Who/what OFFICIALLY reformed Discord?

Discord he amazing, previously titled the "King/Creature of Chaos" but now he is closer to the mane 6 than he has ever been before, but what pony actually did it, or was it even a pony? There are several moments in the show where he could have been officially reformed.

 

1. Obviously, Fluttershy making him value friendship over Chaos, Tyranny, and evil.

2. Lord Tirek, teaching him the hard way, yes this scene made me very emotional, not sad, just considering Discord's feelings at the time. Guilt and betrayal.

3. Discord being forgiven by Twilight during "the trade".

4. Discord being forgiven by Fluttershy, the first friend he had ever had.

Honestly, magic; the magic of plot convenience. Personally, I can see no reason why a being as powerful and troll-ilicious as him would just drop his awesomely fun way of life so that he can exchange some letters with a yellow and pink pony and not be turned to stone for a couple thousand years every now and again.

 

Like, the end of that episode where he's at Fluttershy's cottage, he messes with them for a while and almost goes full Discord on everyone again and then changes his mind and embraces FRIENDSHIP at literally the final minute? It was just weird. And not Discord-weird, but what-just-happened-weird.

-Discord has never experienced anyone caring for him, except in Ink Rose's head cannon. So he must have went though some major emotional stuff at the time.

Agreed, this led to think about how the reformation process was actually longer than everyone thought it was.

He was reformed by Fluttershy showing him how great it is to have friends.

 

He was re-reformed because the reason he became evil again was because Tirek promised him something greater than friendship, but he was betrayed by Tirek and realized there was nothing greater than friendship.

The term "re-reformed" popped out on this one for me. Because if you notice throughout the finale of season five, he DID still have some compassions for the ponies.

 

Ex. His face when Tirek took the magic of Shining Armor and SA called Discord a traitor ("Traitor" hit him hard somewhere)

Ex. He couldn't watch Fluttershy and the rest of the mane 6 (excluding twilight) suffer due to his own decisions.

 

In the back of his mind, he was still reformed. I bet if he got the chaos he wanted, he want unintentionally do good instead of evil, and slowly being the harmony back.

Tirek did, sadly. I didn't expect the Lord of Evil  to be the one who truly reformed the Spirit of Chaos.
