25 Year Annual Congress of the Alicorns (OOC Link)

The palace, was a solid white marble spire that jutted out of the ocean from nowhere. Its base, or at least the portion above the ocean, was a huge eight point star that served as the docks. The size of the star was big enough to fit a small city onto it, but instead, it was the Prince Abyssal’s own palace. Around the spire, were smaller towers with connecting bridges, and balconies, which served as guest quarters, and other palace services.

The palace itself, was decadent. Gaudy to some, but certainly not drab. Tapestries of all colors and with images from griffons and pegasi fighting, to flowers in a field, hung in every hallway. Blue rugs were just about everywhere, and almost every door had some amount of gold worked into it. The windows were even stained glass, at least, those that didn’t let the light in at just the right way or gave a magnificent view of one of the palace gardens between the docks and the buildings.

Prince Abyssal, however, was standing in one of the gardens close to the dock where some of the first visitors would enter from. He could see a few ships on the horizon now, airships and sail ships. Some would teleport or use a portal, hopefully not in the garden, and in the area he had designated at the edge of the garden; it was a solid raised marble platform wide enough to support at least twelve ponies.

The prince was admiring a particular gold and marble statue of the fabled alicorn King Universus. The garden was perfectly green cut grass with many varieties of flowers and bushes, but very few trees. Statues were spread evenly throughout, and wide walkways snaked through.

While ponies bustled about, like an ant hive gone mad, a group of six stood off to the side behind the prince, careful to stay on the pathway. They were a mix of races, and exchanged silent whispers between one another. When they thought the prince was looking, they snapped back to him with smiles and words of praise. They all wore some form of regal attire.

“Your lordship,” A small bashful looking donkey barely old enough to be out of school, let alone be his ‘right hoof’ stepped up quietly to the prince’s side with his ears drawn down. He wore a saddle bag with various scrolls sticking out.

“I’ve discovered the guests’ tastes, and the servants are just finishing up with their rooms. The banquet hall is ready as well, some of your guest are already enjoying it.” The donkey reported in a quiet almost whisper.

“Wonderful!” The prince nearly shouted, “The servants can handle the decor from here, I see ships approaching. Be the first to greet them to the palace.” He ordered, and the donkey turned around and walked briskly to the docks.

A ship pulled up to the dock, the words -Final Decent- was etched into the sides. As the ship docked a metal ramp extended from the side and placed itself on the dock.

A door slid open and four skeletons walked out wearing black and sliver armor, the stepped onto the dock and stood in a line, all four skeletons spoke at the same time.

"We await greetings"

The donkey stepped towards the two skeletons, tilting his head for a moment until coming to a silent and unnoticeable conclusion. There were a lot of guests to remember, but he knew of them all and their charges. "Good afternoon, do you have your invitation and manifests?" He asked timidly. As he did, a dozen servants lined up in a row behind him, ready to start unloading and bringing the ships luggage to its appropriate places.

"Oh, sorry, I am page Fabula Loquitur. Please, just call me Loq" He said with a lazy smile. "I trust your lord had a good voyage?" Loq didn't really expect an answer in return, not from these gentleponies. The donkey held out his hoof to take whatever documents they might produce.

In the garden, the platform lit up for a moment, and a small group appeared out of thin air. It was a small retinue, surrounding a familiar Princess. Luna, in all her regal appearance, stepped forward, flanked on either side by a Night Watch pony in full guard uniform. Off to the side, a small group of nobles and importants, along with a few servants, stepped forward when Luna did. Among that group, a few more guards and elites walked with them.

Incognito walked behind Princess Luna, He looked down at his hooves, on one was his crossbow, and on the other his blade. He was told to only bring blunt bolts; Good for subduing threats, not so good for killing threats. He contracted his muscles in his right hoof a certain way and his blade came out of his gauntlets. "Good its working, a half a second late but it might just be worn gear." He whispered to himself before relaxing his hoof and the blade went back into his gauntlet. He looked back up and looked at Luna.

