a yellow colored aura, but he didn't change his fur color. After exactly two seconds he opened his eyes again, and then the aura faded. He looked at his front hooves and nodded slowly. "Okay... 35 percent sacrifice should do for now," he said to himself before looking at his opponent. "Enough stalling, One Winged Angel. I'm getting bored of how slow you're being." He wasn't even trying to joke or taunt Defiant, though his voice might have said otherwise.
  20. @Arid_Blitz It didn't matter for now. His words didn't amount to much at all. Copper knew that he would be coming just from feeling it. He used his Sonic Pole and aimed a stab of his own at Defiant's Solar plexus, effectively allowing the attack from the pegasus to hit as a result, making him grunt a bit. "Ow," he said quietly.
  21. @Arid_Blitz "Your arrogance will cost you," Copper simply said as he waited for Defiant. Since he had harnessed his Earth Pony magic long ago, he learned the ability to detect movement on the ground the size of the entire arena. He didn't need to be told, he would already sense it, and with his own speed, he could counter without a hitch. Then he realized something. This pony is relying heavily on his speed. If he could make Defiant tire out, he should be able to capitalize. But he didn't know how fast the one-winged Pegasus could go without panting, so he needed to wait it out.
  22. @Arid_Blitz @Literally Snails The only reward that Defiant would get out of Copper was a raised eyebrow and a shrug, and he caught the chunk of earth with his hoof. "Well, if you insist." he said simply and did the charge move again. But this time it was deliberate, as Copper flung himself to Defiant at a speed that would take anyone, even Defiant, off guard. And that was just his speed without any energy enhancements he could do. He attempted to trip Defiant up and push him off the arena.
  23. Copper rolled his eyes at Defiant and resumed his battle stance. This pony was really talking out of his flank, he thought. It was too bad, however, that Copper was an Earth Pony who could use the entire arena to his favor. He scraped a front hoof on the ground, looking like he was ready to charge. But instead, a chunk of Earth would ricochet upwards from below Defiant's hooves and attempt to smack his jaw HARD.
  24. @Arid_Blitz Maybe this pony's moves weren't as linear as he thought. He was rather surprised by the coming attack, but barely managed to block it. "You underestimate how fast I really am," he replied, then attempted to grab the given hind leg, and if successful he would spin himself around with Defiant and toss the opponent back to where he started.
  25. @Arid_Blitz Copper's eyes showed years of experience as well, but in a different way. He could tell this pony's movement was too linear, so he would be able to predict the action and prevent it. How he got that? From an older and far more experienced pony during his time as a mercenary. Copper basically stood there, not affected by the suction coming from the polearm. When Defiant got close enough, he swatted the pole arm away and attempted to punch his opponent's solar plexus with a surprising amount of un-hindered speed. He remembered that speed generated power, and from what he remembered yesterday, he was going to need to put in a lot of speed in this fight.
