Rhett smiled,"Well, it's nice to meet you Melody. I just wished it was under...better circumstances." As weird as the situation still was for him, he couldn't help but be the nice guy he was. No matter the person or thing, he would try to be as nice as possible. After a little bit, he took the ice off of Melody's leg and looked at the others on her side. "Hmm, looks like your leg was the only one that needed treatment. They should fade away in a days time, give or take." He sat up and went into the kitchen, disposing of the melting ice. He then came back into the living room and sat back down on the couch, rubbing a hand over his face. "You know, I never thought I would be sitting next to a multi-colored pony who could talk." He then quickly added in,"No offense, of course."

Sam knocked a few times before entering,"It's me." He wanted to let her know before he barged in there. Before he went in, he hid the rose behind his back, but just enough so it wasn't too obvious. Once stepping into her room, the first thing he noticed was just the overall feeling. It felt homely, like he was already living there. He smiled as he saw her already laying in bed, but first he put his things next to the table and went back to the bed. He took off his boots, shirt and belt, which seemed to become a routine for him now. He lightly fell onto the mattress, careful not to crush the rose. He gave a yawn,"This is real nice."

Rhett slowly put the bag of ice onto her leg, holding it there. When he heard her ask for his name, he smiled. "Rhett Bishop." He lifted the ice to check the injury. "I was just about to ask the same thing." He then grabbed a pillow from behind him and put it under her leg, setting the ice back down on it.

Rhett gave a small frown,"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know." He then nodded,"Yeah, no one here has magic. It's just a myth, but there are some people who say it can be found in special potions brewed up by witch doctors. Dark magic, but I think it's just fake news." He picked up the bag of ice,"Alright, let's start on those bruises. You have one on your front foreleg and a couple on your side, so I'll lay this bag of ice on your leg first, then I'll put some pain reliever on it. If you are in pain that is, but if not, I'll get some pillows and elevate it above your heart. It'll help with the blood flow."

Magic? Rhett could hardly believe it, but then again, he was talking to a...well, a talking Unicorn. So he just decided to go with it. "Well, I guess that's cool." Back to her other question, he didn't know why she brought up the solar system and the like. "Well, yeah. Human's don't have magic, except for magicians, but that's just smoke and mirrors. Fake magic, if you will." He paused. "Then weather does it's own thing, and no one controls the sun or moon. We're just...here, in a sense." Like it was on queue, he saw the rain start falling down outside. He smiled, since he hasn't seen it in months. The Middle East usually never got any, plus it was nice to look at. "So, yeah, we don't have magic, but speaking of things, I wanted to ask you. What's up with the blindfold?" He pointed out the cloth over the pony's eyes.

Rhett's jaw hit the floor upon seeing the glass lift up in a golden aura. His mind was back to racing a hundred miles an hour. 'How is it lifting up! Where's the strings? Good, I'm going completely insane. That's nice, just perfect.' He yelled internally. He continued to stare, probably to the point where it was almost creepy. He broke his gaze and grabbed the bag of ice. "No...problem...uh, how are you doing that?" He asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. "How is it just...floating there?"

Rhett poured a glass, but then realized, how was she going to drink it? She didn't have hands, and the horn on her head was probably just for show...maybe...but maybe she could figure it out. He didn't want to seem like a jerk by pouring it in a bowl and letting her drink out of it like a dog. She was a pony, but she could talk. If that meant anything, it's that she wasn't just an animal. With a sigh, he put the jug back in the fridge and took a few more ice cubes and put them in the glass, hopefully she wouldn't mind. He never liked watering down his drinks, but a cold glass could help anyone. Before he forgot, he grabbed the first aid kit and the bag of ice. He went into the living room, and he couldn't help but notice the sad, but thoughtful look on her face. The strange thing was, it looked too Human for his liking. 'This is something else.' He thought to himself. Still in her trance, he sat down beside her with his own sad expression. He wanted to leave her be, but he simply couldn't. "Hey, I got everything we need." He sat the ice, the glass of juice and the kit on the coffee table. "This shouldn't take but a few minutes."

He closed the freezer,"Alright, if you say so." When she asked for the cider, it confused him for a second, but after a few seconds, he realized what she meant. "Oh, you mean...Gotcha." He opened the fridge and looked to see if he had any apple cider, as he quite liked it as well. Sadly, though, he didn't see any."Huh, sorry, but I don't have any. I haven't really had the chance to go out to the store yet. I have some apple juice though, if that's alright."

Sam nodded in agreement and broke off when his door came up. He took out his key and unlocked it, stepping inside. He grabbed his things, and was about to leave when he saw a flowerpot sitting on the table. He didn't know how he missed it, but that didn't matter. Inside the pot was a bundle of roses, and it gave him the perfect idea. He carefully took one of the roses, and after deciding he had everything, exited the room, locked it again, and walked down to Scarlet's room.

"No." Rhett shrugged. "I'm just an exception, I guess." Then, without missing a beat, he walked down the hallway into his room. If his thoughts were correct, this pony was not from around here. Although she was a real thing, it was weird how she seemed...like something from a cartoon. It kinda bothered him, but he had a job to do. He hurried to the nightstand next to his bed and grabbed a first-aid kit, then remembered that he would need some ice. He then went back into the kitchen and got a small zip-lock bag and put some ice in it from the freezer. "Are you thirsty, hungry? Both maybe?" He called to her. If she's been lost for who knows how long, she was probably starving.

