Marciblook 612 July 7, 2014 Share July 7, 2014 Well, let me tell you what most, if not all bigger cons are like, I'm not sure how big BUCK is, but... First, spend about an hour trying to find a place to park (or if you take a bus, or taxi, or have someone drop you off) wait in line to get your ticket for an hour or two, go inside, wait for your first panel to start, or browse whatever they might have around (like an exhibit hall) bump into a LOT of people. And when it's all done, go home and sleep for three days straight 1 Things are changing
Ezio Auditore 702 July 7, 2014 Share July 7, 2014 Most conventions have exhibition halls in which people sell/promote things at their booths. There's usually panels with voice actors/animators/etc. It probably doesn't sound much fun, but it really is
Lightning-flickr 214 July 7, 2014 Share July 7, 2014 Just general con advice. Walk around for a bit to see what there is out there or else you'll spend all your money on one big thing and not have any money for anything else. Just a little advice so you don't fall into the trap I've fallen into many times ^^; 3 http://mlpforums.com...g-flicker-r5675 http://mlpforums.com/user/14906-royal-samurott/

Felix 1,363 July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 (edited) Conventions (specifically ones for fandoms like Comicon, BronyCon, and Leakycon) are big places where you have the opportunity to spend up to around 1 to 3 days dressing up as your favorite character or even your own character, meeting famous people from movies, cartoons, youtube channels, etc, panels that relate to certain things and talk about them such as artworks, popular fanmade material, how to's, informative stuff, things like that. There's also the merchandise of course. So yeah. It's pretty fun. If it's your first convention it might be confusing and a bit of a rush at first but after one or two of them you get the concept and work out how to go about one. M'aiq the Liar 5,804 July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 The operate like paid social gatherings. They normally contain a main area for event panels (where writers, animators, and fan famous people do Q&A, talk to some fans, and just talk in general about whatever media they are at the convention for) vendor halls (where people sell all sorts of fan man merchandise, from art work to plushies to DVDs) and normally one or two smaller panel areas for fan panels like forums, websites, and smaller fan animations and studios that they may not have time to fit into the larger general VA and writers panels. They normally operate around 1-3 days in length, with after parties and concerts being common around the later hours at the larger conventions. As for regards to parking, hotel stays, and the amount of people I would liken it to a large concert/sport event. Traffic is going to take forever unless you arrive 2 days in advance, you will be near large groups of people quite often, but as long as you spend frugally, and are there for media you enjoy you will have a great time. 1 http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <
Frith is Magick 1,471 July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 A few things I have learned: -Registration lines get crazy, sleep well the night before and arrive early. -Set a budget, bring cash, only cash. There are always ATMs, and always more things to buy. -Stay for the full thing. In my (admittedly limited) experience, there is usually some sort of party that goes absurdly late, and despite all the reasons not to, I found going ended up being worth it. -If you have a job, book those days off, as well as the day after. You will sleep. Cons are fun, and while really enjoying them may leave you feeling dead tired, it's totally worth it. 1 Keep flyin'
