*He shrugged.* "Well, there's my exercise, but it ain't much." *He said with a half hearted chuckle. He then started to turn towards her.* " I'm just sitting here thin-" *He stopped mid sentence when he finally looked at her, and saw some red spots in her mane.* "What's that in your mane?"

"Yes, you are the exercise king, I'm bring you a crown later on", she said before realized what he had asked. She ran a hoof through her mane but found nothing so she pulled out a small mirror from her saddlebags and looked at the blood. "Um...paint", she lied, hoping the lie didn't sound too obvious, though it probably did.

*He narrowed his eyes at her, already knowing that she was not telling the truth.* "I know what paint is like, my father is an artist, and when it gets in your mane, it's not easy to get out, and that" *He motioned towards her mane.* "Is not paint. So, I'll ask again, what's in your mane?"

She gulped visibly as he pointed her lie. She jumped into the air, getting ready to take off in case this went badly. "Its blood, okay? Ponies.......bleed, its not that...big of a deal, allright", she asked beginning to wish she hadn't come back down to Ponyville. She flapped her wings, senfing out a circle of lightning around her in frustration that she had missed some blood.

*Blue slightly jerked backwards from her sudden take off into the air and seeing the lightning surrounding her.* "Blood?" *He turned his head slightly.* "What made you bleed in the first place?" *He asked, with a bit of worry. From what he had known about her, she was pretty tough, and probably would stop bleeding in about a few minutes with out it gushing out, let alone get in her mane.*

"I didn't say I was the one bleeding", she said grimly. She slowly returned to the ground, but the lightning remained around her. "I wasn't the one bleeding. It was somepony else, and lets just leave it at that". The real her was surfacing. The Storm Strafe who hid her life so nopony would know the horrible things she did on a daily basis.

"What? Was somepony else injured while you were working?" *He asked frantically.* "You don't seem so phased by this, while others would. It must have been a large amount of blood if it were to somehow manage to get into you mane!" *He continued, trying to get to the bottom of things.*

"Its a part of the job and I really don't want to continue this conversation about my work", she said before looking at him with her eyes showing a look of sadness. However the prominent expression was guilt that she tried desperately to hide it with her face behind her wings.

*He looked in her eyes, sensing something was seriously wrong, and the way she sounded, seemed like it was hitting her hard.* "Alright, but I still sense that something is seriously wrong here, but I won't push it any further if you don't want me too, even though most of me wants to help. I can respect your decision, but if you need to lay some things out, you know where to find me, I always found talking about things made me feel better st times."

She was shaking violently when he dropped the issue. "Look, if I were to tell you my problem, you would never talk tl me again", she said putting her wings back tightly against her sides. "If I do tell you, I'm only going to say it once so you'd better be ready to pay attention".

*He shuffled himself in his spot and ruffled his wings.* "Depends on what it is. Alright then, I'm listening, what's going on?" *He said, mentally worrying what might come of this and thinking of worse case scenarios, but ignoring them.* "I'm all ears." *He said as one of his ears twitched.*

"Alright. I work at the wheather factory up in Cloudsdale. Well, sort of anyway", she shakily. "I actually work in the rainbow factory down at the bottom, grinding up raw materials for rainbows", she said burying her head under hooves iubser her head with her ears flat back in fear.

*He was slightly confused, and worried at the same time.* "Wait, so did somepony get caught in the one of the machines?" *He asked with worry, and also confusion, due to not knowing anything about weather production or raw rainbow materials.* "Did... Did someone get killed?"

"You seriously don't know how rainbows are made? Well here's a twisted story to.hold you over", she managed between tests and labored breathes. "Rainbows are made out of ponies", she said figuring the direct way was better than put itvout piece by piece and sugarcoating it but she still broke down which only the rainbow factory could make her do.

(Out of curiosity, have you actually read 'Rainbow Factory' or just heard the song by Wooden Toaster?)

 

*He sat there, jaw dropped, lost for words.* "I-I-I...." *Was all that he could stutter out. He brought his hoof up to his forehead and let the words sink in.* "P-P-P-Ponies?" *All this time, when he looked up and saw a rainbow, he really saw dead, murdered ponies. He started gagging and almost threw up, but held it in. He felt a bit dizzy as well.* "W-W-Why?"

"You know how Pegasus ponies have to take a flight exam? Well, obviously some fail. Those failures are sent to the rainbow factory to die. Horrible, I know", she said curling around herself, shaking in tears.

*At this point, Blue was visibly shaking now. He took a few deep breaths and started to speak again.* "I'm going to ask a few more questions, and I need you to answer them truthfully, alright?" *He said. This couldn't just be taken lying down. He was surprised no one had said anything.*

"And what if I don't want to? What if I just fly away and never come back", she asked as she began backing nervously away from him. She backed into a tree and jumped up a couple of branches. "All right fine, what do you wanna know? Just know that me telling you any of this is pretty much suicide".

*He took a deep breath and started to speak.* "How long have you been doing this? Are you doing this willfully or being forced? Is there an alternative to rainbow production? How do none of the Princesses know about the horrors being conducted? And overall WHY are you doing this?!" *He asked all at once, trying to get it all answered at once.*

She bobbed in thought of how best to answer. "A couple weeks. Willfully. I don't know. I don't know that they don't. I'm there as a supervisor. I don't do the killing. But there is so much blood flying everywhere, I get covered in it anyway. I'm just there until I can shut it down. We don't really need rainbows if the cost is the lives of innocent ponies, do we".

*He sighed in total relief.* "Ok, so you are trying to shut it down. At least you aren't doing this out of spite on the ones who can't fly as well as others. And no, rainbows are not worth the lives of the innocent, even if they can't fly as well as others can. Well, if you don't know if they don't, we got a princess about a mile" *He pointed a hoof towards Ponyville.* "that way we can see if we can get help from, see if she can get anything done to shut it down. Unless there's any other plan up in your head, this is the best we got."

A dark smile appeared slightly on her face as he told her about the princess. "Twilight Sparkle....I will not be informing her. You are the only one I'm telling and that's only because I figured you'd call some crime on me if I didn't. I will shut it down on my own".

*His jaw dropped again.* "WHAT!? Why? If you're trying to shut this down, then why NOT tell the princess about what's going on" *He pointed a hoof upwards.* "up there in that Tartarus of a factory? Is it for some personal reason, or what? It makes no sense!" *He said in disbelief.*

"It is my problem and my reasons for tearing it down are my own. I will be the one to dismantle that farctory of darkness", she said while jumping off of her branch and debating taking off and ditching him. "If I leave right now, will this conversation be over"?

"It could have been over before I asked you those questions." *He said.* "You didn't have to stay. Alright then, go if you wish, I won't stop you, just make sure that factory is shut down." *He continued, still sitting down.* "Although it could be stopped immediately, instead waiting for personal vendetta." *He added mentally.* "There shouldn't be any death because for something small like rainbows."
