As she walked behind Rising, Ali-Mei was still smiling. She knew she would remember this day and the fun they'd had for a long time...but it couldn't beat yesterday. Nothing could ever beat what she'd felt yesterday, when they had finally kissed. She had only been in love with him for a morning, and yet it had seemed like an eternity she had waited from when she knew she had feelings for him to when they'd kissed. She smiled wider, remembering that wonderful moment.

Rising walks on the clouds, making their way to the ice cream shop, when he looks back and seeing her smile wide in toughts.

 

"Thinking of something good? Probably have to do with me, right? I know that feel, just with you."

 

He continues his way, until he look trough the clouds, seeing the ice cream shop.

Ali-Mei laughed. "Yes, I was just remembering yesterday. It's funny, it was just a morning's-length of time from when I realized I had feelings for you, to the moment that we kissed...but it seemed like an eternity. Can you imagine if one of us had just never said anything, had chickened out?" She smiled. "I'm so glad we both had the courage to tell each other." She moved closer to him, nuzzling his cheek.

 

When she too spotted the ice cream shop, she was surprised they'd gotten there so quickly. "Time flies when you're with your special somepony," she said with a giggle.

"It definitly does"

 

He smiles back and nuzzles her cheek, before moving the clouds a bit away and flying down in front of the ice cream shop.

 

"Let's get in then"

 

He walks in and hold the door open for her to enter. Then they walk to the counter.

 

"Heya, we are here for ice cream."

The mare behind the counter smiled kindly at them. "Hello, you two fine ponies! Which flavors would you like?" she asked, already levitating two cones into the air, ready to scoop the ice cream at a moment's notice.

 

"I'll have vanilla and...hmmm..." Ali-Mei studied the list of flavors that was propped up on the counter, then brightened. "And mint chocolate chip, please!" That was her favorite flavor.

"Uhm, I take chocolate and vanilla, please."

 

He smiles and lays the bits on the counter. He waits, until the mare finished and take his ice, sitting down by a table and start licking the ice cream off.

 

"Mhhhhh, that's pretty darn good. I definitly coming here more often now."

Ali-Mei noticed he'd paid for her ice cream as well. Even though it was only a couple bits extra, she appreciated it. "Thanks," she said, nodding towards the counter.

 

Ali-Mei enjoyed her ice cream just as much as Rising did. "I know, right?" she replied to his comment. "I don't know why I stopped coming!" She smiled. "And now I have an extra reason to come here: I get to spend more time with you."

"Exactly. I can never have enough time with you, my beautyfull ice cream"

 

He then laughs, continue licking his ice cream. After some while Rising finishes his ice cream. He points to the toilet for her, then walks in it and comes back few minutes later.

 

"Alright, what now?"

Ali-Mei giggled, finishing her own ice cream.

 

"I don't know..." Ali-Mei glanced up at the clock. "Oh! Sparrow should be home from school now!" She smiled. "I guess it's time to go meet her and my mom, and to get that daybed as well for my apartment." She went to the door of the ice cream shop. "Ready?" she asked, grinning.

"Sounds good to me. I hope your family likes me. I'm nervous. Well, you are with me luckily."

 

Rising smiles and kiss her cheek. He opens the door and looks surprised.

 

"Hey, Ali-Mei, look. The rain stopped, no need for cloudwalking anymore. Let's better get going then."

"I can't see how they wouldn't," Ali-Mei said, nuzzling his cheek back. "You're the most wonderful stallion I've ever known. I'm sure they'll take a...shine to you right away!" She giggled and winked at him.

 

"Oh, that's good!" Ali-Mei took to the air, hovering in front of Rising. "We can get there faster!"

"Yeah, let's move then."

 

He smiles, but in his mind he is scared, how they react to him. Will they be happy? Mad? Thinking he is the right one? Or telling her, he isn't good for her. Rising feels more and more nervous, still following Ali-Mei. The last barrier between love and lose ...

Ali-Mei stopped in the middle of the sky, sensing Rising's increasing nervousness. She gave him a spontaneous hug. "Don't worry! My mom has never been one to get mad at much, in fact I haven't seen her get angry in years. I hardly think she'd dislike you for any reason; in fact she's even read some of your books and likes them." She smiled at Rising. "I strongly believe you have nothing to worry about."

