  1. After sleeping for a while, Rhett woke up with full energy. He got up from his bed and went into the living room and saw Melody still there, sleeping on the couch. If he was being honest, she was quite adorable to look at. Not in a creepy way, but just in a 'adorable sleeper' way. He smiled and sat down beside her, rubbing a hand over his face. After a few seconds, he could faintly hear her mumbling something under her breath. He raised a brow and leaned in closer, making out the word 'Luna'. He wasn't sure what it meant, but judging by how she was saying it, it must be someone she was looking for. "I know how you feel, sister." He sighed. He adjusted his posture a little, and felt something under him. He reached under his leg to find the remote. "So that's where that went." He smiled. He sat it down on the coffee table, not wanting to wake Melody, and leaned his head back and closed his eyes. He was just resting them, mainly because there was nothing else to do at the moment.
  2. Yeah, sure. I'm fine with that. It would be a nice change than what I normally do
  3. Rhett entered his room and flopped onto his bed, immediately closing his eyes to try and sleep. He thought of Melody for a moment, and his mind began to wonder. 'I wonder if she'll still be here once I wake up?' He thought to himself. 'I mean, this is all still so weird and crazy, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it all was just my mind.' Soon though, he fell into a deep sleep. He started dreaming about life was back over in Afghanistan, the horror of it all.
  4. After what felt like hours, Rhett turned off the computer and the amp. "Ah, well, that was fun, but I am super tired right now. I'm going to head to bed, but feel free to explore around the house a bit." He put up his guitar and yawned. "I'll probably only be a few hours, and it's only eleven." He glanced to his watch. He walked out of the room and turned back to Melody,"Just so you know, if you need to go into my room while I'm asleep, don't go snooping around in my closet. No offense, but I have some things in there that may or may not hurt you, if they're handled wrong of course." He was talking about his gun-safe, and even though it was locked, he still felt better if no-one went messing with it.
  5. Rhett was...amazed, to say at the least. He was expecting it, of course, but it was just on a whole different level of greatness. He smiled,"Wow, now that's something. You could easily top anyone who tried to take your title of 'Most amazing female singer'." He gave a chuckle,"Now, since you've proved yourself, allow me show you why I love guitars." Not a second later, Rhett began playing the same song by heart, not even having the video playing. It was one of his favorites, so he knew it top to bottom. He could play the entire song deaf even. As the more heavy parts came in, he would bob his head to the beat, not even caring that Melody was right there, granted she was blind.
  6. Although he was still asleep, the music Scarlet played calmed him down in no time. Soon, he was back to snoring, a bit of drool escaping his mouth.
  7. Rhett plucked a few strings of the guitar, making sure it was in tune, then pulled up a few songs he thought would be nice. Out of the three, he picked this(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mHhFrdnT44), and pulled up the lyric video. "Alright, now this song has...harsher vocals than what you may be used too, but if you watch this video, you could just sing it entirely clean." He suggested. "It's up to you, but who knows, there may be some untold talents in your voice." He full-screened it and started the video.
  8. Yeah, sorry, I've been really busy as of late. Plus my sleep routine is messed up, so I'm not in a good way
  9. Sam was still asleep, snoring softly every other breath. Again, he was dreaming about the cliff, but this time it was a much larger object he could see. Along with that, he fell once trying to grab it, but instead of hitting water, he landed on soft grass. As he explored, he found a cave which seemed to have a light from deep inside. The closer he got, though, the light began to fade. Soon, it was pitch black.
  10. Rhett nodded,"Alright then. Onwards, to the recording room!" He walked onto the back patio, which had glass walls and roof. There was a smaller room to the right, which was the room he played and made music in. He opened the door and walked inside, flicking on the light. Inside, there was a desk with all the recording software, amps and pedals. All along the sides of the room were dozens of guitars, ranging from six string electrics to five string basses. There was also a microphone in the corner with its own amp, and everything ran into the main software on his computer. "Ah, feels good to be back in here." He sighed. "So, the microphone is in the left corner of the room. Just turn on the amp and you're good to go. I'll pick out a guitar and we can start." He started browsing his 'babies', as he called them, and picked out a seven string Ibanez. He sat down on the chair and plugged it into the amp, along with turning on the computer and the programs.
  11. "How about..." Rhett though for a few moments,"we do some song writing?" He pumped a fist in the air,"Yeah, I've been meaning to write some more material, and now I've go the perfect opportunity. I'll start by writing down some chords and such, and you could sing whatever over them. I mean, I have some lyrics on hand, but they're kinda...not suited for your voice." He rubbed the back of his neck. "The guitars aren't meant for the type of singing you do either, but I think I can manage." Then he rubbed his chin,"Or, just for fun, we could do a cover of some songs. It's up to you though, we don't have too."
