I've just had a Derpy moment.
I was just changing the light bulb in my room since the previous one went kaput last night. Anyway, as I was fitting the new bulb, I was struggling to see what I was doing and so the Derpy part of the brain suggests "Why not turn the light on to see what you're doing?"

@DemeowHiya I've had times where I've been making a cup of tea and turned around to put the kettle in the fridge ebfore stopping myself.
@Samurai Equine The closest I can get to that is where I've picked up the TV remote without realising that I'm trying to use it upside down. "Huh? Are the batteries dead? Nope! Only the ones in my brain."
I'm a genius on one hand, but a complete dummy on another. Classic one is where I think I've misplaced my glasses only to realise that I'm wearing them.

@Treeglow Flicker I've done that before. Except usually it's because it's dark in my room, and I'm half asleep.
