Give threads a custom picture

This is an interesting idea, but I honestly think this could get a bit cluttered and distracting, especially if people misused it by uploading rapidly flashing animated gifs, for example. Moderation could just remove stuff like that, but I'd rather the opportunity not be there in the first place unless the feature would be very useful for a lot of people.

Maybe not .GIFs (because that would look REALLY awful), but still PNG/JPG images? I could see the fandom threads using this, because there are so many. People could just see the pictures of the pony next to the thread and say: "Oh! Sunset Shimmer Club."

 

It would look like that on the forums. I don't think it would be clustered. And on the actual thread itself:

 

Instead of OP's pic, we could put the thread's custom picture instead. And maybe, the OP of the thread would be the only one allowed to change it. So OP could decide whether or not they actually want a picture on their threads.

The same rules that apply to a user's image would apply: the image can't be NSFW. So that means absolutely no gore or suggestive pictures.

I support this idea, it sounds fun and it would make the forums prettier. Also, if you're worried about someone breaking a NSFW rule, I honestly haven't seen ANY NSFW avatars during my time here. Yeah, a few suggestive ones, but no flat out NSFW.

I would like to see this, but maybe only in the Fan Club section. Since a little avatar showing the character the fan club is about would fit nicely, while for most other threads it would probably be useless/not needed and such.
