  1. "But I didn't break/" fen started as the door fell. "Oh... I'm sorry..." Fenikku sat down, carefully watching for anything he could accidentally break. After a few minutes, his thoughts began to fester and he tried to think about something different. He began too look at his Mistress and noticed how small she was for how easily she'd just dragged him. He began wondering just how strong she was, a little intimidated.
  2. Following the sweet scent Fen crashed through the ship's deck followed the trail to Natsuki's quarters. His mind began to finally register his new servitude with mixed emotions. On the one hand, it wasn't pleasant to be forced to do anything, but at least Natsuki was nice and could give him decent structure as he obeyed her. "So what happens now?"
  3. Still on his knees, Fenikku caught it midair with his mouth and was happily eating his prize as his new Mistress filled out the paperwork. He noticed a slight calmness as the part of his brain that tried avoid this situation had quieted down from shock or from giving up on him. Either way, he was enjoying the sweet roll too much to care about it.
  4. Some part of Fen's tiny thinking brain was flipping the hell out. It was desperately trying to gain control but the best it could manage to get was for Fen to slowly pull his mouth off of Natsuki's hand and after a moment of stillness ask her, "Um... can I eat that please?"
  5. @ By the time he'd realized what was happening with being dragged, Fenikku felt a sudden poke behind his ear and couldn't move his legs or arms, before the logic part of his brain could react he saw the sweetroll and his instincts trampled it as he lunged forward and ended up with Natsuki's entire hand in his mouth, as he finally noticed, he rolled his eyes up and said to her, "Way... Wah?" muffle by his mouth full of hand.
  6. Unsure of what to after his morning bath, Fenikku had asked one the servants for advice. The small woman was intimidated by him and stuttered that that his group was leaving on a ship today. He thanked her and headed for the docks. As he headed there he got mixed up and ended up around the restaurants and shop owners. At the mention of free food, he nearly trampled people for a plate of rice cakes. He continued this trend in a few other places, almost undoubtably limiting any future giveaways for the shops he passed. As he had some sushi, he finally remembered where he was supposed to be headed and arrived to the docks, hearing the commander's yelling. "Commander what happened?!" Fenikku shouted as he ran over, *accidentally slamming some woman into the water nearby.
  7. As Fen examined his sword, he decided he'd keep it as his own, rather than toss it aside like he had done with others. He wanted to name it but was unable to think of a good name for it. Ultimately, he fell asleep trying to come up with a good name and the blade rested beside him because it was an inanimate object he fallen asleep holding.
  8. As Fenikku raided Natsuki's underwear drawer (I think you know me by now XD ) paced in his room, he could feel his mind wandering into the bad thoughts. He picked up his sword, planning to go hit a practice dummy, but noticed his blade and remembered its change. He thought how his fire, a tool of senseless destruction, had actually healed the sword of its flaws, as if he'd burn away it's injuries and imperfections. "I wish I could burn him away..." he muttered as he thought about his Oni father and his brother's murder in his home on that horrible daaAAAHHHH!!! His mind halted as he pressed his hands to his head, his powers igniting his palms and burning him. He felt shocked, and surprised he'd actually been able to burn back those painful memories. He returned to his thoughts about his powers and started wondering what other beneficial applications they had... though not with such intelligent wording.
  9. Fenikku simply sat in his room looking at the paintings and decorations. He bathed by striping naked and burning the dirt and grime off himself with his magic. He liked hot springs but didn't comfortable entering while there were women already bathing in there.
  10. "Will we search in a group or by ourselves?" Fenikku asked, "and where's the fight?" He was glad it was a simple scavenger hunt. A more complex mission usually meant he couldn't fight anything, and that he'd screw it up from that. He also knew he was powerful and wanted one of those himself.
  11. Fenikku's admiration became confused fear instantly, "Tani? Aww crap, the nice commander thinks I know something that I don't... Now he'll think I'm dumb and... dumb... Well maybe if I listen good the others will explain it so I just need to..." His gray face became red as he realized every word of what he just said was out loud. He looked at Shiho and said "I told you I'm not smart didn't I..?
