Is Equestria really Post-Apocalyptic Earth? [PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION!]

Are you honestly implying that if a world ending cataclysm happened, today's generation of internet dwelling kids would not regress at all? But instead after this end of the world technology would continue to advance, despite most if it not all of its innovators being dead? Because I don't think anyone has that sort of faith in the modern man, let alone his children.

So if EqG is in the past, and Equestria is in the future... Twilight wen't through the mirror/ portal... to the past? To find all the same *people* that exist in Equestria where she came from? The exact same people, just humans? Are you honestly implying that?!

The magic could possibly be technology in disguise and the ponies themselves genetically engineered transhumans.

Well they aren't the exact same people, the CMC are far closer in age to their older sisters as compared to FiM, along with certain people not existing in EqG (Discord, zecora, Gilda). Trixie, despite being from an entirely different town in FiM is now also living in close proximity to the mane 6. With all the continuity errors EqG has with FiM in regards to characters ages, were they live, and their "talents", you could almost say that they are nearly different people entirely.

 

And if the ponies are just mutated humans then outside some new pony genes, alot of the genetic material is going to be the same. Meaning they would have a set amount of genetic material. So eventually, due to a small amount of material, they are going to have repeats. And depending on what sort of Apocalypse occured, you could infact just have the same "souls" of the previous humans reborn again in the pony bodies. It all depends on what sort of cataclysm ended their world.

There's also another very feasible explanation for all of this.......Hasbro/writers made the FIM & EqG this way cuz they felt like it. So I guess if you see them as "Gods of MLP", then you could just say that god done did it

Wait, why would you create a thread about a fan theory and then post at the top that people who don't like it/want to express counter-points should leave? This is a public forum you know, and while this isn't in the debate section or anything that really rubbed me the wrong way. If your theory can't hold up to criticism then it's not a very good theory, is it? As long as people are being respectful it shouldn't be a problem.

 

That being said, I actually never noticed the tire thing from Hearts and Hooves Day, so though initially I wanted to come in and say "not everything has to be Adventure Time" now I'm actually thinking about how this could work. What would interest me most where geographically the world of MLP (specifically Equestria) sits on "Earth". Are they new continents formed from volcanic activity, the existing ones we know, or the existing ones broken up further?

 

It's an interesting theory and fun to think about, but as to whether the writers are actively writing it that way? I highly doubt it.

Considering the earth and moon need to be turned, it's possible that due to some cosmic event, the earth stopped turning. The effect was slow enough to the point where everything wouldn't be tossed into space, but everything on earth was exposed to radiation. A lot of creatures, humanity included, died. Over time,however, beings evolved to become immune to that radiation, and eventually, they learned to control it, with particularly powerful beings being capable of controlling the sun, the source of that energy. Other beings used that energy for lesser things, like manipulating the clouds or growing food from a once dead planet. Over time, they turned Earth back into a paradise, and all was forgotten.

I feel like that in order to make any sense here, I have to type my entire theory. Okay, here it goes:

 

At some point, before the events of the "Founding of Equestria" flashback in Hearth's Warming Eve, and after the events of My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, and it's sequel, Rainbow Rocks, a brutal event occured that triggered WWIII. The nations of the world fought fiercely until humanity went extinct. But the United States was developing bio-weapons called "Celestia and Luna", and they couldn't find out what key ingredient they needed in order to complete them, so the project was scrapped. But the ingredient they needed in order to complete them was nuclear radiation, so shortly after the bombs were dropped, the radiation brought Celestia and Luna to life and they escaped their cryogenic slumber. They then quested out of the ruins of the army base and city they were residing at, and found a stable that had non-sentient horses in it, so they shared part of their modified DNA and intelligence with them and created unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies. Soon thereafter, however, the 3 races got into a conflict that made them hate each other. But a nuclear winter was soon triggered, and they settled their differences in order to save themselves from the snowy wrath. After that, Celestia and Luna found out about Tirek's evil plight to conquer Equestria, and they sent Starswirl the Bearded to banish him to Tartaraus. Then, Discord came into power. Celestia and Luna then used the Elements of Harmony to defeat him. Hundreds of years after that happened, Princess Luna became Nightmare Moon. Celestia and Luna battled, resulting in Celestia becoming injured. She then used the Elements of Harmony to banish Nightmare Moon into the moon. After that, I'm not sure what else happened, other than Nightmare Moon eventually escaping during a fateful Summer Sun celebration that kicked off the series. It's just that I already have an extremely low self esteem, and I just don't want it to get lowered any more.

 

If you don't want people to give their opinion (whether positive OR negative) on your fan-theory then I wouldn't post it on a public forum. We're all generally nice here, but essentially saying "you're only welcome in this thread if you agree with me" is just going to rub people the wrong way; you have to be open to criticism. If someone pokes a hole in your theory then that just gives you a chance to improve it by thinking about it more critically.

no humans present(they were present in g1 so I am digging deep for this) some of the creatures are similar to typical radioactive mutants, human artifacts(spike and granny smith have ww2 American army helmets{each helmet is seen in only one episode}, maud briefly wore a ww1 Russian army helmet in her first episode rarity in the episode "dragonshy" briefly wore a Vietnam era American army helmet) rainbow dash named her turtle TANK! and in the same episode said and I quote "I want a pet that's fast as a BULLET to catch up with me" the episode "secret of my excess" when spike-zilla is stomping aound town there is briefly a nuclear air raid siren 

2:17 in this clip is the siren... you think that's a tornado siren? PEGASI CONTROL THE FREAKING WEATHER THE ODDS OF A TORNADO CAUSING DAMAGE TO PONYVILLE IS PRECISELY ZERO... seriously that is the same sound used before air raids or nuclear attacks so the humans obviously left a few around. so the ponies obviously know a lot of our weapons and machines of war also they know of cannons(pinkie's party cannon{load a cannonball into that thing and boom its actual artillery}) many of their cities have names awfully similar to our cities plus humans are warlike the odds of us blowing ourselves to kingdom come are FAR greater than the odds of a stray asteroid hitting earth or a doomsday solar flare...
