Echh. Ultimately, it's just being a dick and it's often the cause of problems. I'm pretty sure there isn't a need to have some sort of psychological evaluation to tell us that when someone targets someone and harasses them "just to get emotion out of them" that they're being an asshole to people.

I view it as a form of cowardice, to be blunt. It's weak and the people who do it are just using the safe area of behind their computer monitors to be abusive to others, probably because they got their asses kicked in school or because they have no real power or control in real life. They're sad human beings, but ones that I often pity, just for how pathetic they truly are. I also find these people to be the biggest liars as well. Oh, you were a total badass in the army or something like that, etc.? No, you're just a sad, pathetic coward who harasses people online because you're just a worthless, depraved, and weak person in real life, and you and I both know that.

Now, of course, severity often plays a role in this. If people are clearly beginning to lose humor in it and become uncomfortable with it, then I think it's reasonable that you stop being a prick and move along. If people are playing along with it and finding it funny, or hell, if they did something to deserve it, keep on truckin', but really, people need to turn their brains on (if even possible) and realize that the internet isn't 4chan, and that they need to grow a spine and treat others with respect, and maybe someday even respect themselves, although some are just too weak and too useless to realize that others should be treated with respect until proven otherwise, man. They're probably just severely psychologically damaged or something, though.

Oh well. People suck, and you can't change that. Just gotta live with the little infidels, eh?

I don't agree. People should take things said over the Internet with a grain of salt, and trolls know this. I still stand firmly by my theory that cyberbullying doesn't really exist.

To me, that seems kind of like saying that real-life bullies aren't at fault because the victims should just man up and learn not to be offended.

Well no. Bullets and words are two very different things. One can hurt you regardless of how tough you are, and one can hurt you only if you allow it to. Sticks and stones, my friend.

There is certainly truth in that, as people do choose how they respond and react to the words of others, but that doesn't justify being rude.

And real-life bullying isn't only physical. It can be solely verbal and still traumatizing.

Fair point, but that's why we all just gotta learn to ignore and move on, or at the very least seek help. It's the only way we can put a stop to it.

True enough. Seems we agree on that much.  :muffins:

But o'course, the thread was about the trolls, not the victims.  :derp:

I pretty much only troll in games, and usually only people who provoke me in some way, usually by shit talking me.

Also, I'm a masochist.

I can see where they're coming from, but i also can see that teen boys like feeling rebel, as we all do at times. THy just can see a way of being rebel that has no consequences.

I mean, some can be sadist, but I really think a majority would be just little rebels.