  12. Fenikku was shocked by difference in his blade. For a moment it was weightless and much hotter. He released the Soul Forge and discovered the scrap metal sword he'd been been given was fully restored. As he sheathed his sword, he saw a black burn on the part of his hand that had been closest to the blade. Before he could say anything, his new commander steped out so he bowed, "Nice to meet you!" It was clear this guy wasn't some royal lapdog with his snout in the air, this was someone Fenikku could get along with, a man who earned his position not by royal favors, but by his sweat, tears, and the blood of his foes. "Hell, I'll settle for being this guys bodyguard if he asks," he though with admiration. Fenikku sat down and waited patiently for his instructions.
  13. After a moment Fenikku understood her, "Oh ok... If the emperor is in there he'd send someone to get us... Fire soul forges? You think you could help mine?" Without thinking about it, Fen walked a few paces over sand drew the katana his commander gave him. It was a cracked, rusty blade and would have trouble with butter, but that didn't matter because it glowed orange for a moment then exploded. The shrapnel hovered in the air, outlining a large blade as fire poured out of the hilt and warped itself to the shape of the outline, leaving a giant blade of fire in Fenikku's hand. "My brother taught me to use it. He said I was good at it because I get angry easily like fire does. What does yours do?" Fen wasn't used to being with people like him so he saw this ability as a common ground to make a new friend.
  14. "Hmm..? Oh, hey I'm Fenikku. Unknown? No, I'm here for the same thing as always; to fight. I'm not smart but I can fight really good! If the emperor called for me, he wants a warrior." Taking a moment to examine the woman before him, Fen saw a lot of strange items and weapons. "What are you a battle plan maker? Warrior? Some kinda clown?" It was clear that he was genuinely too stupid to be more polite and he didn't know what her role was. "Though the emperor don't really need a clown so..."
  15. With a final punch, the last challenger was on the ground, but Fenikku wasn't satisfied. "Come on men! None of you even want to try?" He sighed as even his fellow Onijin simply shook their heads. "Well this is no fun..." he thought. The outpost he was stationed at was far from any action, so the only things Fen could do was duel and hunt, and if he didn't do anything, he'd fester about the past. Just as this process began, Fenikku saw a messenger enter his tent. "Something big must be happening friend," he said with a chuckle. "What the hell are you talking..." Fenikku drifted off as he read the letter and instantly began smiling. "Nobody calls me to think, especially not the emperor! Which means they need a warrior to fight something!!!" He nearly knocked over the messenger as he went to report to his CO, who waved him off, promising to handle the paperwork of him leaving, and giving him a list of supplies for the armorer to give him. With a basic sword, and a days rations, he headed straight for the capital; adrenaline, stamina, and excitement bringing him there by nightfall, upon which time he was led to where he'd stay as he waited for the others.
  16. "Tell you what, I don't think the young mare with us will enjoying watching a fight, and I don't enjoy killing anyone who I'm not sure needs to die, so like I said, we've got things to do." Cosmo started walking around the Pegasus (that's what he is right?), but cast a pair of spells to make him invisible and create an image of him that walked a few paces ahead of him. "I don't feel like standing here, but I'm not sure I can trust him..." he thought grimly. "Oh, and if you do try shooting us in the back, it won't take two breaths for me to slice you in fourths, wits or no."
  17. "You're dead if you don't. I have my blades and speed, my friend has a gun, and our young lady is gifted with magic. You've got one shot to defeat three opponents, so I'll assume anyone capable of using tech like that to be able to do the math there. We've got better things to do than play this stalemate so I'll say it again. If you'll lower your hoof so we're sure you won't try anything, we'll save our ammo and energy for any raiders we meet. Deal?"
  18. Cosmo crossed his blades and moved between them, "I'd prefer you put the gun away before he turns those bullets into bombs," he said to Rye. He gave the stallion ahead of him a flat stare. "What's the battery life on that? I see those panels on your back but I also see a lot of clouds today. Besides, my swords have enough steel in them to draw in any electricity, and telekinesis doesn't conduct that kind of energy. You're a little high tech for a raider so if you'll play nice, so will we."
