Lighting Bliss & Nights Hoopla OC Animation Project!

In a nutshell, this is the animation project I am attempting!

 

Storyboard

 

 

The storyboard gives a rough idea of what my aim is. It tells the story of Nights Hoopla, who had a toy he was playing with that was smashed by other stallion ponies, making him feel ignored and hated. His wife Lightning Bliss, sees him in tears, and reminds him how important he is to her.

 

Some of the timing is too fast which I will attempt to slow down during finalization. Right now im in the process of dealing with big animation sequences, like that walk cycle, flying, lipsyncs etc etc.

 

Odds are I will NOT, add color into this animation and merely do a black and white version of it. But if I get enough support on this I might consider going full color.

(as a reviewer) the only thing I was kinda skeptical about was Hoopla feeling ignored. If someone is being bullied, then they usually don't feel ignored (speaking both as a victim of bullying and trying to use some logic  ). They will usually want to be ignored so that they won't be bullied  .

On the other hand, being bullied myself...

 

I wanted others to notice, particularly my teachers, parents, a counselor or the authorities. I even went to all of them asking for help. My father thought about writing a note, but the school staff didn't care, to which he said "Suck it up buttercup". Authorities didn't believe me because my sister who also went to the same school with me, was a Bully herself. (Only because she was bullied on and she chose to fight back, gaining reputation of being a bully). And the conselors said "We could suspend him a few days, but he'll just come right back to school... You're gonna have to deal with it."

 

I wanted someone to care.

 

But anyways to answer your question, I've not been able to tackle this massive project due to I don't have a team to assist me in the animation and clean up portions. It was a nice idea.

 

My husband is a Trekkie, and I wouldn't call that "toy" an actual "toy", its more of a figure.

 

My husband.... was bullied much more then myself. He was picked on for his looks, for how he spoke, that he spoke better english then his peers, for his hobbies in card games and scifi nolstalgia. He was threatened, he had been attacked before... It got to a point where he was so scared of going to school he stopped going. His parents had to get him professional help to cope with his fears for quite some time before he finally was able to go back.

 

In this project I wanted to express that fear of his in that vid, through scenes of other 'stallion' ponies picking on him for who he was, destroying his love of scifi hobbies (like his ship), and left him there feeling alone and abused. But in comes LB... she knows what its like to be bullied...and she can't fanthom why anyone would do this to such an amazing creature. Just like I couldn't fathom anyone doing this to my husband back in the day. He's an amazing man, who gave me new motivation in my life. I can draw again, enjoy life, food, colors...senses all over again because of him.

 

Why would anyone want to bully someone who's become my real guardian angel?

Thank you for that, this has certainly shed some light on the matter  . I know now that ones experience of bullying can be different. Mine for example, I did not want any help as I was afraid it would get me into more trouble, I did not want to be noticed and tried to stay as hidden as well as I could . I got really angry if someone tried to care as I interpreted it as false care  . 

 

About the toy, I was thinking, since this happens in the MLP universe (right?) that he might be young, but with the explanation, I know more . 

 

I am sorry for what you and your husband had to go through, I hope things have gotten a lot better and will continue getting better .

Well I for one was bullied also but it turned out, they stopped bullying me for odd reasons??.

But soon I found out that they fear me???.

What just happened?.

I just fought back that's all.

Literally and physically.

I'm sorry for your sufferings, but God has given you a guardian and for you to love someone.

That's a great gift isn't it?
