    When I first started watching Friendship is Magic, 

    Rarity and Fluttershy were the names I had the most difficult time remembering.

      As far as names go I didn't have trouble remembering mane6 names. I think there was a moment when I looked at some unfortunate pony, like Sweetie Belle, and I barely could remember their names.

      at the first episode i thought Rainbow Dash was a dude, and at first, i thought that Sweetie Belle was called SweeNie belle

      I knew all of the Mane 6 were female, but I thought Derpy and DJ Pon-3 were male. :o I have no idea why, other than that I hadn't realized there was a different character model for mares and stallions! :please:
