  1. This is a great episode of endearing tales and legends of past ponies. It's something that we don't usually see from the show and it's a nice welcomed addition to build upon with these new characters and their respective stories. Rockhoof, Mistmane and Flash Magnus each were great in their display of determination, bravery and compassion and I find this episode very entertaining to watch with what these heroic ponies had done in the past.

The soundtrack is also really great in this episode too especially the one with Mistmane's legend. Hat's off to Daniel Ingram for giving it a special Oriental feel to it.

This to me goes in as one of Season 7 best and most original episode with the inclusion of new characters and stories.

  3. I didn't like Starlight Glimmer at first for who she was. Her vile motives and actions towards all of Equestrian life basically was utterly downright ruthless as a antagonist. For a character like her, I thought she was unredeemable, undeserving and felt better if she was to face dire consequences for her actions. I want to say that despite all of the terrible mistakes and intentions she did, she looked back at her old ways and she told to herself to give herself another chance through the help of Twilight. At that moment, she represented the most potential for good.

We see how much she struggled, tried and eventually grow from her old self. She learned so much, improved, acknowledged and applied what's essentially the thing that ultimately builds friendships from within the show. Within her portrayal and journey as Twilight's student to whom she is now, that's when I started to understand her and I've grown to like her for her endearing efforts and contribution as a friend to the mane 6. She looks out for Twilight and her friends, she gives them hope in times of doubt, she learns from them, relating back into her own life and she is now happy now after taking that chance.

This is why I also find her to be the most improved character for me. Somepony to let go all of their past so that they can restart in order to have a better future. This is why I like Starlight Glimmer for whom she is now and not for whom she was.

  4. This is one of those episodes that if they just meet and talk each other in the beginning then none of these issues wouldn't even happen. Spike should of just introduce them even with his over-reacting assumptions about how Dragons and Changelings won't get along but instead he tries to separate them and lie to them, eventually creating the problem. I know for the sake of the moral or lesson of the episode but saying it like that, Spike should of known how both Ember and Thorax were because he knows them for who they are, not who they were and Twilight should of suggest to Spike to allow them to meet instead of helping him trying to hide them from each other. What's the worst thing that can happen? Twilight being the Princess of Friendship and she didn't see that issue. One thing though, Ember and Thorax pretty much solve their issues even without Spike despite the map calling Spike for a friendship problem. I feel like the map wasn't necessary in this episode and it was useless besides knowing now that it can call Spike anytime.

Thorax on the other hand, has brought up "rogue" changelings which is another interesting question about how the new reformed changelings are adjusting towards their new lives after being free from Chrysalis. This raises a issue with the season 6 finale when the other changelings change so suddenly when it took Thorax awhile to acknowledge and accept love through friendship. Maybe those changelings are just doing it for the moment, hypocrites in their reformation or really struggling to accept their new forms and way of life. This may have something to do with a potential future episode maybe involving Chrysalis, perhaps.

Lyra and Coco Crusoe were quiet frankly an surprise in this episode especially with speaking roles, which is nice. Poor Derpy and towards her muffin.

  5. Well...summer is pretty much over for me after this weekend and I think I enjoyed it very much. Looking back, I did a lot of things that I wanted to do like taking breathtaking pictures of the Milky Way in the Sierras and also the traveling to the coast.

    Time passes by so fast.

  6. If there's no need to, then there's no reason why telling someone that I'm a Brony. There's a lot that people don't know about me and telling that I'm a Brony isn't my first priority when meeting or talking to others, especially for the first time. If the conversation does eventually lead to discussing TV shows/characters or something similar, then sure I would feel free to tell.

I'm not going to openly share or proclaim that "I'm a brony" or "I watch My Little Pony" to just anyone if the subject in that nature was never brought up in the first place. Also, it would depend on how much I can trust that person too.
