Jonquil 20 August 25, 2014 Share August 25, 2014 On forums I tend not to use my wry sense of humor, but in chat I'll let loose. I find that people who share the same idea of what's funny can pick up on sarcasm and exaggeration easily.
LightningMana 146 August 25, 2014 Share August 25, 2014 I constantly get misinterpreted. As well as I mis-read and understand at times as well~ You can usually tell if I'm scathing in sarcasm if I say "not really" at the end of a message, or at times I'll blatantly make up a [/sarcasm] tag That and emotes are fine too~ I use them from time to time Avatar designed by my beloved VinylShadow~ ~~~COMMISSIONS OPEN~~~ http://mlpforums.com/topic/102640-lightning-mana-custom-pony-figure-commissions/
Inactive01 5,299 August 25, 2014 Author Share August 25, 2014 Emotes seem to be a really common trend here. Not surprising given that there's so many of them to express all sorts of emotions! But at the same time, emoticons can only go so far, like how body language can only tell so much as well! So I guess emoticons are a good sub for body language... to an extent
Banul 3,831 August 25, 2014 Share August 25, 2014 I feel like I can communicated pretty well online. I usually like to type a word in caps if I want to give it emphasis. Sarcasm can be harder, so I'll type something like "/sarcasm" to make sure its clear. Emoticons are good to show that you aren't taking something too seriously or to lighten the mood.
