"Your not leaving me now tempest," not knowing what she was doing Amber ran back into the tower and into the center of the platform. She ascended to the platform above and walked to the virtual screen. "Its time to see what this does," Amber placed her hand on the screen and it lit up.

Rick shook his head, "if you go to the academy then you know a lot more than you're letting on." His eyebrows raised a little in surprise at her confession of being afraid of small spaces, but it dawned on him. "Right, that explains the elevator, I'm sorry..."

 

He almost left it at that but two thoughts came to him, one given the way this girl acted and dressed she might not be someone who appreciates being pitied and two if she didn't go back down there he would be stuck an grade ahead of everyone and that might suck. So he decided to take a risk and hoped she was the type that didn't back down from a challenge.

 

"... I would have never guessed. I mean you look tough enough to take me in a fight." He tried to act nonchalant as he dug out his one hitter, "and I mean you've already been down there once so you know you can get through it." He lit it and braced as he knew full well this chick might smack him hard at these next words, he let the smoke out as he spoke, "I would have thought you'd be tough enough to face being scared for a discovery like this, but I guess not."

The Scyphozoa barely noticed Dan on its head, it didn't feel the blows on its hard outer-shell and simply continued working on Tempest. The tower around Amber began to glow but then faltered; the light flickering. The computer simply did not have enough power to launch an RTTP sequence. With that, the lights went out in Lyoko and the Scyphozoa disappeared; dropping the two boys down on the dirt in the mountain path. It was almost pitch-black; save for the eerie glow given off by the Digital Sea.

 

In the real world, the pods and all monitors shut off; automatically putting itself into Sleep Mode in order to conserve power. Holly was also left in the dark.

Genesis growled and delivered a swift uppercut to his stomach; knocking all the smoke out of him. She had had her fill of socializing for the day and this kid had the balls to call her weak. She bent down as he gasped for air "Did you think that was tough enough mate? Watch it next time or your cute face might not save you." Genesis walked off back to the factory, never one to back down from a challenge. She felt a little bad punching him but it helped her relieve some pent up anger as well.

Amber didn't know what she did so she followed what she thought was the way back out. After exiting the tower she opened her hand and began to cast a spell without throwing it making a source of light. She ran over too the two boys she helped them up before hugging Tempest and quickly stepping back,"um... well we have what seems to be a major problem as I don't know if we can get out or not, however the monster is gone." She backed up a bit and twirled her hair with her free hand.

Tempest was definatly surprised by Amber's hug, and looked around. "Well, I guess school is out of the question." He said. The teen then felt a searing pain and raised his hand to his forhead. "So, I guess we don't have a way to talk to anyone in the real world?" Tempest didn't know why, but for some reason the pain in his head refused to subside. Seeing as how he wasn't even in his body, the teen wasn't even sure how this was possible.

Amber hadn't noticed tempests pain because she had turned around, "at any rate we can have no idea wether they can hear us or not, by the looks of it the power we't out but that should have turned of this plain of existence so I have no idea what to say. you have any ideas um, whatever your name is?"

Even knowing it was coming Rick took the gut shot full on. The air left his lungs in a rush and his knees buckled leaving him to collapse to the ground coughing. It wasn't the hardest gut shot he had ever taken but it was up there and the others he had at least braced himself for.

 

But as she stormed off toward the factory and he was doubled over on the ground he gave a pained coughing laugh and sputtered breathless, "all according to plan..." His right hand fumbled around for the one hitter he had dropped from the punch. He found it and stretched out taking deep breaths before forcing himself shakily to his feet. Looking after her he realized, "she thinks I'm cute?" He stumbled after her curious to see the results of his prodding and generally more curious about her than ever.

Tempest was slightly fazed by Amber's question, and tilted his head. "Don't you remember me?" He asked, slightly worried. "We came in here about a half hour ago together. My name is Tempest." The teen didn't know why, but the throbbing within his head was growing more and more constant.

Amber turned to tempest,"of course I remember you silly but I don't know that man over there, the one who tried to save you," she walked over to dan,"so what is your name anyway, I don't think I caught it if you said it." Amber turned back to tempest to notice his hand on his head,"are you ok tempest?"

Tempest mentally sighed in relief, and glanced at Amber. "I should be fine. It's only a small headache." He said, not wanting her to worry about him. The teen then noticed that his sword was still in the ground, and walked towards it. When he removed it from the ground, it's twin automatically formed in his other hand. Tempest then sheathed the weapons, and looked out into the endless darkness that Lyoko had become. "Let's hope that someone in the outside world can get the power back on, or we may be stuck in here." He thought.

"Well, I suppose the good luck had to run out sometime." Dan said as he heard Amber's question. "We met the last time we were in this place. I know I'm not that easy forget." He didn't really take offense to her forgetting about him, they only ever talked once. "I'll give you a hint, my name begins with a 'D' and ends with 'an'

AMber thought for a moment before turning back to Dan,"hmm, is your name Devan?" Amber then walked over to tempest,"well the power is clearly on, we are in a virtual world after all, if the power wen't out so would we. However I can see no way to effect this as that tower is turned off too and I don't think I can do anything about it."

