I'm in the process of trring to get my parents to watch the documentary. Edited July 8, 2014 by Lowcone494
floofcake 25 July 9, 2014 Share July 9, 2014 *sigh* The brony closet. I remember that dirty ol' stanky closet. I am in a similar closet atm... but like a gay one. My advice? Become comfortable with who you are. If your nervous about telling your folks, you obviously are not confident in your desires. Once you accomplish this, you won't have any problem telling your parents. That's how I approached my ponyness with my parents and that's how I plan to do so with my uh rainbowness... Good luck to you! Still agree with them. You are not going to much out of buying if you have to hide it... I'm in the process of trring to get my parents to watch the documentary. That's a good idea... I should force my folks to do that
Dr. Frasier Crane 319 July 12, 2014 Share July 12, 2014 Tbh I don't see hiding it much of a problem. If your parents come into your room they probably wouldn't even notice it anyway. Just put it in between a bunch of other figures and they would be none the wiser. But really you should consider just telling your parents. I don't think it will be as bad as you think it'll be. After all, as far as they're concerned it could always be worse, like you're on drugs or something. And it's just a show, not a lifestyle. You're the same person you always were and your parents shouldn't see a problem in that. +~ Liebe ist für alle da ~+ My Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/shikarilukari
Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,302 July 12, 2014 Share July 12, 2014 Buy the Fluttershy figure, and then hide it under a stack of porno mags. I'm sorry, just... Anytime I hear something like this, I feel as though pony merch is being treated like porn or drugs lol. Are your parents truly so close-minded or utterly lacking in empathy that they wouldn't understand it if you explained the appeal of MLP:FIM? Or at least the appeal of Fluttershy?? How sure are you that you'd be grounded longterm? Because, frankly, that'd be crap parenting and a huge overreaction. "Whaaaat!??! Our child likes a kindly talking pony who loves animals and respects the feelings of others!??!?! Why can't you just join a gang like normal children!??!" Is that genuinely how you think they'd react, or is being honest about who you are an intimidating prospect? You've done nothing wrong by liking MLP. Anyone that tells you different is wrong. Period. I recommend that you don't turn MLP into a "bad" thing that has to be hidden from the eyes of others. Guilt and shame are motivation for hiding things (tangible and otherwise), and you've no cause to feel either. "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. But that does not mean making things up. It is a form of seeing." - from "The Amber Spyglass"
FlitterFlutter 1,583 July 14, 2014 Share July 14, 2014 To be honest I don't see much point of getting merch if you just have to hide it. I mean what is the point of a plush if you are just going to shove it into the depths of your closet of something. Credit to Kiki
