It is no small task to manage and lead as many as she has. It is an even more remarkable feat to do so retaining her enthusiasm and love for this community. Leadership, empathy, compassion, a sense of humor about the world, creative, and damn fine with a needle. All of these are important traits to have to provide stewardship over a community as large as ours. Troblems new role as Administrator and David Bowie slayer actually heralds a change in Roleplay World and the Pony Roleplay project. Had you asked me this even a year ago, my answer would have been potato chips. Something happened with my tastes since then, because now I crave all kinds of tortilla chips whenever I want chips at all. They  simply taste better to me, but they're also more sturdy with a more satisfying crunch... that doesn't get caked up in your teeth like lots of potato chips do. And they're good for dipping. Yeah, I'll take tortilla chips any day, given a choice between the two.

It's not unlike a lot of other conventions aside from the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that it's dedicated just to ponies. Most of it is just bronies milling around the convention center, chatting and looking at stuff. The vendor hall/dealer's room is packed with people, because fan-made merchandise is a big thing. And then there are panels in which most people in attendance just sit there quietly until Q & A sessions happen. Bronypalooza aside, it's actually pretty chill despite its enormity.

I've been the past three years and I've watched it grow, but never does it feel overwhelming to me. You'll not want to plan much. Just go, have a look at the schedule they give you, and go to stuff that interests you. You won't be able to do everything that interests you though, no getting around that. There's just too much. But I think you'll find the overall experience pretty enjoyable and laid-back. Conventions are more for soaking up the atmosphere than doing things anyway, and it's a pretty uplifting atmosphere in my experience. Once the convention ends and most of the bronies and pony-themed stuff is gone, it becomes pretty apparent just how much they brighten up the place.

I've been to a handful of forums. This was the first one that really grabbed me and made me feel truly at home thanks both to the community and the show upon which it was founded. Can't imagine where my life would be without it thanks to some of the friends I've made here. I'd say at the time that I joined and for a substantial amount of time afterwards, it was the best forum of which I've been a part, although it's been supplanted by another forum in recent times.

I pretty much live on Skype though so most of those convos have transitioned over there.

Younger, most of the time. Frequently mistaken for being about 16 when I've got a fresh haircut and I shave like I should. If I let myself go, I can be mistaken for being much older than I am. Right now I look my age.

I've been quite a fan of the Forgotten Realms D&D campaign setting for many years, and my favorite book series is the Legend of Drizzt. It's a series that follows the life and times of a particular drow elf from his childhood until present day, when he's over a century old. Quite a time lapse there for a book series that's been going for 26 years. If I recall correctly, when he reached the surface world after abandoning his evil society, he was only about 70 years old. "Only." Of course, from a human perspective he was practically geriatric, but compared to the longevity of his own species in which most people live to be in excess of 500 years old, he was practically a child. Largely a matter of perspective here.

I see Spike in a similar way. Look at how young Twilight was when Spike was hatched. She was just entering school. She barely has a lead on him. Spike, being a dragon, will probably outlive Twilight by centuries, and hasn't physically matured yet. On the other hand, he's had almost as much time in the world as she, carrying virtually the same experiences having spent his life thus far by her side. We're even shown in the pilot episode that Spike somehow is a bit more wise than Twilight, given that he's her faithful and obviously very competent assistant, while also having a greater grasp on the significance of friendship with a better understanding of its nuances. Sure, Spike is physically a "baby" or a "child" by dragon standards, but he's as much an adult as any of the Mane 6 (or more so) as far as his faculties are concerned, and should be treated as such.

Spike is frequently left behind by his friends and has little significance in most of the Mane 6's escapades. Replacing him with Chrysalis or some shapeshifting baddie is likely to go unnoticed until it's too late to prevent whatever the doppelganger has been working on throughout the season. I wouldn't want this to happen though. I'd be miffed if Spike had been in captivity all that time.  :okiedokielokie:

I'm stricken by this thought on a daily basis. After being a brony for four years (as of tomorrow), neither the novelty nor the absurdity have worn off. This is a good thing, I might add. Nearly all of my leisure time and money spent on luxury items and travel have been related to ponies in that time span as well. No regrets, but every day I can't help but think how absurd this is.

In case you haven't noticed (and you probably haven't because I only made it visible a moment ago), there is a new subforum beneath the Equestria.tv forum called “The Lobby.” What is the The Lobby, you ask?

