  1. I currently follow Tara Strong (who doesn't anyway :P), Andrea Libman and Michelle Creber. Your observations about their tweeting habits are pretty much spot on. Andrea tends to post sparingly while Tara likes posting links to pictures of her many cartoon personalities, along with witty captions. Michelle on the other hand, posts irregularly, but when she does, the amount of tweets literally floods my twitter feed. laugh.png

The only other MLP-related people I follow are (like you), Meghan McCarthy, Amy Keating Rogers and Daniel Ingram. I find it useful to monitor their tweets and retweets because they tend to drop hints to upcoming releases every now and then smile.png

  2. I would highly encourage trying out new styles every once in awhile. It's good to break away and go outside comfort zones every once in awhile.

Update: I've colored and shaded the sketches. I tried to mix in blurred shading for rounded edges and hard shading for sharp shadows. I still really need to work on shading, but I'll get it with enough practice.

DAT FUR. I'm loving this new style, the eyes are great and for some reason they look more 3D like this. smile.png  Keep making your great art, Drahgs! happy.png

  3. This topic appears to be a literary work that is not fan-fiction, and will therefore be moved to Other Fan Works. The Fan Art board is for showing off and getting critique on artworks that you, the topic-starter, have created.

  4. This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

  5. Ooh, very nice. :3 I think this is the first time, to my knowledge, that I've seen his OC vectored. The legs and anatomy are a bit off though. Such as the joint in his backleg looks very sharp, too sharp. Also, his hooves don't look sturdy. Straighter lines rather than curves would solve that. Oh and the cutie mark kinda looks fuzzy in comparison to the rest of the picture. I'm presuming it's not a vector and that you copypasted it from my original drawing. I'd advise vectoring all parts of a piece if that's the case for better consistency.

Yeah on second glance the backleg joint was really really sharp, I've rounded it off a bit. I must admit I was a bit stumped by his legs for this particular drawing, I wasn't really sure how to stretch them to Alicorn length without making them look too curved =/

And haha you got me, I did copypasta the CM from your drawing because I was trying to save some time (but mostly because I was too lazy to draw it again :P)

However, I like the wings, and the kind of chibi style is adorable. Also, buttons are awesome and so is his computer. :3

Chibi? But that's how I've been drawing poni! All the while D: That computer and the buttons were an afterthought, really :)

That's because I'm not good at drawing facial expressions, okay? ;~; So I just picked an angry one and slapzed it on like that. We can just say in my headcanon that Feld0 is angry about his indecision about which button to press in your picture.

It's alright I suck at facial expressions too *hug*. That headcanon sounds good though :D Though it'd be even funnier to just say that Feld0 is in a perpetually angry state :P

Seriously though, I find it pretty awesome I'm talking with the original artist of the reference picture I used happy.png Though I did find a version where he was a normal unicorn, and on some obscure Russian forum no less O_O"

Holy shit your style is cute :| Never have I wanted to hug Feld0 until he explodes, so much. He's so confident and got that 'Mai Empire shall spread across teh internetz :D' look in his eyes.

But yeah. Very good job :3 9/10

:3 I have never received such high compliment before

Seriously though, very cute and well drawn vector.  I guess if there's any critiques I can think of, upon closer inspection, the horn looks just a little bit curved on the borders, but maybe that's what you were going for, IDK.  Great job all around akita!!! biggrin.png

Upon closer inspection of all my works you can see all the mistakes start to appear (because I'm a lazy filly who doesn't check his work) :D That's why I downsize them to like 40% the original size so you guys can't see them tongue.png

  6. I have not posted anything in the longest of times due to my job leaving me almost absolutely no time during the week img-1278241-1-sad.png

But this weekend I finally decided to do something, after being inspired in a certain Skype chat img-1278241-2-laugh.png

I know I've been saying a lot recently that I've been wanting to do more raster art practice (my past few art threads were all raster done in SAI), but let's face it, raster takes wayyyy longer to finish than vector (at least for me!), and when I'm so super pressed for time nowadays, I needed something I could finish in under 24 hours so that I wouldn't end up using the whole weekend for it. So vector, it was. Hey, at least now I have an infinitely scalable Feld0 img-1278241-3-biggrin.png

Seriously though, I don't know why he looks pissed in most of the reference pictures I gathered from the web, but it makes for a lot of hilarious scenes. Just replace the computer screen thingy with a cowering pony and you'll get what I mean img-1278241-4-wink.png (This wasn't actually my original idea, but I realized I wouldn't have enough time to do what I wanted to do in one weekend, so I decided to work on it over a few weekends and push this one out first img-1278241-5-blush.png )

Now if you'll excuse me I think I'll run off to hide before Feld0 comes to kill me img-1278241-6-unsure.png

  7. I seriously don't get why there aren't any replies to this yet >_<

It's always great to see new work from you Drahgoon, you have a very unique style that instantly identifiable. Not to mention, it makes them look 20% cuter the way you draw their snouts. I've only ever encountered one other artist on dA that has a similar style to yours, and needless to say, I enjoy your style as much as I do his :)

p.s. I haven't been very active lately too since I've been so busy and stuff, but I think I might post something soon ;)

  13. I'm going to go off on a tangent here and recommend Illustrator, because that's what I use :P

If you are used to Photoshop, learning how to use Illustrator should be easy because there are many similar tools you can use. Also, the pencil tool in Illustrator is very smart, and extremely customizable. Once you get used to it and learn how to use it properly, you can make the most minute of adjustments without ever having to erase a line again :)

Of course, Inkscape is not a bad alternative if you're looking for freestuff. But I must admit, I have not heard of Ponyscape up until now, and now that you've mentioned it, I'm very curious about it.... will probably find some time during the weekend to give it a try
