RainbowxWolf66 67 August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 Hello everyone i thought i would try to make a new topic that every pony here would be interested in discussing. I know its a little bit of educational. But its a wonderful topic for anyone who loves the ocean and loves animals. I am planning on starting a new degree hopefully in the near future when i have the money to go back into college, For now ive been doing research and finding some online open courses for marine biology. I am hoping to get my certificate. There are tons of courses online that allow you to get and earn certificates in marine biology science. So What does everyone think of our oceans and Marine Biology?
CheeryFox 23,821 August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 I like it but it's not on my side of science. But I do commend you. Should this interest you in the future, there are marine stewardship programs available in many countries. Best of luck on your certification. Keep us informed! 1 Sōten ni zase...Hyōrinmaru! Shift 4,272 August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 I did take a class in it once and dissected a lot of fish but it's not really my thing. Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.
SparklingSquirrels 21,341 August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 That's cool! I love the ocean and I like biology as well. It's not what I plan on going into as a job, but I like to learn about marine animals myself. Good luck with getting a certificate! 1 ֍֎֍֎

Lightning Bliss 1,674 August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 When I was in Elementry School, being a marine biologist was my first idea of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to learn more about the blue whale and the great white shark! I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt

DubWolf 17,263 August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 Marine biology is always an interesting subject, getting to learn about the creatures that live in the other two-thirds of our planet, even searching the far ends of the Earth and greater depths to explore for more aquatic species (or just study what we have in general lol). I can't say it's a major interest of mine, but I do find whales, sharks and marine animals fascinating . I used to collect a lot of marine-animal plushies, and still have a few left. 1 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls
Guest August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 I'm currently writing a dissertation which is a combination of marine biology and ancient history. I would love to have a career in the field, good luck on getting the certification by the way. Hope it works out for you
Inactive01 5,299 August 13, 2014 Share August 13, 2014 Marine biology? Sadly, I don't know too much about it, but my friend recently got herself involved with marine biology during her summer course stint in Michigan! She said it was a lot of fun! It's unfortunate that the university I attended for undergrad isn't near any large bodies of water, so a marine biology course was out of the question, even if our professor attempted to lobby for one! IceeBrony 251 August 13, 2014 Share August 13, 2014 I love science of all kinds. MIT has an OpenCoureWare program where they make many of their classes available freely online. Not accredited, but you can learn the info for free. I don't think they have any marine bio, but they are a great place for general sciences. Get those bio classes under your belt before you even start. What aspects of marine biology do you like? micro-organisms? aquatic mammals? deep sea creatures? maybe just cephalopods or echinoderms. We dissected a squid, a starfish, and a dogfish. Fluttershy Fan Club sig by Blue Snowfire

I used to always like to touch them at the aquarium when I was a kid. 1 Fluttershy Fan Club sig by Blue Snowfire