  12. "Hmm, I'm not the romantic type." Sam joked. "Still, since you mentioned it, you are beautiful." He smiled and closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep. Whatever was in store for him, he would be ready.
  13. Huh, I could have sworn my message before went through. Oh well
  14. "Neither do I, but hey, it's the world I live in. Humans may seem violent and greedy, but hey, look at me. If anyone else would have found you, you would probably be in Area 51 right now." He got up, deciding that that was enough for Melody's heart,"Why don't we do something that's more...enjoyable? I think I may have gotten carried away, I'm sorry."
  15. He shrugged,"Kinda. Not where we are now, so you don't have to worry." He leaned back,"See, I'm in, or was in, the military of this country, which is called America, by the way. The United States of America, to be proper. A country across the globe, called Afghanistan, picked a fight with us. So, we retaliated and soldiers were sent across the sea to fight them." He explained. "Our allies joined in as well, but they attacked us in specific." He thought about what to say next."Since you don't know much about this place, and you are...not desensitized to this stuff, it won't be pretty." "Anyways, wars have happening for centuries. Before Christ was born, people were fighting then too. It was over stupid things, such as land and money, but people still died. It's not all bad, since the last major war before this one was about seventy years ago. We've developed many things since then, such as phones, the internet, and stuff. The country that we're fighting as of now aren't as advanced as us in the technological tree."
  16. Rhett sighed,"Alright then. Let's have a seat on the couch, and I'll fill you in on our world a little." He led Melody back into the living room and sat on the sofa. "So," he started,"by line of fire, I mean pulling someone out of an exploded Humvee, who had their entire lower body torn to shreds by the I.E.D, about twenty feet behind the sand dune, where the rest of the rest of the guys were." His tone was sad, if not almost guilty. "We also had about two dozen Taliban shooting at us too, so that didn't help. "The kid was fresh out of training, ready to kill anyone who threatened his country." He chuckled, but then went back to a sad tone,"I just wished I was faster." He rubbed a hand over his face, reliving the events as if they had happened moments ago.
  17. Rhett gave a small wince, realizing Melody must not know about the horrors of war. He wanted to try and find the right way to tell her, and since she seemed so innocent on that sort of stuff, he didn't think she would take it well. "Uh...well, you see..." he started, but couldn't find the right words. "Do you really want to know? It's not a...nice subject." As he waited for her response, he couldn't help but notice a mark on her...flank as she was still drying off. It was odd, but then again, the whole situation was odd. He decided to wait for now, she didn't seem to want to go anywhere...not yet at least.
  18. Rhett walked to the small closet at the end of the hall after putting his guitar back up, grabbing one of the many towels stacked up. He closed the door and went back to Melody, hoping she would grab it with he magic. He would admit, it was pretty cool to watch. "Nah, of course you aren't. Been a while since I really connected with anyone, without trying to drag them out of the line of fire." He laughed. "Here's the towel, and try not to track water everywhere. These wooden floors cost a fortune, you know."
  19. So, this is an idea I've had for a while. Basically, a pair of ponies find a rouge portal and go into it, transporting them to Earth. Sad part is, it's maybe five years after a -blank- apocalypse. So, the Humans find said ponies and the four end up traveling across America to find them a way back home. Along the way, they deal with all sorts of threats, including sickness, injuries and bandits. I have the premise in mind, and I would like just up to four people, but as for the apocalypse itself, it's up for debate. I was probably thinking zombies, but I can do most anything really. Except for nuclear, I've had too many bad experiences with them. As for characters, I would prefer two ponies and two Humans, but three ponies and one Human or vise versa could work. If you are interested, let me know. Thanks! P.s. If you want to send a picture of your character/s, then that's fine. If not, you can just detail them in this chat, but I beg you, don't make your character an arsenal. Have two primary long guns, with a couple attachments if need be, a side-arm and a melee weapon of your choice, along with respective ammo and such. I'll make an OOC and a RP chat once three people are interested. If you want too, you can give me some ideas for the plot as well. P.s.s I don't have a picture of my character, but I will describe him for you. Name-Rhett Blake Bishop Gender-Male Age-29 Height-6'1/2 Appearance-Rhett has curly brown hair that reaches his shoulders, bright blue eyes and a soft, but serious face. He mostly wears some sort of flannel and blue jeans, along with black boots. He has a few scars, a small one across his nose and two on his back. Also, he has a tattoo sleeve down his right arm and a small hoop in each ear. Personality-He is calm, usually being the smartest guy in the room. When he is confronted, he will try to work things out in a peaceful way if possible, but won't back down from the alternative. He has Aspergers, which makes it hard for him to communicate with new people and even harder to seem friendly, as years of surviving shaped him differently than before. However, he has the tendency to become enraged when someone makes fun of him, even if it was a joke. Gear-An M16A4 with a Comp-Aimpoint sight and a vertical fore-grip, and four magazines. An Ithca model 37 with a flashlight, and twenty-five 12 gauge shells. A Sig Sauer P226 with a supressor, and three magazines. Lastly, a forged steel Kukri, with an ergonomic handle and sheath. Good Traits-Good with guns, knows how to cook, loves playing guitar. Has a nice way with words, like-able and very proficient in medicine. Bad Traits:Has a bad knee, doesn't do good in hostile situations, and can't seem to get a good night's rest. He tends to get carried away, can be a little annoying at times and lots of nitpicks.
