Alduin.

 

Gameplay vs Alduin does not come into it, as all we really have for Luna is lore, as we don't have depicted in a manner such as Alduin is in Skyrim, so we have to go by lore, and Alduin would stomp Luna.

 

If Luna were dragonborn, and thus could gain Dragonrend.... maybe a different story.

Having a telekinetic connection to something isn't the same thing as just firing blasts. Again, bringing science into this makes no sense because you and I both know the writers didn't take that into account

 

 

He's at least tough enough that Sheogorath, a daedra of chaos who can drive men insane with the slightest of effort, considers him too much trouble to go after and would rather hang low than confront him directly

 

 

All Daedra seen in the game have sort of mind power, but they've never tried it against Alduin. Why does it even matter? Luna never showed that off. Regardless, Alduin knows shouts that can tame wild beasts in an instant and bring them to his command, so he has experience with it too

 

It's really just common sense, considering it comes from the same source. It's like saying your right eye is slower to react than your left eye.

But it's not like she has a lack of options, anyway. She could splatter him with telekinetic force, or fire lasers until he's paste. She could flip gravity on him, or banish him into a book, or telefrag him into the earth. At his current level, he can't really do a thing to hurt her.

I'm saying that if the writers took science into it, then Equestria would have to be a super massive planet larger than a star so that when the Sun moves it isn't vaporized

 

 

She could splatter him with telekinetic force, or fire lasers until he's paste. She could flip gravity on him, or banish him into a book, or telefrag him into the earth. At his current level, he can't really do a thing to hurt her.

Only one of these was ever attempted in a battle, the lasers. For some reason, in MLP brawls, telekinesis and hax are never used. The closest we get is Tirek using some telekinesis, but he used it mainly to hold in place or toss, not do anything else. And lasers, really? 

 

Before you bring up Alduin not showing off the other shouts, it's because of the fact that he's unbelievably arrogant and restricting himself unbelievably. On top of being weakened, it was enough so that the Dragonborn was just able to banish him for some time. Before you bring up proof, it's known fact that dragons know all shouts according to Paarthurnaax, it's why you have to use Dragon Souls to learn them.

I hate to disagree, but Evil Dragon Master is right. Alduin is destined to bring about the end of the world, and he can't be defeated until that happens. Even when the dragonborn defeated him, it was said that he would eventually come back to life, which is why you couldn't steal his soul. In the very unlikely event that Luna did manage to defeat Alduin, he would just rise again.

I don't know who that other character is but...go figure, a character that seems predisposed towards violence and combat will crush a pony who's main power is to raise the moon in peace. Go pick essentially anyone from any violent drama or other fiction with supernatural elements and I'm sure they would defeat  Luna and Celestia just as easily.

He's also just a human. He has no powers. Although he's also resourceful enough to perhaps win. Still it isn't much of a stretch to assume that characters from intense action anime/manga or other media could beat these ponies which aren't violent by nature. It almost sounds obvious.

To be fair G4 Tirek was also predisposed to violence, so it's not out of the realm of possibility Luna, if faced against Tirek on her own, would've been pummeled. MLP has those characters too.

We've only seen one actual extended fight between MLP top tiers, and both teleportation and telekinesis were both used.

 

There are a lot of things in fiction that don't make sense. That's why we go by what characters have done, whether it makes sense to us or not.

So we're fighting on the Demonbane earth? And he can't be defeated until the world ends...

How is she doing to do that when Alduin can literally create a planet inside of her and make her explode. Hell, if worse comes to worst, he takes the Freeza route and destroys the planet, letting Luna die in space while he makes a portal to escape 

To be fair G4 Tirek was also predisposed to violence, so it's not out of the realm of possibility Luna, if faced against Tirek on her own, would've been pummeled. MLP has those characters too.

It's not, but IIRC it is the biggest. Akavir and Atmora come to mind.

IIRC I don't think it's discussed or mention in a lot of detail. All that I recall is that Atmora is the ancestral home of the modern day Nords. I think people still live on that island, but again they're not mentioned.

He has to recreate the planet afterwards and it's not like he'd pop out of existence if his destiny was completed either

Alduin is basically the main villain/end-boss from the game Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

To get back on topic, since you didn't specify a period of time where Luna would come to Nirn, allow me to propose a scenario: Suppose Luna stole the heart of Lorkhan from the Dwemer and figured out how to use it to make herself into a proper god like Talos did. While this scenario of events is very unlikely, what if it did happen? Would the massive increase in power be enough to let her defeat Alduin?

While this scenario of events is very unlikely, what if it did happen? Would the massive increase in power be enough to let her defeat Alduin?

Are we talking about the heart of Lorkhan? The thing that basically doomed the entirety of the Dwemer population on all of Nirn to sudden and complete disappearance? Wouldn't it affect Luna in a similar manner? As powerful as she is, she is no deity.

 

As for the question at hand, it's possible, but like in the game, his defeat is likely only temporary, but in theory, I think she could win given those circumstances...IF she survived the heart itself.