Genesis stood by the elevator,arms crossed and sighed. She had called the elebator before hand and was now staring at its open doors. She took a step in, letting the doors close a little before sticking her arm out to prevent them from doing so. She was stuck between going and staying.

By the time Rick finally caught up with the tough chick she was sitting in the elevator arm in the door not letting it close. Also he had pretty much recovered from the gut punch but still rubbed it a bit tenderly. He walked up and leaned against the outside of it speaking in careful to stay out of striking range. "So does another person being in there with you make it worse or better? I'm fine standing guard and just making sure nobody else goes down if you don't want me along."

 

He was actually torn between wanting to join her and wanting to stay where he was; he didn't want particularly want to go down there tonight, especially after what happened before the reset but he was curious about the machine and besides this chick did have something about her...

"Stay outside." Genesis glared at him from inside, drawing her arm back in. She knew he was orchestrating all of this but there was no way she would or could back down. Besides, the more room she had, the less freaked out she would be. The cage doors shut and the old elevator creaked; beginning its descent.

Holly gasped when she saw the lights flicker out on the monitors. The clicking she did on the red dot only revealed a massive garble of static but the thing that made her hyperventilate was the noise coming through the headset. She screamed a bit and tore the headset off, throwing it to the ground. Luckily it didn't shatter but that didn't mean that Holly was still scared. She jumped out of the swivel chair and slowly made her way over to the elevator, resting against the wall near it and slid down. "Don't be scared ... it's just the dark ... you just heard some crazy noises from the headset ... there's no .." Holly trailed off as she rocked back and forth against the wall.

"Dang," Rick said at her rebuke and gave a heavy sigh that surprised him a bit; he wasn't supposed to care, he hadn't wanted to go down there, sitting here had been his plan to begin with. Still he scrambled away and watched it start to descend worrying about how she would handle the trip, she was pretty damn gutsy he had to give her that. He moved over to sit under the call button and prepared to settle in, he was going to sit here the whole party and nobody that hadn't already been down there was going to get past him.

Tempest nodded slightly as his vison went dark. He then fell backwards and onto the hard ground. His character model began to shift slightly, as if it had a glitch. "I don't know what that thing did to me, but it can't be good." He thought, before noticing the eye of Xana within his subconscious. "No."  Tempest's body began to emenate a dark energy as a pair of horns and a tail grew. The feathers on Tempest's wings also began to molt, revealing a more draconian pair of wings. The buckles on Tempest's coat also morphed into the eye of Xana. When Tempest's body floated back up, there was a dark, crazed smile as the only sign of emotion.

She bit the inside of her cheek, ignoring the descent a much as she could. Genesis keep her arms tightly crossed; rocking back and forth on her heels. As the dropped, the shaft darkened until she was in complete darkness. The doors opened when Genesis was at the point of meltdown and she quickly took a lucky guess, running out of the elevator and straight into the console; checking her gut.

 

SHe fell, holding her stomach and throwing expletives at karma. During her mini-rant, she heard sniffling not far from her "Ow...oi...is someone there?"

X.A.N.A wanted Amber gone, wiped out as soon as possible. Aelita had gotten away from him and this little girl threatened his plans yet again. He directed his hate into Tempest, telling him that Amber wanted him to die.

Holly's hair was in disarray and she had tears in her eyes. She stopped what she was doing when she eard someone run in and bang against the console. Who could blame them? It was pitch black!

 

".. is someone there?" The girl asked through pain. Gulping and getting up slowly, using the wall to lean against, the purple-haired girl got herself up and slowly walked in the voice's direction.

 

"What if I said no?" Meghan asked cautiously. She had no idea where she was or how much time had passed but she could still get a relatively bad joke in.

Amber was surprised at tempests sudden change in appearence. Feeling no other way she immediately went back to the tower and entered before tempest could do anything. She went to the second level and immediately to the virtual screen. She put her hand on it trying to reverse the thing she just did and communicate with the others in the real world.

Rush nodded, smiling. "Something casual, then. I'm not in the mood to do anything overly fancy anyway. Of course, I'm generally not, I suppose." As they continued walking, he tried to think of a place for them to go. Shortly after, he spoke again. "Anyway, I think I know a pretty good place. You don't mind standard pub fare, do you? It's good stuff, I promise."

"Wait, don't leave me out here with him!" Dan yelled out, but it was too late, Amber was already inside the tower. He then slowly turned towards the now very menacing Tempest. "H-hey there Tempest. I just want you to know, whatever is pissing you off, I didn't do it"

Tempest growled slightly, as he drew his swords, his smirk now contorted into a snarl. He then flew towards Dan, and slashed at him with his swords. "No, but you're part of it." He said, his voice highly distorted from what it normally was. Something was off, though. Tempest wasn't fighting with his full strength. It could've been a mistake, or maybe some rename not of the actual Tempest remained within his corrupted mind.

"Very...funny." Genesis groaned while heaving herself off the ground. After rummaging around for a few seconds she withdrew her cellphone and used its flashlight; lighting up Meghans face. "What happened down here? You were freaking out pretty bad, yeah?"

The screen flickered as it tried to turn on but it simply didn't have enough power. It flickered weakly; the reserve power keeping the ground underneath their feet.
