By the year 2050, video games will be elaborate hallucinatory experiences pumped directly into your brain.  Via a...  Link cable lol.  Everyone will of course have a little orifice built into their skull to receive one end of the cable, and - to avoid said orifice getting dusty / dirty - people will rely on one another to blow in it from time to time.  The "console" will be called Nintendo YOU; as you will essentially be the console.
