Hi there! And welcome to the forums! I'm sure you'll have a great time here and meet a lot of new friends. To answer your question, these "badge thingies" are which group you belong in as much as I know. The more posts you start/reply to, the higher your rank will be. If I remember correctly, you get a new one when you replied to enough posts. and since you're a blank flank at the moment, I think the next one is when you get to 5 posts. Hope this helps.