"W-Wait ... she did read few of my books? I wonder which ones. Anyway, thank you for helping, Ali-Mei. I feel less nervous now."

 

He smiles and hugs her back tight. Then they fly together to her parents house until they reach it.

 

"Alright, let's go then."

 

He knocks on the door.

"I'm glad I was able to help you," Ali-Mei said, kissing him on the cheek and smiling. "I should be - after all I am your marefriend!" She giggled.

 

The door opened, and a pale orange mare stood behind it, smiling as soon as she saw her daughter. "Hello Ali!" she said with a smile; then her eyes moved to Rising, whom she didn't recognize. "Hello, who is this?" she asked.

 

"This is Rising Shine," Ali-Mei said, starting to blush a little. "He's...he's my coltfriend."

 

Her mother gasped. "Really? That's wonderful!" She beamed at Rising. "I can't wait to get to know you! Hang on...your name sounds familiar...you write books?"

Rising looks to her, unsure what to say. When Ali-Mei mentioned, that he is her coltfriend, he blushes a little, but feeled better, when she reacted positive.

 

"Yeah, I'm an author, probably heared my name from books I wrote. It's nice to meet you, miss."

 

He offers his hoof for a shake

"I believe I have a few of your books on my shelf! I should read them again, especially now that I'm going to get to know their author very well!" She smiled and took his hoof, shaking it briskly, but not too hard. "Lovely to meet you too, Rising! Come in, I'm sure Sparrow would love to meet you as well!"

 

As they entered the house and Ali-Mei's delighted mother went upstairs to fetch Sparrow, Ali-Mei turned to Rising and grinned. "Feel a lot better now?" she asked, nuzzling his cheek and smiling.

Rising shakes her hoof and smiles.

 

"You wont be disappointed. Sure."

 

Rising walks in and waits, until Ali-Mei asks him, if he feels better.

 

"Yeah, a lot. Thanks, Ali-Mei. She is really nice, you didn't lied ... of course you would never lie to me, silly me."

 

Rising chuckles a little.

Ali-Mei giggled, putting a hoof around Rising's shoulder. "Of course I wouldn't," she said, smiling and resting her cheek against his.

Then she heard voices coming down the stairs. She straightened, smiling. "Sparrow will be down in a moment!" Sure enough, moments later a young, light pink earth mare with a lavender mane came bouncing down the stairs, followed by Ali-Mei's mother.

Sparrow stopped in front of them. "Hi Ali! And hi...my mom said your name was Rising?" She smiled eagerly, hoping she'd gotten the name right.

Rising smiles wide, when she put her cheek on his, feeling the warmth and love coming from her. He then hears noises coming closer and looks ahead, seeing a mare hopping to them and ask if he spelled his name right. Rising smiles and nods.

 

"Yeah, it's Rising."

Sparrow grinned. "Yay! So you're Ali's coltfriend?" she asked curiously. "And aren't you the Rising who writes fantasy books? If so then I love your books!" She was obviously full of energy, just like most fillies her age. Ali-Mei smiled, pulling her sister into a hug.

Rising chuckles, happy to see her so happy and active.

 

"Yes and yes. I'm an author, thanks."

 

He watch them pulling into a hug and is unsure what to do right now. He thinks short, before he smiles and joins in the hug, hugging them tight. He pulls back and smiles.

Ali-Mei grinned as they came out of the group hug. "Hey Sparrow, remember that ice cream shop we used to go to all the time?" she asked her sister.

 

Sparrow nodded, smiling as she remembered. "Yeah!"

 

"Rising and I just went there today," Ali said. "I think sometime we should all go."

"That's sounds good to me too. I would do that for sure."

 

He smiles happily to them. Her family really seems to be nice ... yay. All te panic and worry for absolute nothing, haha. Hey, it's her family afterall, why shouldn't they be as awesome as best pony? Of course they are, but she is still my number 1.

"Yay!" Sparrow grinned. "I can't wait to get to know you more, Rising! After all you are Ali-Mei's coltfriend, and the stallion she picked has to be really cool!"

 

Ali-Mei saw Rising smile and was also happy. She'd also worried a little about whether or not her family would take a...shine (haha) to Rising or not, and their instant acceptance made her feel even happier.