  20. Sam smiled pulling the rose out for her to see. "Ah, nothing. Just a rose, don't know why anyone would find it beautiful." His voice was laced with sarcasm. He put it in her hair,"Take it out before you sleep though, that might be bad to wake up too." He then wrapped his hand over Scarlet's shoulder, pulling her closer.
  21. Rhett nodded,"You're welcome. I figured you just needed to get it all out, one way or another. I'm just glad it was in tune, it would have killed the moment if it wasn't, yeah?" He then stood up,"Why don't you come back in, you could catch a cold. I have some towels you can dry yourself off with." He motioned for her, but remembered Melody was blind. He would have to get used to that.
  22. Rhett watched as she walked out the door, and was about to tell her to close the door at least, but she was already gone. He gave a loud sigh and leaned back on the couch, closing his eyes. Why did he really even try. It was bound to happen anyway, and now he would probably never see her again. Maybe she was just a figment of his imagination, something to get him to see that not everything was just killing. He was about to go to sleep when he heard something outside. As he listened closer, he realized it was singing. He stood up and walked to the front door, and he looked outside to still see Melody just singing her heart out. It was very beautiful, almost rivaling that of his mother. He smiled, leaning against the doorway, a few droplets landing on his face every now and then. He loved music, anything heavy really, but he didn't mind a slow romantic song every now and again. Though this wasn't about romance, it was still as beautiful as one. He got a strange feeling to sing as well, but he had no idea what to sing along with to the song. Then, he got an idea. He quickly went over to the doorway of the living room and grabbed his acoustic guitar from its stand and went back to the doorway. The tone and the speed she was singing at reminded him of a specific song. He started strumming away, being very talented at playing. (The song he is playing is the acoustic part from Broken by Seether)
  23. As Melody stared at him with her empty eyes, Rhett felt like the weight of the world fell on his shoulders. He was never good with trying to make someone feel better. The things he said before were just something he thought up on the fly, even though it was true. He had to think of something, and not muck it up. "Well, I can't say you will." His voice was filled with sadness. "However, you are here. You need to do everything in your power to live, and if God allows, find a way home. Don't put your needs behind others, even if they're your family. What matters right now, is you." Well, in all of his life, he's never said that good of a pep-talk, even if it was just thought up on the dime. "If you feel like you need to cry, go ahead. I can't say you will get home, but I can say as long as you try, you can live."
  24. Rhett frowned at the sight. She must have really missed where she was from. He decided it would be best to move off the topic, for Melody's sake. "Hey, it's alright. I know how you feel." He consoled. "You don't have to talk about it if it upsets you, I understand completely." Fact was, he did know how she felt, even if it wasn't the same. He spent a few months in a country across the globe that wanted nothing to do with him, so this was almost the same.
  25. Rhett gave a light chuckle,"Fair enough." He sat in silence for a minute or two after the comment her comment about a normal life. He didn't know how to answer it, seeing as he had no idea where to even begin. Was this pony still real? I mean, he felt her fur when he was doing the ice thing, so he wasn't dreaming. Was he crazy? PTSD wasn't completely ruled out yet, but then again, he didn't really know if it caused hallucinations. "So..." he started,"where are you from?" Then he remembered Melody already told him. "Oh, I mean, what's it like where you're from. Equestria, if I'm not mistaken, right?" He grabbed his can of soda and took a few sips of it.
