I think 4chan has had too many new boards added in the past couple of years.

By the way: Why's it called "4chan?"

It's modelled after the original Japanese site 2chan. It was a futaba channel, "chan" is a shortened version of "channel." The creator of 4chan, Moot, just multiplied the Japanese name by 2 and got 4chan.