Only staff members are able to post threads in the top-level Equestria.tv forum, as it has always been. This has been necessary because that's where we post our weekly announcement threads for our Friday movie nights, it's where the Friday movie night request thread resides, and where we post miscellaneous announcements regarding changes to EQTV staff and operations. If we allowed everyone to start a thread in there, things would become a disorganized mess, making it difficult to locate anything unless we were to pin everything of any significance. However, EQTV itself has grown along with our community. We need moar. You need moar!

Inspired by a couple of threads recently posted in peripherally related areas of the site, we thought it would be really nifty (and honestly necessary) to add a place for the Equestria.tv community to interact with the EQTV staff and one another regarding technical problems, suggestions for site development, and discussion of unofficial EQTV events. What are "unofficial” events, you don't ask? Well, I'm going to tell you what I mean anyway. 

A nifty feature of Equestria.tv of which most people don't avail themselves is the ability to create their own channels. When you create a new channel, you can register it so it becomes permanently attached to your account. You are the administrator of your own channel, able to mute, kick, and ban attendees, as well as create custom chat filters, emoticons, and build a playlist. One can build a playlist with videos from Youtube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion; tracks from Soundcloud, as well as embedding broadcasts from live streaming services such as Livestream, UStream, Twitch, and Hitbox. We've seen some of you making use of this feature, but not many of you and not to its fullest potential. Now all of you are aware of it, and now you may also head to The Lobby and post a thread advertising the channels you create (be sure to add the Channel prefix when creating your thread for easier recognition)! You will find a thread pinned in The Lobby with a few basic guidelines; please read it before doing anything else.

Questions about Equestria.tv features can be posed here. Answers will be forthcoming from the staff and from other Equestria.tv members. Should the staff answer your question or find that another member already has, they will lock your thread to prevent it from straying from its original topic and becoming a generic chatterbox. Before posting a new thread for whatever question you might have, please either run a search of this section or scan through it to see if it has already been answered before. If not, or if something has changed since the last time it was brought up, feel free to make a new thread.

Let us know about bugs in this thread. Equestria.tv doesn't break often, but it's certainly something we should know about when it happens. You can also use this thread to suggest minor changes to existing features, such as what ooBrony mentioned in the second post about coloring issues on the hovercard. If there's a major change you'd like to see, such as adding an entirely new feature or restructuring the site in some fashion, then please make a new thread. The reason for this is that tiny changes (such as a illegible colors) is often a "quick fix" requiring little more than changing a few numbers in one line of code, whereas the biggies I mentioned could require a substantial investment of development time and protracted discussion with you to hammer out all of the details.

Should Equestria.tv become inaccessible or appear to be offline, please make a thread in Site Questions & Tech Support instead, as this could be the result of a severe problem with the server impacting more than Equestria.tv alone, and it'll receive more prompt attention.

Lastly, you may post threads here to advertise channels of your own creation on EQTV. Please bear in mind the following guidelines when creating a channel and when posting a thread for it:

• There are rules
• Use the Channel prefix when creating a channel thread
• Only one thread per channel
• All announcements regarding events you plan to host in an existing channel should go within that channel's existing thread, if you or the owner have already made one
• Remember that although you are by default the administrator of any channel you create, @Apple Bloom, @sby, @Yozer247, @TanktheTortoise, and @Artemis are site administrators, and may alter as they see fit or delete your channel should they find you violating any of the aforementioned rules, and reserve the right to ban any member or guest in violation thereof. Also know that they can view and access any of your channels even if you mark it as not publicly visible or if you set a password.

No to the first half of OP's question, but as for the second part, I'm one of the elusive fans of Mysterious Mare Do Well. That's right, I enjoyed that episode, and I've liked all of them that Merriwether Williams has written. 

What Jeric said, but I think her main reason was because it was a high society event, and she could swallow her pride long enough to be a guest of honor there.

My first exposure to them was rather positive. A member of another forum I was on at the time (2011) made a thread asking people to check out the show. He was nice and sensible about it, causing me no misgivings. Most bronies I've met have left as good an impression he did, except for some of the younger ones in the throws of teenage angst and a few who seem like they're only around to cause trouble (trolls, more or less). Aside from those, which you'll encounter anywhere, my initial impressions and early interactions with the fandom were enjoyable.

Support ticket received and I'm handling this now.