"I had a name... forgot it many, centuries ago. It faded away like many things, but me. I'm still here, still here trying to find something. What is that something? I don't know, I forgot." -The Nameless Knight

A relatively small ship pulled up on the dock of the palace, and a wooden path was lowered down. The ship itself had no unique or special features about it, other than the embroidery on the main sail, for the royal equestrian navy. Dream sequence had simply offered them sweet dreams for a year to take her there, and 2 extra to take her back. Of course she kept to her word, and every crew member had slept easy the whole journey except for Dream sequence; she never knew she was so easily sea sick.

In all honesty, Dream wasn't very good with conversations regarding any recent events, so she believed most of her time here would be catching up on whatever has happened the past decade or so. A carpet was rolled across the wooden path, allowing Dream to cross with ease. A group of ponies were already there, most looking like they worked there. Of course Dreams knew the names of almost all of them, but she would wait until she was spoken to.

(OOC: I would menyion someone but I'm on a phone.)

One of the skeletons stepped forward and produced a stack of papers from a small grey satchel, he handed them to the donkey.

"We trust that your lordship has made the appropriate arrangements for our masters visit"

The skeleton stepped back into line with the others.

Loq took a moment to read over the papers, then nodded with a sort of half smile. "Alright then, I trust you all have been briefed? Remain in your lord’s presence unless escorted by a palace servant or guard." He paused, then stepped aside for the servants to proceed, then turned around himself to the next visitor. Twelve earth pony servants eyed the skeletons nervously, and waited for them to part.

Far fewer servants followed him to the next ship, it was a rather small one at that, and hardly fitting for an alicorn, at least the ones he was accustomed to. When he approached the dock, Loq saw a dainty looking princess, a tall one, but still fragile looking. The Prince had a thing for ‘helpless little mares’, he wouldn’t be surprised if the prince decided to try and go after this one.

The donkey stepped forward, and gave a polite bow to the alicorn. “My lady,” While still in the bow, he looked around for her servants, and saw none. “Uhm… your retinue your highness?” Such lazy fools if they were still on the ship. He would have a stern talking to with them when the time came. For now though, he could show off the palace servants.

--

The prince saw the flash, and approached the platform with his mob of nobles and hoof lickers flocking behind him. His eyes widened in satisfaction as he saw Luna standing there, in all her regal presence.

He had hoped she would come, this would be the first time in at least a thousand years he had spoken with her, but it was all business. While he did think she was rather cute looking, Luna wasn’t his type, and it would be best to keep the one who controlled the rise and fall of his oceans outside of any… personal relationship. He had a habit of catering to more than one mare at a time.

Welcome, Princess Luna!” Abyssal practically shouted as he stepped towards her. Her expression didn’t really change. It was all seriousness, and no smile.

“Please, come with me my lady. I will personally escort you through the garden, but I’m afraid I won’t be long, other guests, you see.” He explained.

The skeletons nodded and returned to the ship, shortly after a loud bang can be heard from inside the warship and smoke starts to come from the windows.

Coughing can be heard and another skeleton walks out of the ship, this one wears a fine black robe, well, a burnt black robe, half his face is scorched black and the bottom of his robe is still burning.

He walks from the ship and trots up to the servants, a small frown on his face.

Dream Sequence was busy admiring the palace from where she was. It did look very regal, and large. Dream had no idea if it was hidden, or if it remained unexplored on the map. Her thinking was stopped however, when a group of servants came her way, presumably being lead by the donkey in front. Dreams knew the names of each servant, she had too. She was the one in controlled of their dreams, and when you know something that personal, you should at least know their names.

"Hello there, Fabula," Dream replied. "I do no have a 'retinue' actually. In fact I don't actually own this ship either, to be honest." Dream Sequence waved at the boat, and the wooden plank was raised up onto the ship.
