"That'll be acceptable," Lady Florence firmly stated after a while in deep thought. It was a questionable thing to ally one's self to a dragon, but the goods are outweighing the bad. To enlist a dragon to their aid, which seems to be keen on killing the church's enemy, was a major boost. She turned to Architect Arthur for his reaction. All Lady Florence received was a small indifferent nod.

"Nothing more?" Captain Artemis repeated the words slowly as she looked around the cave, "I'll take your word for it." She finally conceded in her demands, but she didn't stop in defeat, instead, her questions were directed to other things. "However, that doesn't mean I'll be letting you free. Tell me anything interesting did you find in this cave."

Cassandra sighs, "Alright, it looks like we have a consensus. We'll help you if you accept those terms. Of course, if you don't we could just burn this building to the ground on top of you... I'm sure you would greatly appreciate that, wouldn't you ice dragon?" She asks, trying to further assert her Faith, and mostly succeeding.

 

Draco stepped to the side. "1 minute to reload," Draco said to himself as he walked towards the crossbow man. "As a dragon rider you have to respect and befriend your dragon but you treat them as pet's or beasts of burden," Draco said as he walked closer. "The dragon Ali has a new rider who respects her. Treats her like a person,"

"Freak," Draco said harshly. "You call me a freak how little you know," Draco said as he grabbed the crossbow and pointed it away from him pointing it towards a wall.

The crossbowman begins to cower a bit more, "L-look, you think we signed up for this for friends? We signed up for a decent meal and a chance to have power for once! Who in the hell is Ali? And why would I care?" He draws his blade and strikes at Draco, acting more on instinct than intent.

"What good is power when you have not the soul to defend the weak," Draco said as he looked at the man. His right bracer blocked the blow. "Tell me then, did this power give you two everything? Money, women, A title? But it left you empty did it not?" Draco asked.  He looked to Lilly. "Oh Lilly must you be so harsh? You were once apart of this order," he said as he chuckled "Now then sheath your weapons. And we will parley over a mug of ale and mutton," Draco said as he smirked. "Have you not even given your dragons names?"

He looked at the man in front of him. "Truly does it not burn you that the higher ups tend to keep secrets from you. Expecting you to die meaningless deaths. Now I have to ask you what do you know about Dracomancers?"

Ali snorts, sending out twin small jets of fire, "You're right about that... She and the strange man can fight for themselves, and we'll only step in if we're really needed.." 

"They are selfish." Asator adds before sighing.
"Oh well, you're all I need anyways. Say, why dont we just relax and talk for a while? I want to know you as well as I can."

But hey draw in your dragon's power see what happens," Draco said challenging the moron.

You can almost feel pain in your muscles don't you. The dragon's instincts will override your sense of self. Bringing you into a false sense of ultimate power," Draco sat. "I bet every nerve is screaming out in pain now. Your body can't handle the strain of the chaotic nature of the draconic power. You'll erupt into flames in 3.....2.....1," Draco said simply.

 

The man nods, "Alright freak, watch me." He calls out to his dragon mentally, converses with it, and begins to pull in its power to himself. A reddish white aura appears around him, signifying that the link has been completed, "What now freak?"

Lily sighs, "Alright, if you insist. I look forward to fighting you later."

"What do you think of the two down there? Lily and that other guy. You think they are secretly together....as in mates?" He asks, trying to think of something else to talk about.

"That was a slip of tongue," Captain Artemis grind her teeth, "and pertained nothing to this topic besides showing that you are very impolite." She then motioned for a nearby soldier to depart to retrieve the soldiers that were outside the cave system. At that, the circle got even more smaller.

(Short because no idea how to continue this mindless battering between two people.)

Glacies narrowed his eyes at Cassandra in anger. "You dare to believe I will stab you all once your backs are turned?" he growled at the thought before continuing, "I will not. Take it as an acceptance." 

 

Lady Florence only eyed distrust at Glacies, but she nodded her head slowly in approval of what Cassandra was doing.

The lack of communication from the fort that was destroyed by a surprise attack was slowly disturbing the already paranoid minds of the heads of each fort. To ease or increase their paranoia, a small scouting force was formed to scout out what could had happened to the sudden cut-off of communication.

"You do not represent the church. You represent some egomaniac who has no idea what compassion is. Instead you act like bullies, circling around me and trying to intimidate me. Authority? You are not such. You are just children with more swords and armament than the rest of the civilized world." Zefira smiled, doing a complete one-eighty of her mood. She drew her blade and held it to her throat.
"I will save you the trouble, and kill myself. I mean, it is what you want after all. For me to die....you havent exactly shown me any sort of compassion."