Sam smiles,"Alright, whatever you say. Let's get some rest, we'll start tomorrow and get everything ready." Then, Sam remembered something. "Do you know where the blacksmith is? If we're going to go on this adventure, as you put it, I'm going to need some armor. Nothing too fancy, maybe just some chain-mail and such. When I was making my way here, I ran into some trouble, but I got away without a scratch. I just would like to be safe than sorry."

Sam smiled,"You know, I think I would enjoy sharing a room. It's been a while, and I think we're going to need all the money we can get, yes?" He took back the note, folded it and put it back into his coat pocket, and put an arm around Scarlet as they neared the tavern. "What about you? Do you have any idea where your parents could be?" He asked.

Sam sighed,"When I reach the mangrove, look to the sky and follow it. I should have told you it doesn't make any sense, not to me that is." He smiled,"And as much as that would be helpful, I don't think it would work. See, Henry told me he couldn't understand any sort of magic, and he would go to great lengths just to stay away from it." He pointed to a small dot on the paper. "That right there is a sort of blocker, and no magic can change the shape, writing, or age." Sam always knew Henry was one to over do, but this was something else. He would never go this far to make sure it arrived in the same condition as he wrote it in.

Rhett stood out of the way for her to come through the door, but her question only made Rhett more curious about the pony, as examining new things was right up his alley. "I'm a Human" He stated simply. "I could ask the same of you, but first, let's get those bruises looked at, yeah?" Inside the house, he noticed she had a few nasty looking spots on her. He didn't know what happened to her, but they looked like they should have some proper first-aid. Luckily, Rhett was trained and knew how to help. "If you don't mind, could you go and sit in the living room? It's to your left, I need to go get a few things, so wait there." He motioned to the couch.

Sam handed her the letter,"Well, this one he sent was very odd. I mean, just look at his signature. I know you haven't seen it before, but just look at the way it's wrote." He sighed, fearing that what she said about the slave traders could be right,"The letters are shakily written, like he was sitting over a tub of hot water about to be dumped in it." "And no, he never even thought to step foot outside without asking. He was the good kid, better than I was growing up, actually. I was the one who got into trouble, and he would get me out." He chuckled, reliving the memories. "When he moved away, though, he said something that makes a lot of sense now than before."

Ah, I see. Well, I hope you get better

Right. So, what's your schedule looking like today? Since it's night over in the U.S of A, I got hours of time. Not trying to force you, just would like to know, yeah?

As Sam walked alongside her, he noticed he forgot to mention something. "Scarlet, do you remember when I said I was staying for a week or two when we first met?" He said. "Well, I was actually thinking of living here, or somewhere close to here. My brother, Henry, moved here a few years ago, and he always begged me to come visit. I just never had the time, but I finally gave in and decided to move in with him for a while, just to get a different look on life." He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. "This was the the letter he wrote before he...well, disappeared. I've been trying to find him ever since."

Sorry I didn't reply for a while, my sleep schedule is really mucked up. I mean, I slept from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. I'll try to fix it

This day just kept getting more and more weird by the second for Rhett. What kind of place was that? As much as he wanted to know, he had more pressing matters to attend to. He sat in silence while the pony continued to sob. Wherever she was from, it seemed as if she thought it was lost forever. He thought it would be best to try and make her stop crying, so she could explain better. "Well, I still don't know where this is? I'm sorry." He frowned. "Why don't you come on inside, the forecast called for a bad storm in the next couple hours, and it wouldn't be nice to stay out in it." He wished that would cheer her up, or at the very least make her stop crying. It wasn't very nice to watch for him.

"Your home?" He repeated. "Well, I can tell you I've never heard of a place like that before." He sat down on his rump, since his knee was already giving out. "What sort of home is Equestria? Is it the name of a ranch around here?"

The sound of sobbing broke Rhett out of his state, causing him to get up and slowly go back to the front door. No matter the situation, he hated seeing anyone or anything sad. He peeked around the corner, and saw the pony sitting on its haunches, obvious tears down its face. His heart broke at the sight, and even though it was not supposed to exist, he couldn't help but feel sorry for it. He moved to the door, slowly as to not frighten it. Once he was there, he sat on his knee to get to its level so he didn't look intimidating. He sat there for a few moments, trying to find the right words to say. "Hey, I'm sorry if I made you sad. I've just never seen...anything like you before, so forgive the way I acted." He consoled. "It's still weird how you can talk, though, but I think I heard you say something about Equestria?" He gave a friendly smile to assure her, at least he assumed it was a her, he wouldn't hurt her.

"Your wish is my command." Sam laughed. He looked up to the sky, which was almost now about to see the light of morning. "We should probably get back, it's almost day." He said while getting out of the water. He grabbed his shirt, boots, belt and folded them over his arms.

"Well, why don't we make that happen then." Sam proclaimed. "You want to find out about your parents, I need to find out what happened to my brother. It's a good deal for both of us." He wrapped a hand around her shoulder, laying his head against hers. "I wouldn't let anything happen to you, I swear on the heavens."

Rhett heard the pony talk again, and he looked to see it still there, a little less frightened than before. "Wha...E-Equestria?" What the...tiny horse pony thing had mentioned added just even more confusion for him. He was starting to question his sanity when he felt himself become lightheaded. He turned around, leaving the front door open, and walked into the living room and flopped onto the couch, mumbling things even he didn't understand.