  19. Quiet as it was, Cosmo heard Rye's sigh. "If you're worried about me messing up, just be aware that I've kept myself safe for the past three years. You don't need to worry about me... Or am I 'intruding'?" Cosmo asked the last part through Telepathy but regretted it because of the train of thought that followed and led his mind back to Lyth...
  20. @ @@Scribblegroove "I'd like to join you if that's ok," Cosmo said as he trotted up to them, "I don't know where any town is but I can help if we run into raiders..." Cosmo adjusted the straps on his sheathes and checked that the blades didn't have a bunch of dried blood on them. Satisfied, glanced up at the ponies to make they weren't objecting to his help.
  21. Cosmo glanced at the knife, "A good aim... Too bad he'd be defenseless at this point... You're an interesting moron..." Cosmo gave him a cool glare and trotted off, returning his Katana to their sheathes, a quick glance at Flame in Rush's arms gave him the idea he wouldn't need any help protecting her, he already plenty of motivation to.
  22. (Hey man, try shipping and Cosmo will blast you across the room again ) As he scooted back, he felt a pair of floating blades crossed against the back of his neck, "And you decided tackling her was clever... how?" The heartbroken Cosmo was gone, now replaced with the side of Cosmo rooted into the code his being, the avenger. His voice was low and threatening, "I don't care who you are, but if you can't give a good reason for sneaking in here..." Cosmo levitated the blade to gently move in front of the stallions throat. He had no intention of killing the intruder, as he tried to silently convey to Lost Flame. He knew she didn't want any more deaths. The Pegasus on the other hoof... He probably wouldn't feel lucky enough to call Cosmo's bluff. (I was too slow ignore this)
  23. Cosmo sighed and shrugged, "I guess I owe my story to you... And since you asked first..." He took a breath and began, "My entire story is that I was born and raised in a clan of assassins led by my father. When I was 14 I realized I hated it there and with help from my family's guardian spirit and celebrated ancestor Fade Shadesteel, I managed to kill enough of them to escape, including my father. After that I went to Celestia for judgement... Kinda the same idea as how you found me... which would you Princess Luna, who recognized my remorse and got me a pardon and another chance in life. In time I became her Royal assassin, and was given this cloak as a symbol of office. In time I became more of a solo agent who she trusted to help with general threats by traveling around looking for ponies to help. I met a group of a former Royal Guard pegasus, a Unicorn specialized in fire magic, ironic considering he was a sailor with a ship and everything. On a quest to help resolve his own family issues, I met and fell in love with Selythria Moonshade, an earth pony who was a high ranking priestess in the Church of Night. She was amazing in many ways, most notably that she could use magic through runes. We hadn't even finished half the trip before she'd converted me to her religion," Cosmo lifted his amulet for a moment, "and I proposed to her... When got back, we were planning our wedding... That's when the war hit us. Fade used to live in my sword," he gestured to the silver katana, "but he cast a spell to send Lyth and I into the future, in doing so severing himself from the last of my bloodline and drifting off into the afterlife. I'm still not sure why Lyth didn't get sent here with me, but I eventually found the ruins of our church. The sword was there with her corpse, surrounded by wards so that only I could retrieve it... That was six months ago... and the way you found is how I've been since that day..." After a long pause Cosmo spoke again, "I'll listen to you now but I don't care if you want to keep your story to yourself. I trust you, and I don't want to go back to my solitude..."
  24. Cosmo nodded at the explanation. "Lost Flame huh... Nice to meet you. As for my story... I don't know it's... well... I've never really enjoyed talking about my history. I was born into bad luck, found my way out, and few years later, here we are... I'd rather spare you the... details..." as he spoke, Cosmo looked down at his amulet, thinking about the mare who gave it him. "Lyth... This isn't the future I imagined... and by the Night I never thought I'd lose you..."
