I'm betting the Thanator wins, it's too quick and tough for Basil to take down

The dragon from MLP is featless. He hasn't done anything very impressive, and Thanator is much faster, and much more dangerous.

It also doesn't help that FIM dragons don't have much feats for 1v1 battle outside of tolerance for heat (they can swim in lava like it's a bath), flight and fire breath, and noted for having thick scales that a baby dragon doesn't consider needles at all uncomfortable.

It was after getting disturbed by a pony from his sleep, had another one trying to lie and steal his treasure, another one being annoying, then finally another one deciding to attack him. I'd say it was a case of his patience wearing out.