The man once again strikes at Draco, this time using every bit of energy in his body to break the Dracomancer's stance.

Draco shrugged as he kicked the man away from him. He sighed "Rotten treatment of a deities child," Draco said as he  felt his draconic magic replenished fully now. "Better," Draco said as he transformed quickly but his blood splattering the side of the cave. He looked at the man. "Problem?"

Ali lets out a snort of laughter, "Them? They look like they're about a moment from killing each other. If they're together, I don't want to see how they treat their enemies..."

"Yeah. I don't think they are even fit to fight. Dracomancers? More like kids with too much power. You know, they are like the dragon riders. My hammer here is made of mithril, the material that is a weakness to dragons and dracomancers. I found a deposit of the ore in a cave. I decided to make my hammer out of it since the stuff seemed sturdy enough. As soon as I step out of the cave, these people start storming me...had to fight my way out. Both factions were fighting me and each other over this hammer. Both couldnt handle power...disgusting...the whole lot of them."

Draco sliced the man's arm off. He started to walk away. "Blood for blood," he said simply as he looked to the sky. "You know I can her you two. Two people lcuky to have this power eh?" Draco asked as he knew the dragon could hear him. "Truly what do you know of me or her? What is it do you truly know about Dracomancers? ignorance is what it is. Now then," Draco said as he looked to Lilly. "Bring that female rider along. Blind fold her along with her Wyvern of a dragon,"

"That was standard procedure," one of the soldiers had decided to speak up. "One must always approach an unknown entity with caution to avoid any unnecessary consequences. Unless you are naive to think the best is to open one's arms and greet everything with friendliness." If anything, the soldiers, by every second, is getting far more disgusted at the insults thrown at their country. Childrens? The advances Praeses had made with the educational level far exceeds anything the barbaric folks that aren't in the folds of Praeses are capable of. 

 

The cave soon filled with noise as five soldiers and three new individuals rushed to meet Captain Artemis. They bare news of important development from Doritha.

Glacies scoffed at that, as if it was an impossible thought that he'll betray the ones who aided him in his quest.

 

Architect Arthur decided to speak, to aid Cassandra a little, "It is an accurate thought that we all share. After all, some folks are untrustworthy and must be viewed with distrust until proven right." He then bowed to Glacies to show respect and to confirm that he was not mocking him and treating him lowly.

The next few forts were better off in their attention and alertness. Deploying more soldiers to the walls instead of the barracks to aid in the defenses in order to ease the paranoia of each head. It was, without any doubt, the next few were going to be more heavier guarded than previously known to  be.

One of the soldier glared through his helmet as he drew his blade "Take back what you have said wench or I will run you through with my blade," he said as his voice was full of rage. He glared at the insolent witch to which she should be married off to some old man and used as a child baring machine for the glory of the church.

"Stand down soldier," Captain Artemis suddenly shouted, bearing her anger directly at the soldier's outburst, "you will be reprimanded." 

 

Then her anger let way as the rest of her squad rushed in with three newcomers. Words were exchanged of things in Doritha that required her attention. Deciding on the situation at hand, Captain Artemis finally spoke after listening to the newcomers and their hasty news, "Bring her along. There are more things we need to find out."

"You may healer," Lady Florence calmly replied as she stared at Glacies with curious emotions. Besides that, there was a tingling sense of excitement running its course in her veins and her emotions. This will certainly be the most interesting development in a long time for Praeses. Irony, of course, was not lost to Lady Florence. To have a dragon, a beast which Praeses views with disdain, help was most out of the norm.

The other forts had not know of the second victim's demise. Instead, they were more careful of their own part of land and awaited for the news the scouting party will hopefully return. Unless, that is of course, the scouting party suffered a terrible fate as the first silenced fort.

The soldier looked to the captain "With no respect at all screw you captain. we were ordered to capture her. But all you have done is converse with her like she is some civilized person," he said as he charged to the dragon rider sword drawn ready to cut her down. He was trained in the ways to combat dragon riders and the like.

Ali nods, "Alright, shall we go then? Hopefully we can find someone who will truly join our cause, rather than these two." She begins to fly away

"Yeah, lets go so that we may find others who care for those around them and not their own selfish desires." Asator said as he adjusted himself on Ali's back.
