A Starswirl the Bearded Episode? (Including spoilers for a possible episode)

Hi everypony! 1-2 days ago, when I was reading Q&As, I found this:

"Will Starswirl Appear in season 5?

He's always there... watching... waiting... Just for the right moment."

So to me this proves the inevitable: A Starswirl the Bearded episode. Most of us always knew that there will be an episode about the most powerfull unicorn of all the time.

But the problem is we don't know anything else. What kind of episode will it be? I'm pretty sure that it will be a season final, but why is he gonna come to Equestria, and how? By finding a way to defeat the death? Or by using that power inside Twilight? (The power that we saw in Cutie Mark Chronicles and when she uses the elements of harmony. When her eyes become white.) And is he gonna be there to solve a problem that even Twilight can't overcome? Or to help beating a villain? He may even be the villain itself! And before seeing the true Starswirl the Bearded, I really would like to see Queen Chrysalis fooling the Mane 6 by disguising as Starswirl.

So what do you think ponies?

If you don't remember, twilight is stronger than starswirl. It's been stated in the show. I honestly think the only way he'd fit in would be as a villain who probably manages to completely take over equestria to show how powerful his magic is, beating celestia and luna and taking the throne.

I really don't remember when they said Twilight is stronger than Starswirl, sorry :/ Eventually, Starswirl has wrote more than 200 spells and Twilight did only one.

Twilight managed to fix Starswirl's spell because she knew the power of friendship, unlike Starswirl (according to Celestia in Magical Mystery Cure). However, that doesn't mean Twilight is stronger than him: even if he has never understood the power of friendship, he still could be a very powerful unicorn, stronger than Twilight. If Journal of 2 sisters give some hints that he went missing after traveling in time. He saw cutie mark from the tree in his travel which mean that he should meet Twilight in one future episode as he travel in time. They aso hinted that he also change his appearance when traveling and he might appear young (possibly StarLight shipping xD)

 

They also mentioned at comicon that they may use some plots from the comic. Since Starswirl appeared in Reflection arc, they might bring that Starswirl along with Somblestia canon story.

It would be good to hear his story finally. He is the Gandalf of pony and there's been a lot of talk about him. Feels like a missed opportunity not to flesh out the tale. We know he spoke to Scorpan about Tirek. I'm hoping in the next Tirek episode we meet Scorpan and they bring up Starswirl.

The could have the episode trend toward comedy. Twilight could be all excited to meet her life long hero, just to find out that Starswirl is an egotistical jerk. As Martha Jones said to the Doctor. "You should never meet your heroes."

....am I the only one here who doesn't really care about Starswirl? I mean, an origins story (focused in the past with Celestia, Starswirl, Luna etc) that links to current events could be cool. But just throwing him into a new episode just cuz seems uninspiring

I never took that as them confirming that there would be an episode based on Star Swirl. It would be interesting, but I think we're FAR from ever seeing that.
